4REAL! GOP Senators Oppose Ketanji Brown Jackson for Supreme Court Because She’s Too Qualified

The Republican Party has for decades devoted itself to a platform of nothing more substantive than obstructing the good faith efforts of Democrats to advance the interests of the American people. They are proudly anti-government, which makes them a dreadfully poor choice for holding any position of power in the service of the public.

Donald Trump, Republican, GOP

The GOP (Greedy One Percent) is a party that is defined mainly by what they are against. They oppose taxes, immigration, the environment, consumer protections, and the rights of voters, minorities, women, and workers.

Now, as President Biden’s nominee for the Supreme Court, Ketanji Brown Jackson, is being confirmed by the Senate, the Republican members of the Judiciary Committee have revealed themselves to be steadfastly against justices who have the “drawbacks” of being experienced and qualified.

RELATED: Tucker Carlson of Fox News Says Biden Chose Ketanji Brown Jackson to ‘Destroy’ the Supreme Court

This characterization of Republican obstructionism is not hyperbole. It can be heard in their own words as they announce their intentions to vote against Judge Brown. The Daily Show has helpfully complied the statements of opposition by the Committee’s GOP blockaders, who shamelessly maligned Judge Jackson during the hearings, along with their utterly unreasonable reasons for doing so:

For the record, the Republicans featured in this video are John Cornyn, Josh Hawley, Mike Lee, Marsha Blackburn, Thom Tillis, Chuck Grassley, and Lindsey Graham. And they all delivered remarks that at first effusively praised Jackson’s qualifications and integrity, before announcing that they would vote against her. It’s almost as if Jackson’s qualifications and integrity were the reasons for their “no” vote. And in a sense that’s true.

Republicans are scared witless of intelligent and accomplished people like Jackson because it blows apart their malicious mission to portray them all as moochers, criminals, and degenerates. And they are so averse to the notion of confirming an admirable Black woman who was nominated by a Democratic president that they have allowed whatever measure of rationality, principle, or patriotism to leak out of their tiny, partisan, racist minds.

RELATED: Fox News Floats Ludicrous New Criteria For Confirming Biden’s Supreme Court Nominees

To date the vast majority of Republican senators are planning to vote against Jackson. Only three have have indicated that they will vote to confirm her (Lisa Murkowski, Susan Collins, and Mitt Romney). And what they get for their bipartisan integrity is rancid animosity from fellow Republicans like Marjorie Taylor Greene who tweeted…

That sort of repulsive defamation is standard operating procedure for the GOP. It’s also not surprising coming from the party of QAnon that has been so obsessed with crackpot conspiracy theories about child abuse and sex trafficking run out of pizza parlor basements. That’s seriously the devolutionary state of today’s Republican Party. And while The Daily Show is adept at ridiculing it, the comedy only goes so far when the reality is even worse.

Connecting the Dots: Trump Begs Putin for Dirt on Biden While Russia Calls Trump Their Partner

The long festering and treasonous infatuation that Donald Trump has for Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is a well documented fact. It was apparent even before Trump’s occupation of the White House, an electoral catastrophe that Putin admits to having engineered.

Click here to Tweet this article

Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin

Trump’s reliance on Putin can be seen as early as July of 2016 when he asked Russia to hack Hillary Clinton’s emails. Trump then spent most of his single term in office taking Putin’s side over that of the U.S. Yet he still has the gall to file a preposterous lawsuit against Clinton (and several dozen others) claiming that his Russia-lust was “fake news.”

Now Trump has taken his adoration of Putin down to another new low. While Russia is currently engaged in a genocidal assault against America’s democratic ally Ukraine, Trump just asked Putin, our enemy’s leader, dig up dirt on our President and his family. And he even brags about this via his Twitter ban defying spokes-shill. In this interview by a right-wing website Trump says that…

“As long as Putin is not exactly a fan of our country… Let him explain why did the mayor of Moscow’s wife give Joe Biden, both of them, $3.5 million? … So now I would think Putin would know the answer to that. I think he should release it. Now, you won’t get the answer from Ukraine.”

For the record, there is as much evidence of these allegations by Trump as there is of the election fraud he is still ranting about – NONE! These charges have been debunked repeatedly. Not that Trump cares about these facts, or any others.

In the meantime, Trump’s Russian pals are eager to embrace him and his mouthpieces on Fox News. Respected Russia watcher Julia Davis recently reported on how Russia’s state-run TV is re-airing Tucker Carlson’s program and parroting baseless charges against the Bidens:

“These days, [Russian] state television draws on a bounty of translated quotes almost exclusively from two Western voices: Tucker Carlson of Fox News and former U.S. President Donald J. Trump. [and that] Russia’s Defense Ministry released a colorful diagram, purporting to demonstrate that President Joe Biden’s son Hunter, is secretly bankrolling the Pentagon’s biolabs in Ukraine.”

So while Trump is clinging to, and praising, his Russian confederates, the Russian government and media is dispensing his propaganda. And they are not the least bit shy about this sordid relationship. Russian TV host Evgeny Popov recently opined that

“It is time for us, for our people, to call on the people of the United States to change the regime in the U.S. early, and to again help our partner Trump to become president.”

That’s a remarkable statement. First of all, Popov is advocating the “early” removal of President Biden from office by means that he doesn’t disclose. And then somehow replacing him with Trump, also by some mysterious mechanism. Popov also confesses that Trump is Russia’s “partner” whom they wish to help “again.” Presumably like they did in 2016 and, unsuccessfully, in 2020.

Now that Trump and Russia are openly talking about their nefarious partnership, it is all the more obvious why Trump would solicit Putin’s help in manufacturing scandals to malign Biden. It is an unsavory relationship that is also flagrantly unpatriotic. Yet both parties to this heinous hookup are proudly extolling it. And let’s not forget that Fox News and the Republican Party are firmly and comfortably behind all of it. You really have to wonder how any loyal American citizen can tolerate this blatant betrayal.

Trump’s Irrelevance is Increasing, as are His Pitifully Delusional Attempts to Pretend it’s Not

Donald Trump has resumed his scheduling of the MAGA cult rallies that bring together America’s Most Gullible. He’s already held four of them this year. But the attendance and enthusiasm that he once enjoyed has visibly declined as his repetitive shtick gets tedious and unbearable, even for his glassy-eyed disciples.

Click here to Tweet this article

Donald Trump Pacifier Fox

There are reports that the crowds at Trump’s ego-fluffing affairs are shrinking, with many of his fickle flock leaving while he’s still on stage raving about his alleged genius or ranting about being a poor, wretched victim. He posted four tweets (via his Twitter ban defying spokes-shill) whining that the “Fake News” was misreporting the “massive crowd” at his latest rally in Georgia. For example…

We had a massive crowd last night in Georgia, but as usual, the Fake News Media absolutely refuses to show it. People are estimating 25,000 to 35,000 people.”

And…

Massive crowd last night in Georgia even despite the cold weather, the enthusiasm was unbelievable. David Perdue, running against horrendous Governor Brian Kemp, who let the Election be Rigged and Stolen, is seeing a very big surge.”

However, Newsweek collected reports from correspondents on the ground who told a very different story:

“[T]here’s probably no more than 5,000 people here [and that] People keep leaving during Trump’s speech. It’s cold and windy and there’s not much enthusiasm.”

In addition to that delusional misrepresentation of reality, Trump’s assertions about Republican gubernatorial candidate David Perdue, who Trump endorsed in fit of vengeance after the incumbent governor, Brian Kemp, refused to go along with Trump’s “Big Lie” that the 2020 election was “rigged,” are wildly off kilter. Trump tweeted that…

“David Perdue, who is a wonderful man, and incredible family, and really got screwed by Kemp, is the only candidate in this race who can beat Stacey ‘the hoax’ Abrams this November. And you know the reason for that is because Trump voters — MAGA — Trump voters will not go out and vote for Kemp. They’re not going to vote. And let’s say it’s gonna be a close election. I happen to think that Georgia is a very red state. I think it’s red as hell”

Trump is effectively encouraging a voter boycott by Trumpian Republicans if his anointed candidate loses in the GOP primary. “Okay, fine,” say Georgia’s Democrats. Trump has already exposed himself to legal liabilities for trying to intimidate Georgia’s elected officials into “finding” (i.e. fabricating) enough votes for him to overturn the election in the state. And that’s only one of the civil and criminal cases that are pending against him.

RELATED: LISTEN: Trump Threatens Georgia Officials For Not Helping Him Subvert the Election

Unfortunately for Trump, Perdue, who lost his Senate seat last year to Democrat Jon Ossoff, isn’t turning out to be the savior that Trump was hoping for. In the latest poll of the race between Perdue and Kemp, Perdue is trailing by double digits.

So Trump’s influence in electoral endorsements is decidedly weakening. And his appeal to the cult members who populate his rallies is declining. That leaves only his social media presence that has been curtailed by his having been banned from most of the major platforms (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube). And the effort to launch his own Twitter clone is such a failure that even he doesn’t use it. And yet he is still trying desperately to present an image of success amidst his impotent flops. It’s almost too pathetic to watch. Almost.

UPDATE: An April 9 rally in North Carolina also failed to draw much attendance. Even Trump’s cult followers are bored with his repetitive shtick.

Kamala Harris Callously Mocked By Fox News for Caring About Children’s Access to Remote Learning

The American right is notorious for its insensitivity to the real problems that ordinary people deal with every day. Republicans repeatedly ignore – and even ridicule – any effort by Democrats to provide assistance to those who are struggling to get by under difficult circumstances. However, that same grit and determination is never demanded of the wealthy and privileged.

Fox News, Kamala Harris

Republicans believe that everyone should pull themselves up by their bootstraps, even they have no boots. And to illustrate that heartlessness right-wingers in the GOP and Fox News went on a petty rage-a-thon over something that Vice-President Kamala Harris said that, of course, they deliberately misrepresented.

Harris spoke at an event in St. Landry Parish, Louisiana, to promote the Biden administration’s investment in high-speed internet for rural communities. But rather than address the critical need for access to such services for school and commerce (full video below), the GOP and Fox News chose to malign Harris with childish and wholly unwarranted criticism:

Apparently the only thing that the Republican National Committee found noteworthy in Harris’ remarks was that she highlighted a segment of them for emphasis. There was nothing particularly unusual about that, despite their craven attempts to falsely characterize her as inarticulate. For the record, here is what Harris said in context:

“The governor and I were doing a tour of the library here and talking about the the significance of the passage of time, right? The significance of the passage of time. So when you think about it, there is great significance to the passage of time in terms of what we need to do to lay these wires, what we need to do to create these jobs.

“And there is such great significance to the passage of time when we think about a day in the life of our children, and what that means to the future of our nation depending on whether or not they have the resources they need to achieve their God-given talent.”

Naturally, the attack on Harris was regurgitated throughout the wingnut media. Fox News featured it several times with insulting commentaries by Sean Hannity, Brit Hume, Newt Gingrich, and the “Curvy Couch” potatoes of Fox and Friends, where Steve Doocy thought it would be funny to turn into a drinking game. That’s how the Fox “News” crew discusses the difficulties of children in rural communities who don’t have enough bandwidth to engage in remote learning.

In addition to the racist and misogynistic undertones of this assault, Harris’ critics remain blissfully ignorant of the oratorical catastrophes of their Dear Leader, Donald Trump. He has the vocabulary of five year old, at best. He is ill-informed, profane, and relentlessly self-exalting. For example, here he is during his 2016 campaign repeating five times that he “knows” better than anybody how to fix the system that admits he was a part of for decades:

I know it better than anybody that probably ever lived. And I will tell you this, I know the system far better than anybody else and I know the system is broken. And I’m the one, because I know it so well because I was on both sides of it, I was on the other side all my life and I’ve always made large contributions. And frankly, I know the system better than anybody else and I’m the only one up here that’s going to be able to fix that system because that system is wrong.”

Well, he had four years to fix it. How did that go? Here’s another example that deals with children and schooling during a pandemic wherein he repeats himself incessantly while making no sense whatsoever:

“My view is schools should reopen. This thing is going away. It will go away like things go away. And my view is that schools should be open. If you look at children, children are almost – and I would almost say definitely – but almost immune from this disease.”

I would almost say definitely that he is almost cognitively dysfunctional. Well, minus the “almost.” And it is Fox News and the GOP, the party of Trump, Sarah Palin, Dan Quayle, Louis Gohmert, etc., who now have the audacity to claim that Harris is stupid? I can almost keep myself from laughing out loud.

Hillary Clinton Hammers the Trump-Fluffing, Democracy-Hating, Radicalized Republican Party

The Republican Party in the era of Donald Trump has become a grotesque and dangerous political aberration. In its current rancid state it would be unrecognizable to members who recall even the relatively recent past when still hardcore conservatives like Bush and Reagan were its leaders.

Click here to Tweet this article

Fox News, Hillary Clinton

The Trumpists have transformed the GOP into a cult of personality wherein total obeisance to Dear Leader is mandated, and any deviation from total devotion is viewed as unforgivable disloyalty and sacrilege.

The manifestation of this amoral ministry is evident in the Party’s adoption of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin as a hallowed figure who is sanctified by Trump and favored by the Republican base over the popularly elected President Biden. Even the brutal invasion of Ukraine couldn’t pry a critical word about Putin from Trump. And Trump’s Propaganda Politburo (aka Fox News) was singing from the same hymnal. Especially Putin lover Tucker Carlson.

This decaying of a once mainstream party has not gone unnoticed. And the latest observer to raise a red flag is former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton. In an op-ed in The Atlantic, Clinton wrote about “A State of Emergency for Democracy.” The article made the point that “Trump has always had a personal attachment to Putin.” But Clinton went further to highlight how the rot has traveled down from the fish’s head (Trump) to its body (the GOP). What follows are a few choice excerpts:

“Russian president Vladimir Putin pines for the old Russian empire and takes Ukraine’s independence as a personal affront. But the invasion of Ukraine is not a limited regional dispute between neighbors. […] Ukraine is one flash point in a larger global struggle between democracy and autocracy — one that stretches from the steppes of Eastern Europe to the waters of the Indo-Pacific to the halls of the U.S. Capitol.”

“Much has been said about the assault on American democracy by a radicalized Republican Party […] Republican leaders are abandoning core tenets of American democracy.”

“It was dismaying but not surprising that Trump praised Putin’s move to recognize and occupy separatist enclaves in Ukraine as ‘genius’ and ‘savvy.’ That’s what we have come to expect from Trump. But even Republican leaders who still take a Reaganesque view of America’s role in the world and talk a good game about deterring Russia and competing with China are undercutting those goals by aiding and abetting Trump’s attacks on America’s democratic institutions.”

“Those Republican leaders promising tough sanctions on Putin’s economy and inner circle seem helpless to tamp down the pro-Russian sentiment in their party ignited by Trump, fanned on a daily basis by Tucker Carlson on Fox News.”

Clinton was remarkably prescient about the dangers of a Trump presidency and his unsavory association with Russia and Putin. In August of 2016 she posted an article on her website that asked “5 questions every voter should ask about Donald Trump’s bizarre relationship with Russia.” Voters still need to ask those questions. However, it isn’t just voters who should be questioning Trump and his Republican confederates. The media, the Democrats, and even conscientious Republicans (the few that might be left) should be concerned about the direction the GOP has taken.

Clinton’s op-ed is a comprehensive analysis of the disintegration of the Republican Party. It’s no wonder that Trump and his cult followers are so adamant about destroying her. They recently embarked on a campaign falsely accusing her of spying on Trump. And Trump himself has suggested that Clinton should be executed for the imaginary crimes he’s accusing her of. That’s the demented leader of today’s Republican Party. And the rest of his glassy-eyed flock is faithfully following his lead.

Trump’s Cult of Republican Voters is Dwindling, but GOP Politicians and Press Remain Spellbound

A year after Donald Trump was evicted from the White House, there are finally some distinct signs that his cadre of glassy-eyed cult followers are tiring of his whining and lie-riddled bombast. Which isn’t surprising because it would take a cast iron gut to tolerate any more of Trump’s self-pity and victimhood.

Donald Trump Messiah

As evidence of Trump’s weakening grip on his doting deplorables, a new poll by Quinnipiac University finds that the formerly fawning flock of Republican faithful are far less infatuated with Trump today than they have been in previous surveys. When asked if they agreed more with Trump or his former VP Mike Pence about whether Pence had the power to short-circuit the certification of Joe Biden as the winner of the 2020 election, an overwhelming majority (72%) of all voters chose Pence.

However, that wasn’t the worst part of the poll results from Trump’s imperial perspective. Included in the nearly three-quarters of voters rejecting Trump was a majority (52%) of Republican voters siding with Pence. Only 36% of GOPers said they agreed with Trump’s utterly unconstitutional attempt to overturn the election. And for good measure, Independents (72%) also took Pence’s side over Trump’s.

Notwithstanding Trump’s malignant narcissism, he is not nearly as beloved by others as he is by himself. He repeatedly, and hysterically, calls himself “your favorite president.” He’s either referring to Biden or Obama, or he’s talking only to Ivanka and Sean Hannity.

The Quinnipiac poll isn’t the only indicator of Trump’s softening support among the American people. A CNN poll earlier this week found that 49% of Republicans don’t want Trump to be the GOP’s 2024 presidential nominee. And a Pew Research survey last week found that 67% of the respondents – including 41% of Republicans – said that Trump “bears some or a lot of responsibility for the violence and destruction committed by some of his supporters when they broke into the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.”

Despite Trump’s rapid descent into the depths of disgrace, he continues to remain popular among his congressional GOP Party apparatchiks and the Trump-fluffing press. The most recent examples of that inbred devotion is how quickly they lined up to peddle the “Durham Nothingburger,” a fallacious legal filing that has been misconstrued to accuse Hillary Clinton and her campaign of spying on Trump.

Fox News shills are as enamored of their Dear Leader as ever. The network buried breaking stories about Trump’s longtime accounting firm disavowing him and a decade of his financial statements. They’ve spent days trying to create a domestic version of the Canadian trucker convoy in order to sabotage the American economy. They flagrantly promote Russian propaganda that conflicts with American foreign policy priorities.

The feverish zealotry with which Fox News, and the Republicans who make their home on its air, slobber over Trump is becoming more disassociated with the American people every day. While the people are withdrawing from the twice-impeached, pathologically lying, crime family boss, and former reality TV game show host, the wingnut press and the GOP elites are embracing him with ever greater fervor. That’s a story of diverging paths that can only have a catastrophic ending.

How Stupid is Trump? He’s Bragging that 49% of Republicans Don’t Want Him to Run in 2024 (CNN Poll)

With each new day and damning disclosure, it’s getting more difficult to decipher the dementia exhibited by Donald Trump. As the legal walls close in around him he is becoming noticeably distraught. His outbursts are more outlandish and fraught with fear, incoherent absurdities, and impotent demands.

Donald Trump, Mocking Disability

The past several days have been particularly bad for Trump. He was discovered to have flushed documents down the toilet that the law requires him to preserve. He was thrown under the bus by both Mike Pence and Mitch McConnell. A bogus filing by special counsel John Durham was appropriately ignored by the press. His longtime accounting firm announced that they were ceasing to work for him and that ten years of his financial reports were ‘unreliable.” And even his legal lackey Rudy Giuliani is reported to be fully cooperating with the House Select Committee investigating the January 6th insurrection.

This avalanche of atrocious news may explain Trump’s curious behavior. On Tuesday morning his Twitter ban defying spokes-shill, Liz Harrington, posted a tweet enthusiastically announcing: “CNN POLL: 51 Percent of Democrats Do NOT Want Joe Biden as the 2024 Nominee”

Let’s just set aside that Trump usually dismisses CNN as “fake news.” At first glance this CNN poll may seem like something that Trump would be thrilled to pass on to his Tweeple. It suggests soft support for Biden in the next presidential election. However, what Trump left out is that the same poll shows that 49% of Republicans don’t want Trump to be the GOP’s 2024 presidential nominee. With the poll’s 3.3% margin of error, there is effectively no difference between the Democratic and Republican numbers. So what the heck is he bragging about?

Digging further into the poll finds even worse news for Trump. When the Democrats who said they would prefer a candidate other than Biden were asked why, 31% said it was because they didn’t want him to be reelected. When the same question was asked of the Republicans, 39% said it’s because they don’t want him back in the white House. So there are significantly more Republicans opposed to Trump running in 2024, than there are Democrats opposed to Biden.

Most of the rest of the respondents for both parties were divided among other concerns such as electability or age. It isn’t really surprising that Democrats might be open to candidates other than Biden. Democrats are a diverse community with an abundance of attractive political prospects. Unlike the GOP, they are not a party that is mired in blind idolatry and cult worship.

It’s also notable that, rather than linking to CNN as the source for the poll data, Trump’s tweet linked to the notorious Internet conspiracy crackpot, Gateway Pundit. That’s so that he could control what information was disseminated, how biased it would be presented, and how ignorant he would leave his followers.

That’s how Trump came to embrace a poll whose results proved precisely how unpopular he is within his own party. And it isn’t the first time he’s had this kind of mental meltdown. Just last week Trump boasted about a Pew Research survey that showed that 67% of the respondents – including 41% of Republicans – said that he “bears some or a lot of responsibility for the violence and destruction committed by some of his supporters when they broke into the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.”

At this rate, Democrats could just sit back and wait for Trump to keep pointing out what a pitiful failure he is, and how much people can’t stand him. But they must not. Democrats still need to take the lead in educating the public and providing positive messaging for the upcoming campaigns in 2022 and 2024. It will take fierce determination and unyielding commitment to defeat the innate disadvantages built into the Electoral College, and to overcome the obstacles that the GOP has been building to suppress the vote. Democrats definitely have their work cut out for them. But it’s still nice of Trump to help them make their case.

Trump’s Deranged Response to Mike Pence Sends the Republican Party Skidding Into Disarray

Former Vice-President Mike Pence managed to crawl out from under his rock to make a bit of news on Friday. He gave a speech to the ultra-rightist Federalist Society during which he made his first feeble foray into finding fault with his former boss, Donald Trump.

Donald Trump, Republican, GOP

Taking a break from his typical Trump-fluffing, Pence ventured into the subject of his role during the January 6th insurrection. That role was solely to carry out the constitutionally mandated certification of the Electoral College votes for president by Congress. But in his remarks to the Federalists, he responded to Trump’s ludicrous assertions that he was empowered to overturn the election. Pence made a surprising departure from the Trump Cult Doctrine that the deadly riots were peaceful protests and Trump’s claim that he could halt the proceedings. Pence said that…

“Trump is wrong. I had no right to overturn the election. The presidency belongs to the American people and the American people alone. And frankly, there is no idea more un-American than the notion that any one person could choose the American president. Under the Constitution I had no right to change the outcome of our election.”

That’s a pretty emphatic repudiation of Trump’s self-serving, nonsensical blathering on the subject. Not that Pence deserves much credit for this unexpected eruption of honesty, considering it took him more than a year to deliver it. Still, calling Trump “wrong” and “un-America” was more than what most Republicans have mustered the courage to do.

Predictably, Trump was perturbed by Pence expressing any opinion that differed from his own. So he lashed out on Twitter (via his Twitter ban defying spokes-shill) to castigate his former number two saying that…

“Just saw Mike Pence’s statement on the fact that he had no right to do anything with respect to the Electoral Vote Count, other than being an automatic conveyor belt for the Old Crow Mitch McConnell to get Biden elected President as quickly as possible. Well, the Vice President’s position is not an automatic conveyor if obvious signs of voter fraud or irregularities exist.”

Trump spat out a twofer there, also snarling about Republican Senate minority leader, Mitch McConnell. It’s puzzling that Trump thinks his infantile characterization of McConnell as an “Old Crow” is some sort of epic burn. First of all, Trump is almost as old as McConnell. And crows are considered to be intelligent and cunning. Trump might have been better off calling him an old turkey. But that’s more descriptive of Trump than McConnell.

More to the point, it’s preposterous that McConnell had any desire to hurry the election of President Biden. McConnell is a rock-ribbed conservative who has been an obstacle to all things Democratic for decades. Undeterred, Trump went on to repeat his ignorant misinterpretation of the law governing the certification process. He still thinks that Pence could have scuttled Biden’s election, and has the delusional impression that he “was right and everyone knows it.” Also, there are no “signs of voter fraud or irregularities,” obvious or otherwise. And everyone but Trump and his sycophants know it.

Ironically, Trump has become the most destructive critic of the Republican Party. He has called for GOP incumbents to be primaried. Particularly those who seek the truth about his role in plotting the insurrection, such as Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger. It is likely that the GOP’s censure of them was at Trump’s behest. That’s evident in the language used, calling out Cheney and Kinzinger for “engag[ing] in a Democrat-led persecution of ordinary citizens who engaged in legitimate political discourse.” That’s what the GOP thinks took place on January 6th when the StormTrumpers violently invaded Congress and injured more than 140 police officers.

Yet somehow, the press reports that Democrats are in disarray because two small-state senators out of fifty have broken an otherwise unified party.

So who will Trump’s Republican Party censure next? Mike Pence? Mitt Romney? George Bush? Mitch McConnell? Lindsey Graham? They are a small but significant contingent of the Party’s most prominent names. However, most of the Party is still supporting Trump. And therefore, they also support violent insurrection and Trump’s “Big Lie” that the election was “rigged” and “stolen” from him. But most of all they must support the sentiment with which Trump closed his anti-Pence tweet, saying that “our Country is going to hell!” Which is just Trump, once again, revealing his own agenda America’s future.

Trump Explains How He Plans to Steal the Next Election in Video Message to Republican Group

Just over a year ago, Donald Trump and his confederates attempted to stage a coup against the United States. The January 6th insurrection resulted in a violent mob invading the Capitol, interfering with the constitutionally mandated duties of Congress, vandalizing the historic seat of America’s government, causing over $30 million in damage, and injuring more than a 140 police officers.

Donald Trump Tyrant Dictator

Ever since that day, Trump has not only denied any responsibility, he has actually bragged that it was a peaceful and patriotic event, that he “loved” the domestic terrorists who stormed the Capitol, and that the “real” insurrection was Election Day, November 3, 2021. What’s more, Trump has signed on to Tucker Carlson’s crackpot conspiracy theory that the riots that Trump denies took place were orchestrated by the FBI.

The gross criminality of the January 6th seditionists was fueled by Trump’s relentless and baseless assertions that the 2020 presidential election was “rigged.” In the year that has transpired he has utterly failed to provide even a shred of evidence to support his claims. But now he is providing evidence of his own efforts to rig future elections.

In a video that Trump produced for a group of Republicans in Pennsylvania, Trump sought to explain why he thinks they should devote more of their resources to campaigns for offices that have jurisdiction over election processes, such Secretaries of State. He said that…

“We have to be a lot sharper the next time when it comes to counting the vote. There’s a famous saying that sometimes the vote counter is more important than the candidate. And we can’t let that ever, ever happen again. They have to get a lot tougher and smarter.”

Trump is openly articulating a plot to take over the administration of elections so that his apparatchiks can meddle with the voting to fraudulently produce the result he wants. It isn’t enough that Republicans have been passing laws in many states that suppress the votes of Democratic leaning citizens. His authoritarian aspirations now demand that the vote counting functions be put into the hands of his fellow fascists.

For the record, the “famous saying” that Trump is referring to is one that is attributed to one of his tyrannical heroes, Joseph Stalin, who has been reported to have said that…

“I consider it completely unimportant who in the Party will vote, or how. But what is extraordinarily important is this—who will count the votes, and how.”

Whether or not Stalin actually said that is irrelevant. Trump’s believes he did and his reference to it is as clear as day. It is completely in line with Trump’s well documented fixation on notorious dictators. While discussing his record on foreign relations during a recent appearance with Bill O’Reilly, Trump admitted his perverse admiration, saying that the world leaders he “got along best with were tyrants. For whatever reason, I got along great with them.” Which shouldn’t surprise anyone given his affinity for, and subservience to, Vladimir Putin.

This video wherein Trump is quoting what he believes to be Stalin’s method of dealing with democracy should alarm every American. Trump is clearly setting up the 2022 midterm elections as a rehearsal for his own attempt to regain power in 2024. And he isn’t the least bit shy about revealing his nefarious intentions. Which makes it all the more critical that Democrats and honest Republicans (if there are any left) to join together to pass the voting rights legislation currently being debated in Congress. American democracy is literally hanging in the balance.

THANKS! Trump Spokesperson Convincingly Explains Why No One Should Vote for Republicans

The volume of disinformation that regularly emanates from Donald Trump and his self-serving, perpetual propaganda machine is unprecedented. Trump himself has been documented to have told more than 30,000 lies during his occupation of the White House. But now his super Pac hack is uncharacteristically telling the truth about the Republican Party.

Donald Trump, Republican, GOP

RELATED: Cowardly Republican Party to Require Their Presidential Candidates to Boycott 2024 Debates

Despite Trump’s record of deceit, every now and again someone in the Trump realm inadvertently allows a morsel of truth to escape into the wild. And on Friday morning the culprit was Trump’s official mouthpiece (and Twitter ban defying spokes-shill), Liz Harrington. In one of her regular appearances on the shamelessly Trump-fluffing One America News Network (OAN), Harrington was fed the softest of balls by OAN’s Natalie Harp (video below):

“The Republican Party isn’t the establishment party anymore. It’s the people’s party. They’re determining the direction of the party in terms of legislation, America First. That’s not what they’re used to. And yet somehow they think that they can point out the Cheneys and the Bushs. Don’t they realize we all rejected that during the primaries in 2016?”

Let’s just set aside the nonsense that the party that gets the most financial and institutional support from corporations and wealthy elites can be portrayed as “the people’s party.” And it is those one-percenters who have always determined the party’s direction. It is, however, notable that Harp admits her inclusion in the Trump Cult saying that WE all ejected that during the primaries in 2016.” But it was Harrington’s response that let the cat out of the hag:

“They [Republicans] all been exposed for the frauds that they are. They’re as fraudulent as the last election. And the people have seen through that and they want the real thing. They don’t want another fake substitute, another fake election where there’s really no difference between the two candidates on the ballot. They might say they are a different party, but the end result, they’re not the same. The Cheneys of the world, the Pelosis of the world, the McConnells, they all want endless wars. They all want open borders. They all want bad trade deals for the United States. They do not care about our sovereignty. They do not care about our jobs. And they can pretend to care about issues of the day.”

And there you have it. Directly from the horse’s mouth. Trump’s tweet-meister reveals that the Republican Party is full of warmongering, immigrant-bashing, economy-destroying “frauds.” Democrats and most rational Americans have known that for years (decades?). But it’s good to hear them confess their corruption publicly.

Trump himself has emerged as the most anti-Republican Republican in the party’s history. His hostility toward leaders of the Party such as Mitch McConnell, whom he now calls the “broken old crow,” is typical of his lust for vengeance against anyone showing signs of dwindling devotion. Trump has even demanded that his cult disciples refrain from donating to the GOP, and place their offerings on his plate instead. “No more money for RINOS,” Trump decreed, “Send your donation to [his] Save America PAC.”

This might seem like good news for Democrats. With Trump bashing the GOP and trying to intercept their donations, it should benefit Democratic candidates in the upcoming midterm elections. And it probably will, to a degree. However, Trump’s influence appears to be waning within the Republican world. The most recent party financial disclosure shows that the GOP raised $140 million in 2021. Which is still less than the $146 million Democrats raised. But it shows that GOP donors aren’t heeding Trump’s order to send their funds to him.

You know Trump’s gotta hate the fact that people are ignoring his orders. Perhaps that’s why he dispatched Harrington to OAN to throw more mud at his fellow Republicans. Because, in the end, all Trump cares about is how much money and adoration he can collect from his dimwitted followers. The more he sees those measures decline, the more panicked and incoherent he will become. And by that standard, he is already pretty far gone.
