Fox News Can’t Keep Its Lies Straight About Biden’s Vaccine Outreach Initiative

As the nation continues to battle the deadly coronavirus pandemic that Donald Trump so badly mismanaged, Fox News continues to mislead their viewers and foment irrational fears based on outright lies. They have a burning obsession with finding fault for anything and everything President Biden does whether it’s real or not, and regardless of the harm it causes.

On Friday morning’s episode of Fox and Friends, co-host Brian Kilmeade unleashed another of his frantic, factless tirades aimed at disseminating a flagrantly false narrative about Biden. The subject was the President’s latest initiative to save American lives by promoting the safety, effectiveness, and availability of vaccines. Fox News and the Republican Party of Death have already been maligning this initiative, with some characterizing it as a Nazi-style infringement on freedom. And in the spirit of that insanity, Kilmeade said to…

“Ask yourself if you have a problem with this. They’re gonna knock on your door. They’re gonna demand that you take it. And they’re gonna give you a third shot.”

Of course, none of that has even a passing resemblance to the truth. Nevertheless, Kilmeade went on to rant that “It’s unbelievable how offensive his administration is getting with a pandemic that is clearly on the run.” Apparently Kilmeade hasn’t heard that the Delta variant of the virus is surging in (mostly Trump) parts of the country. For the first time in months the infection and hospitalization rates are going up.

However, in a rare display of honesty, another Fox News anchor delivered some factual information about the Biden outreach program. Gillian Turner interviewed Fox News contributor Marc Thiessen and presented him with what the program is actually doing. Thiessen, however, wasn’t moved:

Turner: In the Biden administration’s defense, they’re insisting with this door-to-door strategy they’re not showing up with needles. They’re not showing up with shots. Nothing is happening on your front doorstep in front of your neighbors. They are not gonna come jab you. But what they are trying to do is get information to you. They are trying to make sure that you know these shots are free, that you are eligible, where you can go to get one. It’s an information sharing operation, they say. Does that assuage some of your concern at all, or not really?
Thiessen: Not really. I don’t want people showing up on my doorstep before knowing my vaccine history.

Turner made some excellent points, putting the program’s mission into the proper context. So expect Fox News to make her disappear for a few weeks while she is undergoing reeducation. As for Thiessen, what the heck is he talking about? Does he want people to get his vaccine history before showing up on his doorstep? To be clear, the outreach program will not collect information about people’s vaccination status. It will be targeting geographic areas that are known to have low vaccination rates. And no one will be required to get a shot, or even listen to the volunteers in the field.

Thiessen went on to complain that Trump wasn’t included in a public service ad that featured all of the living former presidents promoting the vaccine. He implies that Trump was deliberately left out. There is, however, no proof of that. In fact, it was Trump who demonstrated his disinterest in promoting the vaccine (that he nevertheless claims credit for) by getting vaccinated secretly in January and not disclosing it until weeks after he left office.

Furthermore, Trump has declined all previous attempts to appear with the other former presidents. And when asked about his non-participation in this ad, Trump repeatedly refused to respond. That doesn’t sound like he was left out. Were that the case he would be whining about it ceaselessly and complaining about how mean everyone is to him.

Thiessen concedes that it is Trump country that is lagging in vaccinations. So he wonders why the Biden administration doesn’t recruit Trump to]“go to Mississippi and do a public service ad, or do something out there telling people to get vaccinated.” As if Trump would do anything at the request of the President that he has been yammering about for months, saying that he isn’t really the President. Turner reminds Thiessen that Trump “could also do that on his own” and that he doesn’t need “to wait for a formal invitation from the White House.”

I hope no one is holding their breath for Trump to visit Mississippi to help their residents get vaccinated and avoid severe illness and death. That would take time away from his golfing and his cult rallies where he pays tribute to himself, insults his critics, and perpetuates the “Big Lie: that the election was stolen from him. And everybody knows that those are his only priorities. He can’t be bothered with saving lives.

GOP Attack on Biden’s Job Creation Success Actually Exposes Trump’s COVID Failures

There is a peculiar tendency on the part of Republicans to brag about things that, in reality, demonstrate their own negligence, incompetence, or deliberate malfeasance. For example, there was the time that a Fox News guest once inadvertently affirmed that Donald Trump has Been a lifelong racist. Or the time that Trump inadvertently admitted that he caused hundreds of thousands of COVID deaths.

These are not merely episodes of inattention to the criticism they’re attempting to dispense. They are the result of being so determined to invent some hurtful scandal that they completely lose track of their own false and vicious narrative. And on Saturday, the Republican Party provided another example of this mental defect as they attempted to disparage President Biden’s historic success with job creation. The GOP tweeted that…

Oddly enough, this political assault differs from the usual malarkey emanating from the Republican’s knee-jerk negativity in that it contains a morsel of truth. There are about 9.5 million Americans still unemployed. However, there are a couple of glaring problems with what the GOP is whining about.

First and foremost, they are purposefully ignoring the indisputable good news that 850,000 jobs were created in the latest report for the month of June. And three million jobs have been created in the five months since Biden was inaugurated. That is, as Biden noted, “more jobs than have ever been created in the first five months of any presidency in modern history.” Wages are also reportedly higher.

Where the GOP lost this argument with themselves is their complaint that “At the current pace under Biden, the economy WILL NOT recover all the lost jobs until JUNE 2022!” Conceding for the moment that the pace of job creation won’t increase, Republicans are still admitting to a fact that they don’t seem to recognize. The reason that so many jobs need to be created is that Donald Trump so badly mismanaged the COVID pandemic that millions of jobs were lost that otherwise would not have been.

And that says nothing about the hundreds of thousands of lives lost unnecessarily due to Trump “downplaying” the deadly crisis (which he admitted), his hostility to scientific guidance on social distancing and mask wearing, and his bungling of the vaccine distribution. All of which was aided by Fox News, especially pandemic “truther” Tucker Carlson.

In the end, the only thing that the GOP tweet does is reinforce how dreadfully bad Trump and his Republican confederates failed the American people in their time of need. And when the facts are spelled out, it makes it all the more clear that the Biden administration was there for the people, providing competence and compassion. So perhaps we should thank the GOP for creating an opportunity to clear this all up.

Nah, never mind. After all, they didn’t do it on purpose. And they don’t deserve thanks for their continuing idiocy.

In Desperation, Tucker Carlson of Fox News Resorts to Viciously Maligning Jill Biden

The mission of Fox News, as stated by its CEO, Lachlan Murdoch, is to oppose President Biden and the Democrats. “That’s what our job is now with the Biden administration,” he recently told a Morgan Stanley investor conference. But that apparently isn’t going very well.

Fox News is continuing to struggle to make a coherent case against Biden. Consequently, they’ve been resorting to lame, contrived “scandals” like whether or not he wears a face mask, or blaming him for a sauce shortage at Chick-fil-A, or mocking the romance in his marriage. And yet, despite devoting all of their antagonistic resources to it, they just can’t seem to shake his broad-based popularity.

The most stridently offensive perpetrator of unadulterated bullpucky on Fox News is without question Tucker Carlson. He has been wallowing in the muddiest of swamps with hysterical and dangerous conspiracy crackpottery (It’s too absurd to even call them “theories”). For instance…

Having had zero success tarnishing Joe Biden’s public image, Carlson has decided to go after his wife, Jill Biden. In a deranged diatribe on Thursday night, Carlson gathered up his most cretinous scowls and insolent demeanor to launch a flurry of unvarnished contempt at the First Lady (video below). Complaining about a recent profile in Vogue Magazine, he ranted that…

“Dr. Jill is a doctor, first and foremost. In one scene from the Vogue piece, Dr. Jill cradles the arms of nervous women who get the jab. ‘Look at me,’ she coos reassuringly. ‘It doesn’t hurt.’ That’s right. It’s only Kool-Aid. Drink the whole cup. As Dr. Jill puts it with her signature modesty, you try to lift up other people.”

This is typical of the vile misogyny that Carlson, and the rest of the Fox News hate mongers, regularly dish out at any strong, intelligent, and admirable woman. He is belittling her for having attained a doctorate in education. Then implies that her concern for others somehow associates her with a murderous Christian cult. Carlson continued, pouring on the sarcasm…

“Who is this amazing woman? This servant, saint, humanitarian genius medical missionary who somehow has managed to stay beguilingly sexy at 69? What did America do to deserve her? Well thankfully, Vogue answers that question. Dr. Jill, the magazine declares, is a, quote, ‘joy multiplier.’ She multiplies joy. That’s what she does! It’s who she is. And by the way, Dr. Jill also shot an 18 on the golf course last week. Played the whole round in 22 minutes between vaccinations and international treaty signings. It was a typical day for Dr. Jill.”

The irony of Carlson painting Dr. Biden as an object of idolatry is too rich for words. No one has elevated her to anything resembling the figure of adoration that Carlson is insinuating. And there has been nothing remotely similar to the divine status that has been conferred on Donald Trump by his worshipful devotees. Carlson himself is among the most adulatory disciples of the Cult of Trump. And Fox News is cult’s Ministry of Disinformation. But Carlson still wasn’t through…

“Back in North Korea, they must have read the latest issue of Vogue with their jaws open. A ‘joy multiplier’? A ‘joy brigade’ sure. But “joy multiplier’? That might be too far even for the Kim family. North Korea may be a hermit kingdom, but even they’re not that stupid.”

It’s clear that Carlson has fallen over the edge of sanity. He’s now comparing Vogue Magazine to the government controlled propaganda of North Korea. Does he stay up late to figure out these preposterous departures from reality?

Even worse, his reference to Dr. Biden being part of the “joy brigade” is nauseating in the extreme. His not-so-thinly-veiled reference is to the Nazi “Joy Division” that was comprised of young Jewish women in concentration camps who were forced to be sex slaves for German soldiers.

Carlson is demonstrating that he is a disgusting piece of allegedly human trash. He’s a coward who attacks the President’s wife because he’s too stupid to come up with a coherent criticism of the President. And his insults are among the most repulsive imaginable. Nevertheless, Fox News continues to support him, his program, and his noxious views. And their viewers eat it up like good cultists.

On Fox and Friends Lara Trump ‘Cancels’ Fox News Poll Showing Biden with 56% Approval

The mission of Fox News was recently disclosed by the network’s CEO, Lachlan Murdoch. He told a Morgan Stanley investor conference that it is Fox’s job to be the opposition saying that “That’s what our job is now with the Biden administration […] That’s where our audience is.”

True to form, Fox News is carrying out their mission at every opportunity. Their so-called “news” reporting is comprised almost entirely of attacks on President Biden, his administration, and the overwhelmingly popular Democratic agenda. In fact, Fox is advancing their anti-Democratic propaganda even when when it means burying the results of their own alleged journalism.

This week Fox News released the findings of a poll they conducted that apparently produced results that contradicted their right-wing narratives. The poll showed that Biden is enjoying a 56% approval rating. However, that’s the sort of truth that Fox News doesn’t want to burden their audience with. Consequently, what would ordinarily be the topline news in the story was pushed further down in an obvious attempt to bury it.

Biden’s approval rating was literally the last line in the article on Fox’s website. The headline didn’t even mention it, reading “Fox News Poll: Majority believes COVID-19 leaked from lab in China.” What’s more, Fox barely acknowledged that the poll even existed on their network. And one of the few mentions of it was this segment of Fox and Friends where Lara Trump, a Fox News contributor, described the poll as “illegitimate”:

Kilmeade: How do you explain his approval rating, according to Fox’s poll, is 54 percent? [Note that Kilmeade got the number wrong]
Lara Trump: I mean, I truly don’t believe that. I don’t think that is a legitimate number. I also think he gets totally coddled by the mainstream media. Every time you see him truly asked a question by so many of these outlets they’re these softball questions about ice cream. And really they don’t push him on anything. They don’t follow up on anything the way we know they would with Donald Trump. And he just gets glowing reviews all around from the mainstream media. So very clearly, people who tune into those outlets are not getting the full picture on Joe Biden. But I cannot believe that anybody would have his approval rating anywhere over about negative 5% at this point.

Imagine that. Trump called Fox’s poll illegitimate on Fox’s air. Co-host Steve Doocy meekly inserted his view that Fox stands behind their polls. But it wasn’t much of defense after Trump’s tirade. And we’ll just set aside the absurdity of anyone on Fox News complaining about “coddling” and “softball questions” after four years of sucking up to Donald Trump.

A previous appearance by Trump since she became an employee of Fox News caused a bit of stir when she advocated violent vigilantism by residents of border towns against refugees. “I guess they better arm up and get guns,” Lara warned, “and be ready, and maybe they’re gonna have to start taking matters into their own hands.”

The Fox News mission to disparage Democrats and democracy is in full effect. In just the past couple of weeks for example, they have been bashing Vice-President Kamala Harris for both going to, and not going to, the border. They stand behind Tucker Carlson’s nauseating conspiracy theories attacking the FBI and the U.S. military. They are deliberately misleading viewers about voting reform and Critical Race Theory. And they literally take the side of Russia’s Vladimir Putin over Biden and the U.S.A.

That’s how Fox News rolls. And their anti-America, unpatriotic, lie-riddled assault on the values and principles of the nation will continue until the people who Fox is disinforming pull the veil of deception from their eyes. Sadly, the nature of the Trumpian cult to which they are devoted is going to prevent that for the foreseeable future.

FLOP NEWS: Now Fox News is Very Upset that Kamala Harris Visited the Border

Three months ago Vice-President Kamala Harris was tasked with investigating the root causes of immigration and developing potential solutions. And every day since then Fox News has marked how many days it has been between her receiving that assignment and visiting the border. It was a thoroughly contrived criticism considering that her physical presence on the border had little to do with the task that she was assigned by President Biden.

However, Fox was counting with daily headlines like this one just yesterday: “Kamala Harris has gone 93 days without visit to border since being tapped for crisis role.”

To be clear, Harris’ role was to confer with leaders in the region and attempt to mitigate the reasons that compelled people to migrate to begin with. It was a humanitarian mission to help refugees, not a law enforcement function. But from the perspective of Fox News it was just an opportunity to politicize a serious problem and to callously exploit desperate, fearful people fleeing poverty and violence.

After meetings with the presidents of Guatemala and Mexico, Harris was prepared to conduct a more productive visit to the border, rather than the sort of meaningless photo-ops that Donald Trump would engage in. So you might think this would satisfy Fox News who had been relentlessly attacking her for not going. But almost immediately Fox News flipped the script and began bashing her for going.

Now that Harris has completed her trip to the border, Fox News has is demonstrating how pitifully predictable they are with an avalanche of hostile and journalistically hollow coverage. These are the headlines from a single day on Fox’s website:

Once again, that’s all from Friday alone. Clearly, Fox News is obsessed. And their pretense of being a “news” network isn’t fooling anyone but the easily deceived disciples of their cult audience. They must have a full time propagandist composing all of those headlines and the fictional stories that accompany them. But what they obviously don’t have on their staff are any actual journalists. So, same as it ever was for Fox News.

Fox News, Who Attacked Kamala Harris for Not Going to the Border, Now Attacks Her for Going

Never let it be said that Fox News isn’t capable or adjusting their perspective when circumstances change. The problem is that they are usually adjusting an already warped perspective to one that’s warped even more. In the process Fox News can be relied upon to be wrong whatever the circumstance.

In March, President Joe Biden assigned Vice-President Kamala Harris the task of investigating the immigration issue and proposing potential solutions. And every day for the past three months Fox News has made it a habit to mark how many days it has been between her receiving that assignment and visiting the border. Never mind that her physical presence on the border was in no way required for the task that she was assigned. Her role was to evaluate the problems that lead to migration in the first place, not law enforcement.

However, the task that Fox News was assigned was to plant disparaging stories in the media about all things related to Biden and his administration. That usually took the form of bizarre trivialities that served no purpose other than to attack Harris. Some of the petty criticisms included the time she allegedly disrespected Memorial Day, or the time she supposedly caused an international incident, or the time she allegedly profited off of selling her books to migrant children. None of those contrivances contained a shred of truth.

On Wednesday it was announced that Harris would be making a trip to the border later this week. So you might think that Fox News would be satisfied that their hectoring had produced their desired, albeit disingenuous, result. You would be wrong. After spending months attacking Harris for not going to the border, Fox News quickly shifted gears and is now attacking her for going. Witness this exchange between Fox’s Peter Doocy and White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki:

Doocy: Why is the Vice-President visiting the border this week when earlier this month she dismissed a trip like that saying it would be a grand gesture?
Psaki: She also said in an interview with NBC that she would be open to going to the border if it was an appropriate time.

So Doocy’s first question on the subject was to complain that Harris is now going to do what he had been previously complaining she hadn’t done. What’s more, he was dishonestly framing his question so as to ignore the fact that Harris had always said that she intended to visit the border when the time was right. But she isn’t the “border czar,” and it wasn’t the focus of her task.

In fact, there are distinct disadvantages to a White House delegation arriving on the scene with the requisite security, media, and other distractions from the core duties of those working on real border problems. Self-serving photo-ops were the purview of the last administration.

Harris’ visit will now be undertaken with a foundation of knowledge acquired from her summits with the leaders of the countries in the region. It now has greater potential to be more productive, rather just a political stunt. What would have made it a “grand gesture” would have been to go without the preparation needed to make the trip worthwhile.

But Fox News is narrowly focused only how they can spin it negatively. And it’s a safe bet that they will harshly condemn whatever she ends up doing while she’s there. Just like they did while Biden was abroad last week to meet with leaders from Europe and Russia, and Fox’s primetime propagandists demonstrated their unflinching loyalty – to Vladimir Putin.

PSAKI BOMB: Jen Psaki Scorches Jim Jordan for Gaslighting on Gas Prices

Nothing brightens the dawn of a new day more than the glare on the horizon of new Psaki Bomb, courtesy of President Biden’s illuminating press secretary, Jen Psaki. On a regular basis she enfeebles the hapless White House correspondent from Fox News, Peter Doocy.

However, on Monday morning the Republican Shrieker of the House, Jim Jordan, arose to hammer out a typically dishonest tweet aimed at disparaging Biden and deceiving the public. Unfortunately for Jimmy, Ms. Psaki was awake and aware of his twitter trolling. She replied in the manner that has distinguished her as both brilliant and more than a little snarky:

Indeed. Everyone who is the least bit informed about the economy knows that gas prices were artificially low last year due to that deadly pandemic thingy that caused folks to stay home. With demand down significantly, the gas companies reduced their prices. Now that the nation is reopening for business, people are moving about again, which increases both the demand and the cost of fuel.

Somebody needs to explain these simple concepts to Mr. Jordan. And Ms. Psaki is the perfect teacher. She helpfully included information about the sharply reduced unemployment rate. That’s another result of the Biden administration’s phenomenally successful COVID vaccine program that has enable people to return to the work and leisure activities they enjoyed prior to the pandemic.

Earlier in the day, Psaki was interviewed on CBS This Morning where she reiterated the Biden administration’s opposition to raising gas taxes:

“We need a few more details about the deal and about the proposal, including specifics about how to pay for it. An idea that’s been floating around there, that certainly the President would not support, is a gas tax which would raise taxes on people making less than $400,000.00 a year. We’re just not gonna stand for that. And we’re not gonna accept that.”

When will these right-wing cretins get it that they can’t use tactics that would work on jealous airheads like Kayleigh McEnany on Jen Psaki? The more they try, the more they humiliate themselves. Which, while it makes them look stupid, at least it’s entertaining for the rest of us.

That’s why they’ve been resorting to pitiful, manufactured “scandals” like whether or not he wears a face mask, or blaming him for a sauce shortage at Chick-fil-A, or mocking the romance in his marriage. But try as they might, they just can’t seem to shake his broad-based popularity.

The latest fetish on Fox is their “scoop” that Hunter Biden has taken up painting and his work is selling for big bucks. This earth shattering exposé was featured on Fox’s “The Five” where co-host Dagen McDowell was visibly shaken by this stunning affront to her alleged morals (video below):

“I guess his Burisma money ran out. Hunter Biden is apparently an artist now. He’s selling his abstract work for as much as half a million dollars per painting. So who’s buying this crap? Hunter’s art dealer says sales are confidential, which is raising the question, once again, of whether the First Son is selling access.”

This “crap”? Is she an art critic now? If so, she has some competition from her fellow co-host and noted art expert, Greg Gutfeld, who said that Biden’s paintings look like “tramp vomit” (or is it “trump”). And Jesse Watters chimed in with the obligatory conspiracy theory to explain everything:

“So you could have a Russian billionaire hand the Biden family a half a million dollars and the Biden family just gives the guy a water color back. And we’re not supposed to say wait a second? The media has no clue what’s going on here?”

Watters also claimed that this “violates every spirit of the law. […] It’s gotta be illegal to do this, right? It has to be illegal.” Of course, he didn’t bother to cite any legal statute that this supposedly violated.

For good measure, Fox’s Jason Chaffetz fleshed out the conspiratorial drama in a separate article for the Fox News website:

“Who just paid $500,000 to buy a painting from novice artist Hunter Biden? We don’t know. […] let’s think for a minute how convenient this arrangement might be for anyone wanting to buy access to the president of the United States. […] The purchases are confidential. Who is to know if it’s a foreign government, a drug cartel, or a Ukrainian oligarch buying access to the artist or his family?”

Without any evidence whatsoever, Chaffetz has implied that these art sales could have been made to foreign enemies and criminals. He also claimed that the sales themselves were just “a magnet for corruption.” Never mind that he doesn’t have a shred of proof to support his reckless charges. That isn’t important to these shameless character assassins. The only thing that matters to them is how much damage they can do.

For the record, the value of art is measured on fluid scale that takes into consideration both tangible and intangible factors. And the notoriety of celebrity (i.e. a president’s son) can significantly inflate the work’s selling price. That isn’t an indication of corruption. And confidentiality is not imposed by the artist. It is a contractual agreement between the buyer and the art dealer. So Hunter may not even know who the buyer is.

What drenches this in hypocrisy is that Fox News has never done similarly scandalous stories about Donald Trump whose corruption was right out in the open. His brazen profiteering while president included charging taxpayers for accommodations at his hotels and golf resorts for family, staff, members of Congress, Secret Service, political organizations, and yes, even foreign operatives with business before the U.S. government.

Some estimates of Trump’s ill-gotten gain go as high as $8,000,000 during his single term in office. And that isn’t even counting the untoward profiteering of Ivanka, Jared Kushner, and the rest of the Trump clan.

In Trump’s case we know exactly where the money was coming from (politically and financially conflicted parties), and where it was going (into his pocket). In Hunter’s case there is isn’t a hint of impropriety. Nevertheless, Fox News goes ballistic over Hunter’s innocent ventures, while ignoring Trump’s flagrant and self-serving fraud. Because that’s how organs of bias and disinformation work. And Fox News does it better than anyone.

Did Donald Trump Jr Just Admit Daddy Trump Was ‘Rolling Over on Everything’ for Putin?

It’s fairly obvious that the Trump family was cursed with a genetic tendency toward arrogance, entitlement, dishonesty, vengefulness, and most of all, glaring ignorance. The evidence of that is abundant in virtually everything Donald Trump had done in his failed presidency and his public life beforehand.

As affirmation of the old saying that the rotten apple doesn’t fall far from the diseased tree, Donald Trump Jr is establishing his birthright of idiocy – again. On Saturday morning the Trumpian spawn took to Twitter with what he surely thought was a scorching burn on President Joe Biden. The tweet referenced the recent summit that Biden held with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, In a flagrant attempt to sabotage the meeting in advance, the senior Trump spoke out to declare that he trusted Russia over the American President. That’s a position that Sean Hannity of Fox News shared.

Not wanting to be left out of the America bashing, Junior tweeted a reply to a report in the Moscow Times noting that Putin praised Biden as “sharp, attentive and professional.” Which is a far cry from the childish insults that Fox News has been spewing. Donnie posted this lame retort:

The magnitude of the stupidity here is massive. Is Junior really this dense and out of touch? No need to answer that. Just take a look at this tweet from last week that reported Putin’s praise for TFG (The Former Guy):

Was that also Putin’s “thank you note for rolling over on everything”? And way back in 2015 Putin said pretty much the same thing:

And who can forget the Trump/Putin press conference in Helsinki in July of 2018 when Putin admitted that he supported Trump’s candidacy and his cronies working on it:

That was the same press conference where Trump took sides with Putin over U.S. intelligence agencies regarding Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential election. So the love affair went both ways.

It’s more than clear that Trump was Putin’s lapdog since before he was elected, and throughout his single, twice-impeached, occupation of the white House. But it’s good to knw that Trump’s boy admits that receiving compliments from Putin is evidence of political subservience. Because no one has been more dutifully obedient to Putin than Donald Trump, the elder.

Trump on ‘The Blacks’: His Critical Race Theory Op-Ed Advocates Compulsory Ignorance

Another day, another revelation about just how despicable Donald Trump really is. A new book (Frankly, We Did Win This Election: The Inside Story of How Trump Lost) reports that Trump was upset that African-Americans weren’t more adoring of him. “I’ve done all this stuff for the Blacks,” Trump whines, “and they all f**king hate me.” That may be due in part to his repeatedly referring to them as “the Blacks.”

Trump’s dismay that his egomaniacal sense of entitlement to Black support hasn’t materialized might also be due to his overt racism that has been evident throughout his public life. After all, this is the same man who insisted that neo-Nazis in Charlottesville were “very fine people,” and that five Black men should be executed for a murder they didn’t commit, and that Barack Obama was an illegitimate president because he was a Muslim from Kenya.

On Friday Trump continued to display his bigotry in an op-ed (that he surely didn’t write) on Critical Race Theory (which he surely can’t define). It was headlined “A Plan to Get Divisive & Radical Theories Out of Our Schools,” and began by stating that…

“As a candidate, Joe Biden’s number one promise was to ‘unite’ America. Yet in his first months as president, his number one priority has been to divide our country by race and gender at every turn.

“There is no clearer example than the Biden administration’s new effort aimed at indoctrinating America’s schoolchildren with some of the most toxic and anti-American theories ever conceived. It is vital for Americans to understand what this initiative would do, what drives it and, most importantly, how we can stop it.”

Trump is attempting to malign Biden as divisive by claiming that there is an effort to impose an academic mandate to teach Critical Race Theory (CRT), a field of study of that is defined as an “attempt to understand how victims of systemic racism are affected by cultural perceptions of race.” Of course, Biden isn’t imposing anything of the sort. The recent freak out by the right on this subject is a canard intended to whip up the racist anxieties of the Trumpian Republican base. Fox News has been shamelessly misrepresenting it, and even staging phony interviews with GOP operatives pretending they are ordinary Americans who oppose it.

Trump’s op-ed goes on to accuse “the America-blaming left” of casting history in “the most negative possible light,” to advance “a new curriculum designed to brainwash” children. Never mind that CRT is generally only discussed at the college level. More importantly, it is simply a part of the nation’s history, and dismissing it would be an act of willful ignorance. Trump continued saying that…

“The key fact about this twisted doctrine is that it is completely antithetical to everything that normal Americans of any color would wish to teach their children.”

That, however, is merely an opinion and, by definition, not a “key fact” about anything. Additionally, it isn’t true, since many Americans approve of its teaching. A recent poll found that 38% regard it as “somewhat” or “very favorable.” And that’s an artificially low number due to the partisanship surrounding the issue created by biased “news” reporting from the likes of Fox News. The poll also found that 85% of Republicans, and 91% of Trump voters, regard it as “very unfavorable.” Trump went on to flagrantly lie that CRT…

“…teaches [children] that America is systemically evil and that the hearts of our people are full of hatred and malice. [That it] preaches that judging people by the color of their skin is actually a good idea. [And that] the Biden administration endorsed … inflicting a critical race theory-inspired curriculum on American schoolchildren.”

None of those assertions remotely resemble reality. But they do provide Trump with a fake pretext to suggest his solution to this imaginary problem. He says that “Congress should seek to institute a federal ban through legislation.” Really? A ban on teaching history? What’s next, book burning?

Much of what Trump proposes in his op-ed is simply the mirror image of the tactics that he condemns by Democrats, namely mandating curriculums based on a political agenda. The difference is that Democrats never actually proposed any such mandates, but Trump and the GOP are doing so now. Which may be another reason that “the Blacks” haven’t rushed to pay tribute to Trump. Well, unless we’re referring to them as Seth Meyers did at the White House Correspondents Dinner:
