Fox News Advises Criminals (e.g. Trump) to Commit Crimes in Red States to Get Friendly Juries

Next Monday there will be a historic first in America. The nation will commence the first criminal trial of a former United States president. The defendant, Donald Trump, has been whining plaintively that “Nothing like this has ever happened before.” And in another historic first, he’s right. But only because no other president has ever been such a brazen perpetrator of crimes.

Monday’s proceedings involve Trump’s election interference and federal election financial fraud, in a matter that the media is soft-pedaling as the “Hush Money” case. Trump has been shamelessly conducting his years-long crime spree in the open, convinced that he is entitled to violate any laws he chooses with impunity. He literally confesses to the charges against him, but argues that an imaginary doctrine of “presidential immunity” releases him from any legal consequences.

Naturally, Trump’s Ministry of Propaganda, Fox News, is buttressing his ludicrous legal excuses with equally bizarre rationale. Like Trump, they believe that he cannot be held accountable for any of the 88 felony charges currently pending against him, but that President Biden has no such immunity and must be immediately incarcerated without trial or evidence.

However, in a segment on Saturday morning, Fox and Friends co- hosts Rachel Campos-Duffy and Pete Hegseth went even further to offer legal counsel to any conservatives watching who might be contemplating committing any crimes…

Campos-Duffy: You know, maybe subconsciously people are realizing, you know, I could have trouble with the law at some point. Something could happen to me. Do I want to be in a red state or a blue state, you know? This is a case where, you know, the outcome of your case is determined by the jury pool and where you’re at. And so, you know, I think it’s interesting that maybe you wanna be in a red state if you’re conservative, because at least you’ll get a, you know, a jury of your peers. Somebody who will…
Hegseth: He wants a fair shake.

First of all, what allegedly professional television communicator inserts the interjection “you know” six times in a brief comment? Does she have any idea what she’s talking about? And who are these prospective criminals (including herself) that Campos-Duffy says are “subconsciously realizing” that they’re gonna have trouble with the law?

More to the point, Campos-Duffy is affirmatively advocating that conservatives plan and execute their unlawful deeds in red states (i.e. states populated and governed by Republicans), where she believes they will be given more favorable treatment by the potential jurors there. In effect, she’s asserting that red states are more tolerant of crime and criminals. Which might explain why, contrary to GOP gaslighting, crime rates are actually higher in red states.

What’s more, Campos-Duffy thinks that “a jury of your peers” means jurors who are aligned with you politically. Which, of course, is preposterous. Clearly her opinion is driven by her hopes that a jury of Trump supporters would acquit him, not because he’s innocent, but because they are idolatrous cult disciples who don’t care that he’s guilty.

Notice also that Hegseth cuts Campos-Duffy off at the end of her remarks to prevent her from saying that a defendant in a red state could get a jury with “Somebody who will…” What? Let him off the hook? Hang the jury? Let’s face it, Trump and his ilk are not looking for a “fair shake.”

So Trump’s first criminal trial is set to begin Monday in his home state of New York. But that doesn’t satisfy the Trump-fluffers at Fox News. They have actually argued that “fairness” would require a venue change to someplace like Alabama. Now Fox is warning any aspiring felons that “maybe you wanna be in a red state if you’re conservative.” And if they are listening, we may see a surge of crimes by conservatives in MAGA Land. Where “at least you’ll get a, you know, a jury of your peers.”

Trump Brags that Truth Social is the ‘Voice’ of His ‘Movement’ and Begs His Cult to Support It

Shortly after Donald Trump incited the violent insurrection at the Capitol on January 6, 2021, he was banned from Twitter in order to prevent him from fomenting more riots by spreading more lies about the 2020 presidential election being “rigged and stolen” from him.

In retaliation for that preventative measure by the responsible moderators at Twitter at the time, Trump launched his own social media site, Truth Social, that he promised would be a bastion of free speech for everyone. Of course, that was never the purpose of the site. It was always intended to be a platform for Trump to disgorge his rancid rants that consisted almost entirely of attacking his enemies, exalting himself, and funneling cash into his own pockets. The latter of which hasn’t worked out particularly well for him…

In the few weeks that the Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG) stock has been listed on the NASDAQ, it has suffered devastating losses. It has declined 62.5% from the high it hit on its first day of trading. Anyone who invested in it, and didn’t sell on day one, has already lost a bundle. It’s CEO couldn’t account for its flopping on Fox News. And it’s only gonna get worse.

Consequently, Trump is attempting to pump up the stock so that there is something left for him when he is legally able to dump it. Which, barring any favors from the TMTG boar, won’t be for six months. So on Friday morning Trump posted a comment on Truth Social to beseech his glassy-eyed cult disciples to bail him out.

“I am so proud of Truth Social, because I believe it represents the Make America Great Again Movement, and it shows the Spirit and Love of our Country. If people who believe in putting America First and want to Make America Great Again, support TRUTH, we will be your Voice like never before, and a Real Voice is what our Country needs, because we are in decline, and must bring America to Greatness. Think of this as a Movement, the Greatest Movement in the History of our Country. We are going to Save our Country, and Make America Great Again, GREATER THAN EVER BEFORE!”

Let’s set aside the pathetic spectacle of this fake billionaire begging his saps to salvage his sinking social media scam. And never mind the absurdity of Trump praising it as a place that “shows the Spirit and Love of our Country,” when it’s mostly a fetid swamp of hostility and negativity. Even in this comment Trump maligns America as a country “in decline.”

What Trump is actually revealing here is that the site is not, and never was, the Internet “town hall” that he promised. He is now saying explicitly that it is his vehicle to exclusively promote his interests and to advance his “movement.” And therefore, he implores his MAGA minions to “support TRUTH.” In other words, join and prop up his failing business and stock.

So according to Trump, Truth Social isn’t really a free speech platform at all. It’s the PR arm of a partisan movement (aka cult), and slush fund generator for Dear Leader. But if it were truly “the Greatest Movement in the History of our Country,” he wouldn’t have to shamelessly solicit this support, and sponge off of his pitiful flock, and lie about his imaginary success. But then again, when has he ever done anything but that?

Trump spent his term in office pandering to the likes of Vladimir Putin of Russia, and Muhammad bin Salmon of Saudi Arabia, in order to rake in cash to prop up his failing real estate enterprise. And he spent his years after being evicted from the White House fleecing his flock of cult followers with flagrant lies about “rigged and stolen” elections and whining about being justly prosecuted for his multitude of crimes.

Virtually everything Trump does is an appeal for funds. Consequently, he has resorted to hawking cheesy merchandise such as gold sneakers and a Trump-endorsed bible.

On Wednesday morning Trump spawn Eric was interviewed on Fox News by Brian Kilmeade, co-host of Fox and Friends. During the segment Eric let slip a bit of the truth about his father’s compulsive greed…

Kilmeade: For six to eight weeks, he [Donald Trump] could be stuck in a New York courtroom. That’s Monday through Thursday, eight to 10 hours a day. How do you overcome that? What’s the plan to overcome it? It’s not gonna be a surprise.
Trump: Every single time he walks into a courtroom, millions and millions of dollars flow in because the American people know exactly what’s happening to him. And you have a judge who has a family member who literally profits off of these cases. She was making millions and millions off of these cases. Whose Twitter profile is literally my father behind bars, and that’s what New York has become.”

So according to Mr. Eric, Daddy Morebucks is profiting bigly from his misadventures in the judicial system. That shouldn’t surprise anyone. Trump has been shamelessly and repeatedly begging for donations from his cult to rescue him from the reaches of the law. He’s pretending that it’s all a huge conspiracy to destroy him. For instance, on the same morning as this interview, Trump posted a comment on his failing social media scam, Truth Social, bemoaning the dreadfulness of his pathetic life, saying that…

“The White House Thugs should not be allowed to have these dangerous and unfair Biden Trials during my campaign for President. […] On Monday I will be forced to sit, GAGGED, before a HIGHLY CONFLICTED & CORRUPT JUDGE, whose hatred for me has no bounds.

Poor thing. What’s surprising is that Eric is admitting on national television that Daddy Trump’s plaintive wailing about being allegedly persecuted are bullcrap. He isn’t really seething with the anger that he pretends to have. He’s actually thrilled with the wealth that it’s generating. Eric makes that clear by answering the question as to how Trump will “overcome” being “stuck in a courtroom” by replying that it isn’t a burden that needs to be “overcome” at all. It’s a strategy that he’s pursuing.

In addition to that revelation from Eric, he also blatantly lies that the judge and his daughter are “making millions and millions off of these cases.” They are not, and he doesn’t even bother to provide any hint of proof of slanderous accusation. He also accuses the judge’s daughter of posting a picture of him behind bars. That has also been proven to be false.

So the next time you hear Trump lamenting his fate, remember that, according to Eric, it’s really just another grift by the Trump Crime Family. And the only reason he is running at all is to cash in financially, and to stay out of prison.

HUH? Fox News Reports that the Eclipse is a Clandestine Plot to Sneak Migrants Into America

There is no way that they would be satisfied wasting untold hours reporting on a rare celestial event without some sort of propaganda to boost Donald Trump and his agenda of hate and lies.

Well, all of that hard work paid off as Fox News aired a segment about the eclipse on Monday morning’s episode of “America’s Newsroom.” Rather than fiddle with irrelevancies like facts on astronomical events and history, or interviews of scientists, Fox News bravely forged an uncommon path to reveal something that the rest of the media had missed or was deliberately suppressing…

Host Dana Perino: “A rare celestial event collides with a policy failure on the ground. The southern border will be directly in the path of totality today when the moon covers the sun for nearly four minutes.”
Host Bill Hemmer: We are told that officials are bracing for higher traffic than usual. And that means a real opportunity for smugglers and cartels and migrants to come right in.”
Correspondent Bill Melugin: While everybody is gonna be looking up, if you’re looking down here at the border, here is what you’ll see. Take a look at the video from nearby New Mexico, which is seeing a surge of illegal alien evaders […] You’ll see illegal immigrants dressed in dark clothing, sometimes camouflage, trying to sneak into the United States.

That’s right! The eclipse is really a clandestine operation by liberals – probably run by the evil mastermind, President Biden, and financed by George Soros – aimed at smuggling terrorist migrants into America to vote for Biden and other Democrats. Who knew? And who but Fox News would expose this nefarious plot?

The America-haters responsible for devising this plan to create a deluge of foreign “invaders” – in a four minute cloak of darkness – have thought of everything. Including dark and camouflage clothing to keep them from being spotted in the unprecedented absence of daylight. Naturally, Fox News ignores that there are about twelve hours of darkness every day when the earth itself blots out the sun. Is Biden responsible for that too?

This kind of reporting is somehow accepted by the MAGA cult that watches Fox News. They are the same people who are asserting that the eclipse is a warning from god to repent. Which raises some interesting questions. For instance, if it is a warning from god, then why is it being thrust upon the people of Texas and other Southern states first? Wouldn’t that imply that they are the sinners?

What’s more, if the eclipse is creating an opportunity for migrants to enter the U.S., then wouldn’t it be more logical to assume that god is trying to help the migrants flee violence, poverty, and oppression, and find freedom and safety in America? That, at least, would be consistent with the bible’s advocacy of welcoming and caring for refugees.

This is where it is important to stress that searching for logic in the ravings of Fox News reporters and Republicans is likely to cause a traumatic brain injury. So remember on this day not to stare into the sun or try to decipher the irrational ravings of MAGA cult conspiracy theorists. This has been a public service announcement.

Fox News Host Asks Trump’s Truth Social CEO About its Stock Flop, Gets Babbling Lies in Response

The saga of Donald Trump’s frequent financial failures continues unabated into the 2024 presidential election cycle. The most recent example of a Trump enterprise that is destined to go belly up is his ego-driven social media scam, Truth Social, that he launched after he was banned from Twitter for posting flagrant and dangerous lies.

In its short history, the Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG), which runs Truth Social, has racked up an impressive record of failure. It has lost millions of dollars, been investigated for securities fraud, and seen its early investors arrested for insider trading. And to top it off, its newly listed stock suffered a massive meltdown, resulting in fortunes being lost by Trump’s most devoted supporters.

On Sunday morning Devin Nunes, the CEO of TMTG, and former Trump-fluffing GOP congressman, was interviewed by Maria Bartiromo on Fox News. The segment began with a surprisingly accurate summary of the troubles the stock encountered in going public. Bartiromo, ordinarily an ardent purveyor of pro-Trump propaganda, prefaced her interview with some uncharacteristically (for Fox News) factual information (video below)…

“President Trump’s media company has had a volatile two weeks. The stock finished down about 30% this week. The company, which operates Trump’s Truth Social platform, lost $4 billion in market value after gaining six billion in value during its debut on the Nasdaq two weeks ago. For 2023, Trump media posted a loss of $58 million on revenue and $4.1 million in a regulatory filing. The company also disclosed that its auditor had raised concerns about its ability to continue operating before its recent merger and IPO.”

OUCH! Bartiromo then introduced Nunes and asked him pointedly, “When would you expect this company to turn profitable?” Notice that Nunes never comes close to answering the question. Instead, he rambles incoherently about unrelated and/or imaginary obstacles that he says the company has faced. And true to the Trump ethos, the company was a victim of a devious cabal of covert enemies conspiring against it.

“Look, it’s important to remember that those numbers are based on what was the longest IPO in history. So we were over regulated. So if you actually look at the cost we built Truth Social – our beachhead against Big Tech, an impenetrable beachhead that everybody said couldn’t be done without using Big Tech companies – that was built for a fraction of what many of these Big Tech dinosaur companies were built for. So even if you take the ridiculous cost that it took us to get to this point, we are well positioned. Why are we well positioned? Because we have no debt. We’re coming out of this with no debt, a platform that works really, really well, that communicates to millions of people. And then we have $200 million in the bank.”

For the record, it was not the longest IPO in history. And his definition of “over regulated” just means having been required to comply with the same laws that every other company does prior to a stock market listing. If it was launched on the cheap, as Nunes claims, that’s apparent in how often it has crashed, including on the day it premiered on the NASDAQ. So much for it being “a platform that works really, really well.”

As for Nunes’ claims that the company is “well positioned” and free of debt, that reeks of stock fraud considering its huge losses, of which about 67% is interest on outstanding loans. Undeterred by reality, Nunes then unleashes a buzzword salad, saying that he is looking at “the entire ecosystem,” and asserting that the primary question his business is asking is “What does it take to make sure that we protect people in the United States and around the globe from these tyrants of Big Tech who want to silence them?” See? It’s all an altruistic venture for Nunes and Trump.

Of course, Nunes is not alone in his deceitful grifting. Trump has also been pumping this dump of a stock. A few days ago he posted a comment blasting all of his competitors as “those in the Radical Left Democrats Party who are failing at every level.” And he touted Truth Social as “the primary way I get the word out and, for better or worse.” It’s interesting that he acknowledges the “worse” part of that. Then he claimed that “people want to hear what I have to say, perhaps, according to experts, more than anyone else in the World.” And by “experts” he means his MAGA cultists and other assorted rubes, such as his army of disbarred attorneys and the incarcerated January 6th insurrectionists.

If Nunes’ appearance on Fox News is successful in getting some more of their viewers to buy TMTG stock Monday morning, it may get a bit of bounce. But in the end it is still likely to sink to a level approaching the amount of debt that Nunes says the company has – ZERO! And they will get what they deserve for believing an obvious con men.

UPDATE I: Apparently Nunes’ appearance on Fox News was not successful (surprise). Rather than the bounce he hoped for on the Monday morning following his interview, the TMTG stock dived another 10%, putting it down about 55% from it’s high, and below it’s opening price one the first day of trading.

UPDATE II: One week later, the stock is continuing to decline. So the company announced that it is issuing 21.5 million new shares, diluting the value even more.

YEAH RIGHT! Sean Hannity Thinks He Can Convince Democrats to Ditch Biden and Vote for RFK Jr

The campaign of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has been a bad joke from the start. He began seeking the nomination of the Democratic Party in a futile challenge to President Joe Biden. Recognizing the failure of that effort, he ditched the party and declared himself an independent.

Kennedy is hardly independent. He was recruited to run by Trump whisperer, Steve Bannon. His biggest donor also happens to be Trump’s biggest donor. He proudly poses for pictures with the likes of Russian asset Mike Flynn, and GOP dirty trickster Roger Stone, who are both longtime Trump flunkies. And he has been promoted regularly on Fox News.

In a flagrant dismissal of reality, Thursday night’s episode of Sean Hannity’s Fox News program featured Hannity giving a preposterous campaign speech aimed at converting Democrats from Biden supporters to Kennedy. You have to wonder who Hannity thinks he was preaching to. It’s not as if there are any Democrats watching his show or looking to him for advice on who to vote for. Nevertheless, Hannity spewed the following pro-Kennedy nonsense (with relevant annotations)…

“If you are a left-wing voter, Kennedy frankly gives you all the nutty Biden, Bernie Sanders, Green New Deal, climate denial, religious cult policies…”
[Hannity apparently thinks that he can be more persuasive by insulting the people he’s trying to persuade]

“…maybe without the corruption and sleaze and chaos, and he definitely knows what day of the week it is. Gotta give him credit for that. Let’s not forget, at just 70 years of age RFK Jr. is more than a decade younger than Joe Biden, and he’s more with it.”
[There is zero evidence any corruption by Biden. And Hannity’s attacks on Biden’s mental acuity are unfounded and tiresome. What’s more, Trump is also about a decade older than Kennedy, with real cognitive defects]

“He also supports affirmative action. He cut ads for the likes of Al Gore. He supported Hillary Clinton. He supported Obama. He supported every Democratic presidential candidate there is. So, for conservatives that maybe like his position on COVID, OK. Now take a look at the rest of the record. We’re only giving you fact-based information here.”
[Here is where Hannity gets to his real point. He isn’t really trying to persuade Biden voters (who aren’t watching his show) to vote for Kennedy. He’s trying to persuade Trump voters (his viewers) not to]

All told, Kennedy would be a much better alternate choice for Trump voters. He would fit right in with them because, for much of his political life, he has been a confirmed conspiracy theory crackpot. His unsavory associations with ultra right-wingers are anathema to Democratic principles. The GOP has adopted him as one of their own, and he is now the MAGA Republican Party’s favorite anti-Democratic stooge.

To anyone with open eyes and functional brain cells, it’s clear that Kennedy is a Republican stalking horse for Biden, if not an outright plant. Consequently, Fox News has never felt compelled to provide any factual basis for their flagrantly dishonest propaganda. It’s why they produce stories like the the one this week about President Biden allegedly prohibiting religious symbols on Easter eggs during the White House holiday event, when that was a rule that’s been in place for 45 years, including during Trump’s occupation of the White House. It’s why Fox News often winds up inadvertently slamming their own GOP allies who they regard as insufficiently committed to lock-step party uniformity, like good fascists…

On Thursday morning, Fox News host Harris Faulkner unleashed a segment wherein she disgorged her outrage at Democrats who she accused of distorting Trump’s words. Of course, Democrats have no need to distort anything Trump says, because his rhetoric is heinously offensive without any artificial alteration.

Nevertheless, Faulkner made the wholly unsupported allegation that some unnamed nefarious Democrat employed Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) to alter what Trump said at his cult rally in Michigan.

Faulkner: It didn’t happen the way the Dems say it did. Here’s a clip that Team Biden posted from Trump’s speech in Michigan this week…
Trump (Video): Democrats said “Please don’t call them animals.” I said “No, they’re not humans. They’re animals.”
Faulkner: Here’s what he actually said. Trump’s words. Actually said this…
Trump (Video): The 22 year old nursing student in Georgia who was barbarically murdered by an illegal alien animal. The Democrats said “Please don’t call them animals.” I said “No, they’re not humans. They’re animals.”
Faulkner: First of all, how in the world did they edit all those words together to even put something like what they had. That’s amazing. […] What are they using? A.I.?”

OMG: Did everyone notice that Faulkner’s video of Trump’s blatant racism said exactly the same thing as the video that Faulkner said was the work of Democrats? The only difference was Trump’s preface about the tragically murdered student (about whom he lied saying he had spoken to her family). But that didn’t change the racist context of his remarks at all. He didn’t call just the alleged murderer an animal. He said that “THEY are animals.” It was a clear reference to all migrants.

Contrary to Faulkner’s deliberate lie, there was no modification whatsoever, A.I. or otherwise. Her amazement at how Democrats supposedly “edit(ed) all those words together” is bizarre, considering that the words were identical. And this was her own video “proof” of some sort of Democratic deception? The real question is not “What are they using?” It’s “What is SHE using?”

And yet, the Fox News viewers will likely fail to see any problem with this bullpucky. They will swallow it whole and come away believing that Democrats manufactured everything that Trump said. And at the same time they will agree with everything that Trump said. That’s the nature of a cult. And Fox News is the Ministry of Disinformation for the Cult of Trump (aka the Republican Party), where Trump’s words can be simultaneously fake and correct.

Fox News and the GOP Are Now Dreaming of ‘Weaponizing’ the Justice Department Against Biden

Donald Trump’s MAGA Republican Party and its Ministry of Propaganda, Fox News, deserve some “credit” for one thing: They have an inexhaustible supply of the mindless bullheadedness required to persist in pushing preposterous pseudo-legal smear campaigns despite having lost every attempt to spread their lies and malice.

Joe Biden, GOP, Elephant

Republicans in the House of Representatives have spent more than a year “investigating” President Biden and his family, searching desperately for any shred of evidence that he committed some unarticulated crime. And despite having the power of the majority in the House, they have come up empty every time. Even worse, their own witnesses have testified that Biden has never done anything remotely illegal or impeachable.

None of that, however, has dissuaded them from their malicious mission to denigrate Biden and his family, and to subject them to vicious personal attacks without any basis in reality. And naturally, Fox News is right beside them to buttress their lies and defamation.

On Wednesday morning, Senior Fox News Trump-Fluffer, Maria Bartiromo, interviewed Rep. James Comer (R-MAGA), chair of the House Oversight Committee. And undeterred by the utter lack of any new or evidence or testimony, they resumed wallowing in the sort of dishonesty that resulted in Fox News having to pay $787 million for lying about election fraud. Bartiromo began with a question that included her own obvious bias…

Bartiromo: What else can you do get some accountability after all of this information that you say you’ve dug up?
Comer: I think the two best options moving forward are obviously criminal referrals and then impeachment. Impeachment is still on the table. There’s still an overwhelming majority of Republicans that agree with me that Joe Biden has committed impeachable offenses. Now our confidence level in the Senate is very low, but at the end of the day the criminal referrals are something that I believe – if we don’t have a Department of Justice today, hopefully in a year we will have a Department of Justice that can hold him accountable. But we’re gonna have the tools in place to hold this family accountable for the criminal wrongdoing that they have committed one way or the other.

Virtually every word of Comer’s reply is untrue. He has no path forward for impeachment, or he wouldn’t be resorting to criminal referrals. And he has no path forward for criminal referrals because their is no evidence of any crime, and the Department of Justice will surely laugh it off. Furthermore, Comer does not have an “overwhelming majority of Republicans” on his side or he would have brought it to the House floor for a vote.

What Comer is actually announcing is that he expects Trump to “weaponize” the Justice Department (something that Trump and the GOP regularly whine about) to prosecute his political opponent if he were to reoccupy the White House. Which would be peculiar since Trump insists that presidents have “total immunity” from any criminal prosecution.

Apparently Fox News and Comer disagree with Trump. And Trump will disagree with himself if the opportunity arises, because he couldn’t care less about being consistent or even rational. The only thing Trump ever cares about is whatever he can bend to his self-interest at the moment.

Of course, none of this comes to pass if Biden is reelected. In which case, Comer’s “two best options” are losers before they even leave the gate. Which is a situation that he should be familiar with by now, considering all the losing he has suffered through so far.

THANKS DON: Trump’s Bashing of Mail-In Voting Has Created an Enduring Advantage for Democrats

Donald Trump has been especially upset lately over the criminal trials that he is subject to as a result of his compulsive misconduct and disrespect for the law. For the most part his outrage is expressed in pitiful whining that he is the victim of corrupt and/or biased prosecutors and judges who are engaging in “election interference.”

Donald Trump, Vote By Mail

To be clear, what Trump regards as election interference is merely that he is finally being held accountable for his many crimes – at least 88 felony charges so far. And that’s not counting the defamation and rape, and financial fraud civil lawsuits that he has already lost, and for which he has had to post a quarter of a billion dollars in appeal bonds. Needless to say, that has triggered another Trump tantrum…

In light of Trump’s conviction that “OUR ELECTIONS ARE CORRUPT” (as he posted Tuesday morning), this would be a good time to reexamine Trump’s ideas for ensuring fair and secure elections. For years he has insisted that early voting and mail-in voting are irreparably contaminated by fraud and must be terminated. However, that position is creating some serious problems for the republican Party that he is supposed to be the leader of. NBC News is reporting that…

“National Republicans are attempting a shift to embrace mail-in and early voting to match what’s been a Democratic advantage in recent years.

“But interviews with nearly 20 Republican officials and voters across the country say there is lingering, and sometimes fierce, resistance to the idea — from Trump on down. The schism signals potential peril for the party in the fall if it once again fails to match Democrats’ on-the-ground ballot organization.

“It starts at the top. As the leader of the Republican Party, Trump has used his position to blast, without evidence, mail-in voting as a Trojan horse for widespread voter fraud. In the process, the former president has eroded trust in a method that was once widely embraced by many people in his party, putting Republicans at a disadvantage against Democrats.”

Indeed, Trump’s anti-mail-in voting obsession is making it harder for the GOP to bank votes in advance of an election. That results in lower turnout and higher campaign costs attempting to reach voters on election day and get them out to the polls. As GOP officials try to encourage early voting, Trump’s glassy-eyed cult disciples refuse to engage in a practice that their Dear Leader has instructed them is infected with nasty, democratic corruption.

Among the GOP officials encountering this obstacle is Trump’s daughter-in-lawlessness, Lara Trump, who he recently installed as co-chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC). Lara herself has been busy alienating her fellow Republicans. And she recently told the CPAC crowd that…

“If we want to compete with the Democrats, we cannot wait until Election Day. If we want to compete and win, we must embrace early voting. The days of waiting until Election Day to vote are over.”

Too bad her Sugardaddy-in-Law doesn’t agree with her. As recently as February Trump has been making the rounds of MAGA TV to warn his supporters to refrain from early and mail-voting.

“Mail in voting is totally corrupt. Get that through your head. It has to be. The votes. I mean, it has to be.” […And…] “If you have mail-in voting you automatically have fraud.”

Trump, of course, has good reason (in his warped mind) to oppose mail-in voting. And he isn’t afraid to reveal it to the world. Just to make sure that there wasn’t any confusion, Trump laid out specifically what the problem is with it.

“Any effort to dictate national Mail-In Voting will be a disaster for our Country and for conservatism. There will never be a Republican elected to high office again.”

And there you have it. However, what Trump seems oblivious to is that what he regards as a warning is likely to be viewed with delight by most Americans. The prospect that “There will never be a Republican elected to high office again,” is really more of a reward than a threat. So as for early and mail-in voting – bring it on. And let the Trumpies honor their hero by staying home and not succumbing to the corruption of American democracy.

Trump Sends His Easter Greetings to ‘Those Many People that I Completely and Totally Despise’

One of the best indicators of the malignant narcissism of Donald Trump is his consistent practice of making any and every holiday an opportunity to exalt himself. He does it on Christmas, and New Year’s, and Thanksgiving, and even on the Fourth of July.

Flaming Trump

Of course, Trump can’t let any day go by without grasping for attention by lavishing praise on himself and/or scorn on his enemies. Buy he’s even more consumed with his own glorification on holidays that are observed by others. Heaven forbid that any day of remembrance be wasted remembering someone other than Trump.

FOR INSTANCE: Trump’s Craven Christmas Prayer for Presidential Immunity and an End to Yuletide Witch Hunts

On this Easter Sunday Trump has once again demonstrated his messianic delusions in a post on his floundering social media scam, Truth Social. As usual, it was a long, rambling, tirade that threw in every pet peeve that he has been harboring for years. And all of it wrapped up in what he regards as a holiday greeting. He began…

“HAPPY EASTER TO ALL, INCLUDING CROOKED AND CORRUPT PROSECUTORS AND JUDGES THAT ARE DOING EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO INTERFERE WITH THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION OF 2024, AND PUT ME IN PRISON, INCLUDING THOSE MANY PEOPLE THAT I COMPLETELY & TOTALLY DESPISE BECAUSE THEY WANT TO DESTROY AMERICA, A NOW FAILING NATION…”

Let’s pause to take a breath here. This is another example of Trump making everything about himself. Notice that Trump did not address his Easter greeting to any observant Christians who are celebrating the resurrection of their savior. True to form, Trump is filled with anger and hatred, resulting in his message being directed solely to those upon whom he seeks those famously Christ-like traits of retribution and revenge. And naturally, he denigrates America simply because its citizens have not embraced him as their deity.

Trump went on to single out as “SICK” and “EVIL” special prosecutor Jack Smith, Fulton County, Georgia District Attorney Fani Willis, and New York D.A. Alvin Bragg. In his haste to post his contemptuous screed he forget to include New York Attorney General, Letitia James. But he didn’t leave out President Biden in a reference to “CROOKED JOE’S DOJ THUGS.”

This post came after more than 70 other posts on Easter morning. So even though his Easter greeting was mired in malice, it still didn’t have any priority over dozens of other posts such as his attack on Judge Merchan’s daughter, and his link to an article (in the Moonie Washington Times) comparing him to Christ titled “The Crucifixion of Donald Trump.”

What’s more, Trump posted comments lambasting Biden for a couple of phony outrages that were being spread by right-wing media. Such as…

  • The White House Easter Egg contest that restricted the use of religious symbols on the eggs. Never mind that those rules have been in effect for 45 years, including during the Trump years.
  • The wingnut uproar over the declaration of “Transgender Day of Visibility.” Once again, that was an event that has been recognized for since 2010, including while Trump occupied the White House.

And yet, the glassy-eyed disciples of the Trump cult remain transfixed by the rapist and blasphemous bible salesman with 88 felony charges pending, as their divine, albeit autocratic, redeemer. And Happy Easter to all those who continue to pledge their devotion and intention to follow Trump, straight into the pits of Hades if he so demands.
