HYSTERICAL: Fox News Host Worries About Biden’s Campaign Strategy, Advises Him Not to Tell Jokes

In the heat of the 2024 presidential race, it would be prudent for candidates to be seeking out the best consultants with the insight and experience to advance their electoral prospects. And if you’re the Democratic incumbent (Joe Biden) running against a Republican cult leader (Donald Trump), who would be a better source of advice than Fox News?

This election cycle has, unfortunately, seen the media embarrass themselves with ridiculous stories that compare a candidate that they say is old with memory problems, to his opponent who is also old and with 91 pending felony charges, an adjudication as a rapist, is guilty of financial fraud, and recently promised to illegally violate the NATO treaty and “encourage” Russian dictator Vladimir Putin to attack America’s European allies.

Last week the press covered the report released by special counsel Robert Hur on his probe of documents stored by President Biden. But what should have been a story about Biden being fully exonerated, was diverted into a smear campaign that made inappropriate and false assertions about Biden’s mental acuity.

Biden’s response to this unethical attack was multilayered. And consistent with his affable personality, humor was part of that response. For instance…

However, Fox News was apparently concerned about the strategies being employed by the Biden campaign. Host Harris Faulkner was generous enough to provide some free advice to help Biden deal with the furor over the Hur report’s unscrupulous insinuations. Never mind that most of that furor was fanned by Fox News itself. Faulkner began by asking…

“Who is doing this man’s strategy? President Biden joking about his age and memory. Insisting, in fact, he does remember things after that scathing DoJ report cast so much doubt. He didn’t get indicted because the question was, could a jury even go anywhere with him because he has no memory. Now he says he does have memory. Are they gonna indict him?

So Faulkner’s formula for disposing of this dilemma is to refrain from any and all humor. As if a scowling facade of seriousness would put the matter to rest. That sort of gloomy brooding and hostility might work for Trump on his cult disciples, but most everyone else finds it repulsive and repellant.

What’s more, Faulkner completely misstates the findings in Hur’s report. Hur did not decline to indict Biden because of an allegedly poor memory. It was because he didn’t have the evidence to indict, as he said in his report in several separate passages such as the following…

“[W]e cannot prove that Mr. Biden knew about or intended to keep the document after he was vice president, or we cannot prove the document contains national defense information, or both. These documents do not support criminal charges against Mr. Biden.”

Consequently, Faulkner’s snarky inquiry as to whether Biden would be indicted now that he has acknowledged that his memory is fine only confirms her own cognitive failings. He never claimed to have a memory problem to begin with. So his affirmation of his recall doesn’t change anything for Biden or the special counsel.

Trump’s MAGA movement is a textbook example of a cult, wherein the indoctrinated followers regard the leader as infallible and near to a deity. They forgive him any and all transgressions. He can lie with impunity. He can break laws and openly violate moral standards. He can commit 91 felonies and repeatedly defame a woman that he raped. Trump has done all of this, while retaining the adoration of his glassy-eyed disciples, as well as his Republican Party parasites.

But Trump and MAGA are more than just a typical cult. Trump’s model for his operations is organized crime. He envisions himself as a mob boss whose underlings are beholden to him by a combination of favors and threats. No one is safe from his wrath, which is the eventual end of nearly every relationship he has.

On Sunday morning Trump posted a comment to his failing social media scam, Truth Social that exhibited his crime boss belligerence. It was directed at pop superstar Taylor Swift and read…

“I signed and was responsible for the Music Modernization Act for Taylor Swift and all other Musical Artists. Joe Biden didn’t do anything for Taylor, and never will. There’s no way she could endorse Crooked Joe Biden, the worst and most corrupt President in the History of our Country, and be disloyal to the man who made her so much money. Besides that, I like her boyfriend, Travis, even though he may be a Liberal, and probably can’t stand me!”

Trump thinks Taylor Swift should support him because he signed a bill (that he had nothing to do with, and probably knows nothing about) that benefited musical artists. He’s actually trying to take credit for Swift’s success that predated his occupation of the White House by a decade.

What’s more, Trump thinks that this inane argument will win him Swift’s political support. He thinks that she is as stupid as his MAGA minions, and that she has no values of her own. He would certainly ditch her, and viciously malign her, the instant she expressed any appreciation for President Biden. In Trump’s mind it’s all about money. So, like his hero, Al Capone, he demands loyalty for protection.

That was not the only recent example of Trump’s protection racketeering. He pulled the same move on America’s NATO allies. At his cult rally in South Carolina Trump told a story, that is surely pure fiction, about a leader of a “big country” who asked if the the U.S. would honor its treaty obligations in the event that Russia attacked them. Trump says that he replied…

“You didn’t pay? You’re delinquent? ‘No I would not protect you, in fact I would encourage them to do whatever the hell they want.”

This is a grotesque betrayal of American and international law. Treaties are not mere handshakes between the signatories. They are explicitly cited in the Constitution’s Article VI as the “supreme Law of the Land.” As president, Trump couldn’t unilaterly withdraw for alleged non-payment. The funds that he is referring to are not even owed to the U.S. They are goals, not requirements, for the member nations’ own internal defense budgets. And yet, wannabe Dictator Trump believes that he can demand a ransom for America’s allegiance. To Trump American honor is for sale like any other commodity.

However, when Trump says that he would “encourage” Russia to attack our allies he is going even further into the realm of overt treason, as defined by Article III of the Constitution that refers to giving “aid and comfort” to our enemies. That couldn’t be more submissive to the will of Vladimir Putin than if Trump planted a big, wet kiss on his – let’s say mouth.

You know Trump is serious about this extortion scheme because that is precisely the position he’s taken on Russia’s invasion of – and continued slaughter in – Ukraine. It’s also similar to the threats he imposed on state election officials in Georgia and elsewhere to get them to falsify election results. He also tried to extort Ukrainian President Zelenskyy to pressure him to dig up dirt on Biden. Trump even threatened the Republican National Committee in order to divert donations to himself rather than the party.

The pattern you see developing here is not coincidence. It is representative of Trump’s transactional and tyrannical personality. And if he were to return to the White House he would sell the country to the highest bidder without blinking twice. We must never allow that to happen.

Fox News ‘Doctor’ Makes Bogus Diagnosis of Biden that Fits Trump’s Cognitive Disorder Way Better

The release of special counsel Robert Hur’s report on the documents stored by President Biden has made the top of the news this week for all the wrong reasons. What should have been a story about Biden being fully exonerated for any wrongdoing, was hijacked by wholly inappropriate assessments of his mental acuity.

In a sane world the exoneration of Biden would be the lead story on every newscast. But Hur’s insertion of irrelevant opinions about Biden’s cognitive functioning – which Hur is utterly unqualified to assess – wound up stealing the show. That makes this a failure on the part of the media as well as the special counsel. Which is nothing new, as demonstrated by the reporting on Biden’s recent economic successes.

The Hur report not only concluded that no charges be filed against Biden, it also noted the stark differences between Biden’s actions and those of Donald Trump, who is currently facing 91 felony charges. Hur wrote that…

“Most notably, after being given multiple chances to return classified documents and avoid prosecution, Mr. Trump allegedly did the opposite. According to the indictment, he not only refused to return documents for many months, he also obstructed justice by enlisting others to destroy evidence and then lie about it. In contrast, Mr. Biden turned in classified documents to the National Archives, the Department of Justice, consented to a search of multiple locations, including his homes and sat for a voluntary interview, and in other ways cooperated with the investigation.”

However, those facts seemed to get short shrift in favor of more salacious, tabloid style, pseudo-journalism. And at the forefront of that wretched reportage was, of course, Fox News. The network that serves as the Ministry of Propaganda for Trump and his MAGA Republicans invited Dr. Nicole Saphier to comment on the Hur report and Biden’s response to it. Note that Saphier is a radiologist with no credentials in psychology or politics. But that didn’t stop her from making a remote diagnosis…

“Actually, the way that [Biden] came out and was attacking [Fox’s White House correspondent] Peter Doocy and others, that actually goes in line with maybe he is having some sort of cognitive decline.’

First of all, Biden didn’t “attack” Doocy. To the contrary, he joked with him before explaining why he disagreed with the typically loaded question that Doocy had asked. Biden has cordial relationships with everyone in the press corps, and often needles them light-heartedly.

More to the point, Saphier’s assertion that a display of anger is evidence of “some sort of cognitive decline,” is not only way off target with regard to Biden, but is actually much more descriptive of Trump. After all, it is Trump who maligns the media as “enemy of the people.” And it is Trump who viciously attacks reporters and news outlets at every opportunity. for instance…

That’s just a few of the insults that Trump has thrown at reporters in the midst of his temper tantrums. So if Saphier thinks that Biden’s mild and cordial tone is evidence of cognitive decline, what must she think of Trump’s raving? Tucker Carlson Snuggles Up to His Master, Vladimir Putin, in a Humiliating Parade of Propaganda

In what may be the most predictable presentation of pro-Russian propaganda of the year, former Fox News Trump-fluffer, Tucker Carlson, posted his embarrassingly obsequious “interview” of Russia’s dictator, Vladimir Putin. The two hour torture featured Carlson employing his constipated stare as his hero regurgitated well-worn talking points.

Carlson’s adventures in Putinland are not particularly surprising. He has been hankering for this hook-up for years, despite the perils of visiting a country where actual journalists seem to keep falling out of windows. That, however, isn’t something that Carlson needs to worry about because, unlike actual journalists, he is a renowned purveyor of “alternative facts” who is only allowed entry to Russia because they already know that his work will be slobberingly sycophantic.

True to form, Carlson spent most of the two hours enraptured by his master’s voice as he disseminated flagrantly self-serving disinformation. CNN’s Oliver Darcy succinctly summarized the sit-down, saying that Carlson…

“…largely refrained from challenging the Russian authoritarian, whose brutal war on Ukraine has led to the needless deaths of hundreds of thousands of people. Those expecting a hard-hitting face-off will have surely walked away sorely disappointed by the long-winded and rambling interview, in which Tucker himself at times appeared lost. […] Carlson allowed the autocrat a free lane to manipulate the public and tell his version of history, no matter how deceptive it may have been.”

Darcy also observed the transparency of Putin’s exploitation of Carlson noting that “Putin’s own spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov, told reporters this week that Carlson was selected because he ‘has a position that is different from the rest’ of Western media.” In other words, Carlson was pre-approved by the Kremlin’s Office of Authorized Up-Sucking.

At no time during the Veneration of Vlad did Carlson challenge Putin’s blatant lies and distortions of reality. He didn’t bother to mention that Russia has committed war crimes in Ukraine and elsewhere; imprisoned and attempted to murder opposition leader Alexei Navalny and other Putin critics; and only briefly referred to the incarceration of Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich for more than a year.

With regard to Ukraine, Carlson got Putin to agree to end his unprovoked slaughter if the U.S. would stop providing aid and Zelenskyy would unilaterally surrender Ukraine’s sovereignty. With regard to Gershkovich, Carlson asked Putin to release him to Carlson’s custody in a grotesque scheme to grab some undeserved glory. He said that “He’s a kid, and maybe he was breaking your law in some way, but he’s not a super spy.” That didn’t go over well with fellow Wall Street reporter Ted Mann, who tweeted…

All of this affirms Carlson’s loyalty to Putin’s autocracy over democracy. It’s a record of betrayal that Carlson has been forging for several years. FINALLY: Trump Admits that January 6th Was an Insurrection, But Blames it on Nancy Pelosi

The many trials and tribulations of Donald Trump are continuing to unfold with a near constant narrative by Trump himself. With each new development there is another anxious and incoherent outburst by Trump as he struggles desperately to avoid accountability for his criminal activities.

On Thursday the Supreme Court heard arguments pertaining the Colorado case wherein the state’s high court ruled that Trump is ineligible to run for president according to state law and the Constitution’s 14th Amendment. Even though Trump’s arguments countering that ruling, and a similar one in Maine, are laughably weak, the ultra-conservative majority on the Supreme Court are likely to side with Trump.

Trump didn’t bother to attend the hearing, but he was watching from Mar-a-Lago. And as usual, he took the opportunity to exploit the media buzz and deliver a post-hearing message to the press. All of the cable news networks took Trump’s remarks when he began what was supposed to be his reaction to the Supreme Court proceedings. But true to form, Trump was only interested in talking about himself. Rather than address the matter at hand, he just started rattling off the same tedious talking points that he disgorges at his cult rallies.

Since Trump’s yammering was purely self-serving campaign rhetoric that had nothing whatsoever to do with the hearing, CNN and MSNBC made the journalistically responsible decision to cut away. However, his Ministry of Propaganda, Fox News, let him ramble on about imaginary “election interference,” and how he is allegedly “leading in every poll,” and his ludicrous claims that we “wouldn’t have had any of the problems that we have today” (i.e. Ukraine, Gaza, inflation, crime), if he had been reelected.

Among the more preposterous of his post-hearing positions was one that is also a remarkable contradiction of everything he has said previously about the January 6th insurrection that he incited. He has long insisted that it was nothing more than peaceful protest by patriots who were upset that the 2020 election was “rigged and stolen” from him.

Of course the entire world witnessed live the violence of the StormTrumpers as they sought to obstruct Congress from carrying out its constitutional duty to certify the election and President Biden’s victory. Trump not only instigated the violence, he told the rioters that he understood why they were rioting and that he loved them. However, in his post-hearing remarks he finally admitted what everyone else already knew. He confessed that “I think it was an insurrection,” but with the added caveat, “caused by Nancy Pelosi.”

So now Trump is conceding that what occurred on January 6th was, in fact, an insurrection. That’s a stark departure from his prior characterizations of the assault. Although his attempt to blame it on Nancy Pelosi is both dishonest and disgusting. Pelosi was a target of Trump’s MAGA mercenaries who attacked the seat of American democracy at his direction that day. They literally chanted “Where’s Nancy?” as they stampeded through the halls of Congress.

Trump has repeatedly lied that he had offered Pelosi 10,000 National Guard troops to defend the Capitol. He did so just a couple of weeks ago in a speech where he also mistook Nikki Haley for Pelosi. The claim of that offer has been debunked many times. But it is also a peculiar claim since he’s asserting that his own followers are so dangerous that thousands of soldiers were needed to quell them.

At this stage of the game, no rational person expects Trump’s blather to be anything but nonsense and lies. But it is refreshing to hear him occasionally serve up comments that actually incriminate him further as he tries to slither out from under the avalanche of evidence of his treachery. And this admission that January 6th was indeed an insurrection will delight the prosecutors who are still collecting evidence of his crimes.

Tucker Carlson Explains Why He’s in Moscow Sucking Up to His BFF Vladimir Putin

This week it was discovered that former Fox News Trump-fluffer, Tucker Carlson, is in Moscow, reportedly to interview the Russian dictator and MAGA hero, Vladimir Putin. It is not especially surprising that Carlson would travel to a country where journalists are routinely arrested or shoved out of windows. Although, that’s not something that he would have to worry about, because he can hardly be described as a journalist.

Furthermore, Carlson is a slobbering sycophant of Putin and has not been shy about about saying so. So it’s unlikely that he would stir the Kremlin’s wrath while he’s there. In fact, Carlson has literally bragged about his support for Russia over America and its allies, saying “Why do I care about what’s going on in the conflict between Ukraine and Russia? And why shouldn’t I root for Russia, because I am.”

Now Carlson has posted a video wherein he seeks to explain the reasons for his pilgrimage to Putinland. True to form, it’s a self-serving four minutes of blatant lies and propaganda. The crux of his message (video below) asserts that…

“Two years into a war that’s reshaping the entire world, most Americans are not informed. They have no real idea what’s happening in this region. […] No one has told them the truth. Their media outlets are corrupt. They lie to their readers and viewers.”

That’s actually true, so long as Carlson is referring to himself and his flagrant dishonesty as revealed in his own communications that were disclosed during the Dominion Voting Systems defamation lawsuit against Fox News. Those lies cost Fox News $787 million. In general, however, Carlson is just insulting the American people who he apparently believes are ignorant lemmings being led around by pseudo-journalists like himself. Which is also true, so long as he’s referring to Fox News viewers and Trump’s MAGA cult.

Carlson then complains that American media reports on Ukraine have been “pep sessions” and propaganda for Ukrainian President Zelenskyy. Then he asserts that “not a single western journalist has bothered to interview the president of the other country involved in this conflict, Vladimir Putin.” That’s actually not true.

While Putin does not often make himself available to western media that he doesn’t control, there have been a few notable exceptions. For instance, NBC News interviewed Putin on June 14, 2021. Financial Times interviewed Putin on July 5, 2019. Megyn Kelly interviewed Putin, March 10, 2018.

The notion that Carlson is the guy to set the American people straight on Putin and his intentions in Ukraine, and more broadly, Eastern Europe and the World, is preposterous. While he yammers about propaganda in the Western press, he leaves out the fact that he is one of its foremost agents of “alternative facts.” And he wouldn’t be allowed entry to Russia, much less an interview with Putin, if they didn’t already know that it would be a pusillanimous puff piece. After all, that’s pretty much all Carlson has ever produced in the past. For example…

Trump Blames Dementia for Why Biden is Skipping the Super Bowl Interview, Which Trump Also Did

Among the annual Super Bowl traditions is one that has been in effect for less than twenty years. So it is something less than a timeless institution. It’s the pre-game interview of the President of the United States. These interviews have typically been more entertaining than newsworthy. While they can potentially draw a large audience, the viewers are often more interested in beers and barbeque than political banter.

This year President Biden has declined to participate in the program. He is busy campaigning for reelection against Donald Trump and the MAGA Cult that is threatening to do away with democracy. And naturally, Trump had something idiotic to say about Biden’s decision to put the America first. On his failing social media scam, Truth Social, Trump whined that…

“Crooked Joe Biden has just announced that he will not be doing the big Super Bowl Interview. A great decision, he can’t put two sentences together. I WOULD BE HAPPY TO REPLACE HIM – would be ‘RATINGS GOLD!'”

It’s peculiar that Trump continues to use the infantile nickname “Crooked Joe” when he is the one with 91 felony counts pending and has already been found liable by a jury for defamation and rape. It’s Trump who will be in and out of courtrooms for the remainder of this election year, defending himself against criminal charges ranging from financial fraud, to inciting a violent insurrection, to stealing (and perhaps disseminating) classified documents, to undermining democracy. All of which he dismisses as “election interference.”

More to the point, Trump is complaining that Biden isn’t doing the interview because he supposedly “can’t put two sentences together.” Which is another example of Trump projecting his own deficiencies unto his opponent. Furthermore, Trump is flagrantly lying about being “happy to replace” Biden in the interview. Trump doesn’t do interviews with anyone outside of his safe harbor of MAGA hacks who lob him the softest of balls.

It’s also interesting to note that Trump has apparently forgotten that he himself chickened out of a Super Bowl interview in 2018. He retreated to his bunker because the interviewer was Lester Holt of NBC News. And he knew that his own mental infirmity would result in further humiliation. What’s more, two of the three Super Bowl interviews that he did show up for were moderated by Fox News Trump-fluffers, Bill O’Reilly (2017) and Sean Hannity (2020).

Trump’s attendance and/or avoidance of these interviews was not exactly a demonstration of the courage he tries to flaunt. It’s more of an affirmation of the cowardice he displayed by claiming five deferments from the Vietnam draft for alleged bone spurs.

Trump thinks he can project his mental impairment and spinelessness unto Biden for opting out of this interview. But, as usual, he is just shining a spotlight unto his own failings and reminding everyone that he is not only dishonest, but a craven coward with serious cognitive defects of his own. he is utterly unfit to serve in any office, and he seems intent on proving it.

Trump and Fox News are So Scared Of Biden, They’re Switching in Gavin Newsom and Michelle Obama

The legendary Democratic campaign consultant, James Carville, immortalized the phrase “It’s the economy, stupid,” in order to impress upon his staff the importance of focusing on pocketbook issues to deliver votes. In most elections, people generally support the candidate that they believe has the best agenda for boosting their financial well being.

Donald Trump, Snowflakes

The 2024 presidential election may not hew as closely to that principle as prior elections. The emergence of Donald Trump has introduced some rather unique considerations that skew the strategic landscape in today’s politics. For instance, it’s the first election wherein a major party nominee is facing 91 felony criminal charges, has already been held civilly liable for defamation and rape, and is promising to reign as a dictator.

That said, the economy will still be a significant factor on the minds of voters as they make their choices for president. And the fact that the economy is presently firing on all cylinders presents a real problem for Trump and his mouthpieces at Fox News. The last thing they want is to run against Bidenomics as it is creating jobs, lowering inflation, lifting wages, and boosting the prospects of American business.

Consequently, when Fox News’ Senior Trump-fluffer, Maria Bartiromo, interviewed Trump for her Sunday morning program, she made a point of deflecting from Biden to two other notable persons who have made it clear that they are not running for president: Gavin Newsom and Michelle Obama. And Trump was all to happy to take the bait…

Bartiromo: You’ve said that you don’t even think [Biden] is who you’re going to face off in November.
Trump: Personally, I don’t think so.
Bartiromo: Well, Gavin Newsom is right out of central casting. How are you going to do up against Gavin Newsom?
Trump: I tell you what. Because he’s so much bullsh*t. He want’s to say how wonderful…it’s doing horribly. His state is doing horribly. You look at the homeless problem. You look at the people that are leaving. You have companies that are leaving. They’re all leaving for other locations. I think Gavin’s easy because California is a disaster. He has been a horrible governor.
Bartiromo: What if it’s Michelle Obama? How are you going to do against Michelle Obama?
Trump: You have to see. Look, I’ve seen polls where she doesn’t do well. She may do well. But I’ve seen polls where I beat her easily. I beat her by a lot. I had four great years.

This segment could not have been a bigger waste of time. Newsom and Obama have been crystal clear that they aren’t considering any campaign for the White House. Trump’s opinion that Biden won’t be his opponent is based solely on his fear that he is likely to lose to him again, just like he did in 2020. So Newsom and Obama are convenient deflections from that recurring fate of humiliation and defeat.

Naturally, Trump insists that he can easily beat Newsom or Obama. He childishly maligns them as he does any opponent that threatens him. And his confidence that he would prevail is a product of his massive, yet fragile ego. You can rest assured that he has never seen a poll showing that he would beat either one of them. But he has surely seen evidence of the booming Biden economy.

What’s more, his assertion that he had “four great years” is contrary to reality. He presided over the worst pandemic in a century. And his ignorance, incompetence, and even deliberate neglect, resulted in far more dire consequences than would have been suffered if an able administrator were in charge.

His term also had the worst record on job creation since the the Great Depression. Plus, he raised taxes for the working class, and lowered them for corporations and the wealthy. He put justices in place who set women’s rights back fifty years. And he sucked up to our foreign enemies while alienating our allies.

In short, Trump had four disastrous years that left the nation poorer, more in debt, sicker, and more divided than ever. Then he left the White House kicking and screaming about election fraud, stole classified documents and lied about it, tried to instigate a violent insurrection, and sought to strongarm state officials into altering election results.

That record makes him vulnerable to Biden, Newsom, Obama, or any other challenger. At this point he would lose to SpongeBob SquarePants. American voters are not about to turn over the country to a criminal crybaby with authoritarian aspirations.

Trump Attacks Georgia D.A. Fani Willis and Sics His Congressional Lap Dog, Jim Jordan, on Her

The legal melodramas enveloping Donald Trump are becoming more engrossing than the fictional soap operas broadcast on television. Who would have believed ten years ago that a candidate of a major political party would be running for president with 91 felony charges pending against him? And even more unimaginable, that candidate is actually the frontrunner.

Trump Fear

That is, unfortunately, where we are now in America as Trump has cast his spell on what remains of the Republican Party. What was once referred to as the “Grand Old Party” (GOP) would now more accurately be called the “Groveling Obedient Peons.” It’s a cult that shamelessly worships a criminally indicted felon and rapist who preaches a platform of vengeance and venality.

On Friday Trump lashed out again at one of his perceived tormentors, the District Attorney of Georgia, Fani Willis. In a post on his failing social media scam, Truth Social, trump whined that…

“Fani Willis, the D.A. of Fulton County, just admitted to having a sexual relationship with the Prosecutor she, in consultation with the White House and DOJ, appointed to ‘GET PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP.’ By going after the most high level person, and the Republican Nominee, she was able to get her ‘lover’ much more money, almost a Million Dollars, than she would be able to get for the prosecution of any other person or individual. THAT MEANS THAT THIS SCAM IS TOTALLY DISCREDITED & OVER!”

For the umpteenth time Trump is trying to associate all of the prosecutors who are investigating his criminal activities with President Biden and his Justice Department. He has never provided a shred of evidence that any such connection exists, but the baseless accusation is a core part of his victimhood. He’s convinced that Biden is the head of a corrupt cabal that encompasses the entire U.S. government, even though he is – according to Trump – mentally deficient and unable to put two sentences together.

Even so, this accusation makes less sense than his other wild fantasies. He’s asserting that Biden and the DoJ got Willis to hire a special prosecutor at allegedly inflated rates. But why would the Biden administration want to enrich Willis’ boyfriend? Trump is just grasping at air to try to invoke some sort of scandal.

What’s more, Trump’s claim that the relationship “MEANS THAT THIS SCAM IS TOTALLY DISCREDITED & OVER” is preposterous. That relationship doesn’t discredit the case because it has no bearing whatsoever on the facts that have been accumulated that show that Trump attempted to threaten officials in Georgia in order to overturn the election results. And as for Trump’s suggestion that the case is now “OVER,” that will be news to the judge and the prosecutors who are still intensely engaged in it.

Meanwhile, it appears that Trump has directed one of his congressional cronies to launch an assault on Willis. Jim Jordan, the GOP chair of the House Judiciary Committee, just issued a subpoena for Willis to appear and deliver documents. As reported by CBS News…

“House Judiciary Committee chairman Jim Jordan subpoenaed Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis for documents related to an investigation by the GOP-led panel into allegations she misused federal funds, accusations she has denied.” […]

“Republicans on the Judiciary Committee have been looking into Willis’ use of federal funds during her office’s investigation into former President Donald Trump and his alleged scheme to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election in the state.”

This is another flagrant of abuse of power by Jordan. His committee has no jurisdiction over state prosecutions that are still in progress. His intention is to disrupt the prosecution in an effort to rescue his Dear Leader Trump. It won’t go anywhere. And coming from Jordan, who is currently still failing to comply with a congressional subpoena of his own, it could not be more ludicrous and transparently vindictive. Willis issued a response saying that…

“These false allegations are included in baseless litigation filed by a holdover employee from the previous administration who was terminated for cause. The courts that have ruled found no merit in these claims. We expect the same result in any pending litigation.”

In his delusion, Trump seems to think that these vicious tactics will get him off the hook for his multitude of crimes. He’s going to learn the hard way that judges and juries are not as easy to fool as his glassy-eyed cult followers. And if he needs any reminders of that, he just needs to ask E. Jean Carroll.

Is Trump Ditching Loser Lawyer Alina Habba to Appeal the $83 Million E Jean Carroll Judgment?

It was just a matter of time. Following last week’s historic $83.3 million judgment against Donald Trump for sexually assaulting and defaming writer E. Jean Carroll, Trump is maneuvering to shift the blame for his own despicable actions away from himself and unto any handy patsy within arm’s reach. Unfortunately for his attorney, Alina Habba, she happened to nearby.

Donald Trump, Woman, Fear

Trump’s notorious tendency to throw allies under the bus speeding, out of control freight train, ought to give anyone considering working with him pause. That’s especially true for lawyers, who he is known to stiff after they have provided their services (just ask Rudy Giuliani). Which in some sense is understandable since he generally refuses to heed their legal advice anyway. Particularly if it involves advising him to keep his fat mouth shut to avoid making things worse.

In the wake of the massive Carroll judgment, Trump continues to pretend that others are responsible for his legal tribulations. In a post-midnight comment on his failing social media scam, Truth Social, Trump posted what appears to be a help wanted ad for new legal representation. He is either terminating Habba, or bringing in reinforcements due to her obvious incompetence. The post began…

“I am in the process, along with my team, of interviewing various law firms to represent me in an Appeal of one of the most ridiculous and unfair Witch Hunts our Country has ever seen – The defamation Sham presided over by a Clinton appointed, highly partisan, Trump Hating Judge, Lewis Kaplan, who was, together with certain other Radical Left Democrat Judges, one of the most partisan and out of control activists that I have ever appeared before.”

This is a rare example of Trump making a good decision. Throughout the Carroll case Habba demonstrated that she was wholly unqualified to defend Trump in the matter. She did little more than screw up the defense and antagonize the judge and jury. While Trump doesn’t directly criticize Habba, his search for new lawyers says clearly enough that he was less than satisfied.

Habba didn’t help herself after the judgment when she filed a letter with the court citing a story in Rupert Murdoch’s disreputable New York Post that said Judge Lewis Kaplan had “mentored” Carroll’s attorney, Roberta Kaplan. Habba called the situation “insane and so incestuous,” and alleged that it was an ethics violation. Attorney Kaplan responded, saying that the “allegations are utterly baseless,” and suggested that she might seek sanctions against Habba. That resulted in Habba quickly retreating, essentially asserting the legal equivalent of Emily Litella’s precedent setting “Never mind!.”

Meanwhile, Trump is also lashing out at Judge Kaplan in a manner that is typical of the world’s biggest crybaby and perennial victim. Anyone who does anything that reflects negatively on Trump is robo-tagged as a “highly partisan, Trump Hating…Radical Left Democrat,” engaging in “ridiculous and unfair Witch Hunts.” But Trump went even further to rage that Judge Kaplan was…

“…a ‘bully’ who demanded two trials, rather than one, denied me Due Process, would not allow me to put forth vital evidence (of which there was much!), and only allowed me to be on the witness stand for minutes, telling my lawyer what to ask, and telling me to only give one word answers, as his wife and friends sat in cordoned off front row seats watching with glee.”

Let’s take a moment to set the record straight here…

  • The judge did not demand two trials. That was Trump’s doing by first defaming Carroll, then, after losing the first lawsuit, defaming her again. Which led to the second hearing.
  • Trump was not denied due process. He was given a fair hearing before a jury of his peers, that complied with established legal procedure, and with his chosen counsel representing him.
  • He was not allowed to present evidence because this wasn’t a trial to determine guilt or innocence. That was established in the first trial. This hearing was only to ascertain what, if any, additional damages would be awarded as a result of his continued offenses.
  • He could have given more testimony, so long as it was in compliance with the court’s rules and not an effort to relitigate the case or dispense campaign propaganda. His lawyer chose to ask only three questions, probably to avoid giving the plaintiff’s attorney more opportunities during cross examination.
  • He was never instructed to give one word answers.
  • Who cares who was in the courtroom and whether they were enjoying themselves? That has nothing to do with the proceedings or the judgment. Most of America was likely experiencing some measure of glee.

Trump closed with a peculiar conclusion that actually contains a morsel of insight…

“This entire HOAX is a disgrace to our American System of Justice. Any lawyer who takes a TRUMP CASE is either ‘CRAZY,’ or a TRUE AMERICAN PATRIOT. I will make my decision soon!”

The truth is that Trump himself is “a disgrace to our American System of Justice.” Not to mention our system of politics. However, given the choice that he presents as to the status of his lawyers, it’s a pretty safe bet that most people would regard anyone who represents Trump, knowing what we know about him, would have to be “CRAZY.”
