GOOD NEWS: Super Tuesday Shows Biden and Democrats Far More Popular and United than Trump and MAGA

Super Tuesday has come and gone and, as expected, the leading presidential candidates of both the Republican and Democratic parties won the majority of their party’s delegates. Donald Trump and President Joe Biden prevailed in the respective races and will likely go on to become the nominees in November.

Joe Biden, Donald Trump

That, as is often the case, is not the whole story. The media is already offering simplistic, horserace analyses that misrepresent the most significant conclusions. They are pretending that the victories for each candidate are essentially the same and tell us nothing about how these contests reflect on the general election outcome. There is much to learn from these results, but don’t rely on media outlets like Fox News to reveal that.

SEE THIS: Trump-Fluffing Fox News Host Doesn’t Get It: You Have to Hate Trump to Love America

Among the most notable differences between Trump’s and Biden’s victories is the disparity in the margins of victory. In the fifteen states that held Super Tuesday primaries, Biden won all but two of his races with more than 80% of Democrats voting. And in three of those he won by more than 90%. That’s an average of 84.7% across all fifteen states.

Trump, on the other hand, was significantly less successful. While he did win most of his races (he lost to Nikki Haley in Vermont), he won all but three of those races with less than 80% of the vote. And in six of those he won by less than 70%, for an average of 71.5%.

So Biden’s margin of victory bested Trump’s by about 14 points across all of the Super Tuesday states. Trump lost more than a quarter of his party’s voters. That stands in stark contrast to the bragging that Trump does about how beloved he is by his cult followers. Not only did he underperform the pre-primary polling, he underperformed his own rather ridiculous predictions, wherein he claimed to have 96% – or even 100% – support from the Republican Party.

No one should wonder why Trump’s intra-party support is so low. While he has an iron grip on his MAGA cult disciples, he has fiercely excluded and insulted everyone else who fails to be sufficiently worshipful. For instance, Trump declared that anyone who supported Nikki Haley is barred from MAGA. Also, through his daughter-in-lawlessness, Lara Trump – who he is putting in charge of the Republican National Committee – he told those who supported other GOP candidates to leave the party.

SEE THIS: IT’S A CULT! Lara Trump Tells ‘Anyone Who is Not On Board with Donald Trump’ to Leave the GOP

Perhaps most bizarre, Trump recently told the ultra-rightist MAGA website, “Real America’s Voice,” that he has all the votes he needs right now, and doesn’t need any more. Judging by the results of Super Tuesday’s primaries, that is flat out delusional. It’s the sort of Trumpian lie that will surely come back to bite him in the arse. And Democrats should not be shy about reminding him – and all voters – that Trump believes he doesn’t need them.

IT’S A CULT! Lara Trump Tells ‘Anyone Who is Not On Board with Donald Trump’ to Leave the GOP

Just in case anyone was wondering who is in control of the Republican Party, the former reality TV game show host, and aspiring authoritarian dictator, Donald Trump, is making it abundantly clear that he is the divinely anointed master and all others must bend down and kiss his – let’s say ring.

Donald Trump, QAnon, Dictator

As evidence of Trump’s commandeering of the GOP (Groveling Obedient Peons), he has proposed to put his daughter-in-lawlessness, Lara Trump, at the helm of the Republican National Committee (RNC). From there she can allocate the funds it receives in donations from corporations, wealthy benefactors, and brainwashed simpletons, to paying for her Sugardaddy-in-law’s lawyers and traveling salvation shows. In fact, that’s precisely what she promised to do…

SEE THIS: Grifter Girl Lara Trump Says When She is RNC Chair ‘Every Single Penny Will Go to Donald Trump’

Never mind that the RNC is supposed to be a neutral enterprise that advances the prospects of all GOP candidates. In the Era of Trump there is only one mission. and that is to venerate Dear Leader Trump above everything and everyone else. Affirming that objective, Sister Lara appeared on the Trump-fluffing “news” website, “Real America’s Voice,” to declare that…

“I can assure you that there will be no funny business. Anyone who is not on board with seeing Donald Trump as the 47th president, and America-loving patriots all the way down the ticket being supported by the RNC, is welcome to leave. Because we are not playing games, and we have no time to waste. So we have to insure that every single penny of every dollar donated goes to the causes people care about.”

And make no mistake. In Trumpism the “causes that people care about” are all focused on exalting Trump. In other words, believe or be banished. No independent thought or fealty to heretics is permitted in the New Republican Ministry. That sort of disloyalty will be severely punished, and all apostates will be cast out. Rev. Trump said himself that any supporter of Nikki Haley will be permanently banned from the realm of MAGA.

Sister Lara went on to pitch herself for the leadership of the RNC, citing as her qualifications that “There is no one more loyal to Donald Trump.” It is in that spirit of compulsory devotion that Rev. Trump declared that the Republican Party has never been more united. He said that right after the first few GOP primaries where he lost 40% of his own party’s vote. And republicans in Congress are such a disjointed mess that they’ve gone through two Speakers and secured a modern record low for legislative productivity.

MORE HERE: REALLY? Dementia Addled Trump Babbles that ‘I Have Never Seen the Republican Party So Unified’

But never fear, MAGA-naughts. The 2024 election is the bag for Trump. It is such an assured inevitability that Trump told his cult followers that he doesn’t even need their votes. So Trump supporters can just skip the whole election and go to the monster truck show instead. That’s a message that everyone – including Democrats – can get behind. See? Trump is uniting the country.

Trump Celebrates Supreme Court Ballot Ruling with Crazy, Unrelated Babbling and Lies

The Supreme finally delivered their ruling on the Colorado state decision to remove Donald Trump from the ballot due to his breach of Section 3 of the Constitution’s 14th Amendment, which holds that “No person shall […] hold any office, civil or military, under the United States [who] shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof.”

Click here to Tweet this article

Donald Trump WTF

The Court’s decision placed the authority for ascertaining whether an insurrectionist can run for, or serve as, president within the jurisdiction of Congress, not the states. That can be debated by people of good faith. But what is indisputable is that Trump did incite an insurrection and continues to give aid and comfort to insurrectionists, including those currently serving prison sentences. The Court could have said otherwise, but did not. Which was wise considering the abundance of testimonial, documentary, and video evidence against Trump. He even admitted it himself…

SEE THIS: FINALLY: Trump Admits that January 6th Was an Insurrection, But Blames it on Nancy Pelosi

Following the announcement of the Court’s decision, Trump spoke to the press, presumably to hail what he perceived to be a momentous legal victory. However, given his notoriously short attention span and cognitive deficiencies, his speech quickly meandered off topic. Trump aimlessly diverted into a rendition of his routine cult rally rants, almost completely ignoring the Court’s ruling on ballot access. Reputable media outlets cut away from that thinly veiled campaign speech. In the future they should decline to cover him at all.

Among the topics that topped Trump’s temper tantrum instead were his dishonest representations of immigration, his false claim to have eliminated ISIS, his anxiety about having been ordered to pay a $354 million judgment for financial fraud, and a string of infantile insults aimed at prosecutors, including Fani Willis and Jack Smith. One area that he focused on intensely was his delusional belief that he is entitled to “total immunity” for any crime that he wants to commit. On that subject he said that…

“Presidents have to be given total immunity. They have to be allowed to do their job. If they are not allowed to do their job, it is not what the founders wanted. But perhaps even more importantly, it will be terrible for our country.”

Never mind that our country has survived for a couple of centuries without any of its 46 presidents having that fringe benefit. Nor, with the exception of Trump, needing it, because they weren’t committing crimes with the severity and frequency of Trump. Although he was grateful that he had the ability to make his case, preposterous as it is…

“I’m lucky that I’m able to explain it to the public because if you weren’t able to explain it, the public wouldn’t know. They’d believe what they see.”

Trump thinks that the public is too stupid to understand these matters – that have nothing to do with the ruling he was supposedly responding to – without his explaining it to them. According to him, absent his explanations, they would simply “believe what they see.” And we certainly can’t have that. Particularly when his explanations clear so much up. For instance…

WOW! Dotard Donald Trump Makes Some Great Legal Arguments to Go to Trial Before the Election

The past couple of weeks have seen the Supreme Court validate the worst case scenarios of their devolution into a subsidiary of the MAGA Republican cult. Their announcement that they would hear Donald Trump’s ludicrous claim of total immunity – giving him the right to commit any crimes he wants without consequences – is evidence of how beholden the conservative wing of the Court is to Dear Leader Trump.

Click here to Tweet this article

Donald Trump, Twitter

To make matters worse, the Supreme Court delayed any ruling on the question of immunity for nearly two months, making it more difficult to fit Trump’s upcoming trials into the calendars of the various lower courts. In essence, the Supreme Court is carrying out Trump’s strategy for delays that could shield him from prosecution, hoping that he wins in November when he can unilaterally dismiss all of the federal cases. It’s de facto immunity without ever having to make such a ruling.

SEE ALSO: Felonious Punk Trump Demands ‘TOTAL IMMUNITY’ – Even for Acts that ‘CROSS THE LINE’

On Sunday morning Trump posted a comment on his failing social media scam, Truth Social, that he intended to bolster his case for why all of the charges against him should be immediately dropped. But true to form, the intensely ignorant former reality TV game show host demonstrated that he has no grasp of the meaning of legal doctrine, or he’s just fiercely determined to lie about it. He wrote that…

“We’re in the middle of an Election. We have Super Tuesday coming up very shortly. According to Justice Department guidelines, they shouldn’t be prosecuting me: ‘Federal prosecutors and agents may never select the timing of any action, including investigative steps, criminal charges, or statements, for the purpose of affecting any election, or for the purpose of giving an advantage or disadvantage to any candidate or political party.’ THIS IS ELECTION INTERFERENCE, AND SHOULD BE STOPPED IN THE COURTS!”

Surprisingly, Trump correctly quoted section 9-85.000 of the Department of Justice’s Justice Manual (JM). However, unsurprisingly, he clearly has no idea what it means. In fact, the citation that Trump thinks prohibits further proceedings, actually justifies them. Let’s take a closer look.

First: The JM consists of guidelines and recommendations. They are not laws, and there is no legal requirement to comply with them.

Second: The JM recommends that Federal prosecutors avoid timing actions “for the purpose of affecting any election.” And since there is no evidence whatsoever that the Department has deliberately timed any of its actions to harm Trump’s campaign, this doesn’t apply to him. To the contrary, it is Trump who has endeavored to time the trial dates, resulting in their proximity to the election. Prosecutors have consistently requested earlier dates. What’s more, the dates are set by the presiding judges, who are not employed by the Justice Department.

Third There is no policy prohibiting an already-indicted candidate from being tried near – or even on – Election Day. The policy in the JM refers explicitly to new legal actions, not those that are continuations of previously taken ones.

Fourth: The Federal Speedy Trial Act requires that cases be tried expeditiously in service to the interests of the defendant, as well as the public.

In conclusion, Trump didn’t help himself with his remarks. Quite the opposite. There is nothing remotely resembling election interference in anything that the Justice Department or the prosecutors have done. It is Trump who is engaging in blatant election interference by trying to evade accountability for his crimes, and depriving the public of legal resolutions that they need to form voting decisions. It’s an argument that should compel the courts to proceed.

What’s peculiar is that Trump is the one who wants to put off the conclusions to these trials. An innocent defendant would ordinarily be anxious to have the cases resolved and the dark cloud removed from his campaign. Only a guilty person would want the verdict to be delayed.

And that should be how Democrats frame the remainder of this election year. There may still be time to get a verdict from the courts. But if not, then Democrats need to point out that the absence of a verdict is due to Trump’s obvious consciousness of guilt, resulting in his efforts to indefinitely delay the trials. In short, since Trump knows he’s guilty, why would any patriotic American vote for him?

Trump’s Parking Lot Lawyer on Newsmax: Biden is Bringing in Migrants to Vote for Him in November

The past few weeks have seen Donald Trump suffer some of the worst legal catastrophes in modern times. He was found liable for the defamation and sexual harassment of writer E. Jean Carroll, and ordered to pay $88 million. That was followed by a $354 million judgment for financial fraud

Donald Trump, Immigrant, Child

In the wake of those crippling losses, the attorney representing Trump, parking lot lawyer Alina Habba, is now making the rounds on MAGA media to talk about completely unrelated matters. In fact, they are purely political matters that are not remotely related to her legal duties. Which shouldn’t surprise anyone who has been watching her for the past several months. Many of her media appearances have focused on the same bizarre tirades that Trump babbles about at his cult rallies.

FOR INSTANCE: Trump’s Lawyer Issues Hysterical Challenge, Daring Hunter Biden to Put Trump on the Stand

On a recent visit to the friendly environs of Newsmax, Habba was asked whether President Biden could be held responsible for the tragic murder of a student in Georgia, allegedly by an immigrant from Venezuela. It is, of course, a ridiculous question that is intended only to blame Biden personally for any and all crimes committed anywhere in America. Never mind that crime has fallen significantly during the Biden administration, particularly “in cities that have received the most migrants.” Unfazed by facts, Newsmax and Habba set about to attack Biden with an especially ludicrous conspiracy theory…

Newsmax Host: Does Joe Biden have blood on his hands at this point?
Habba: 100%. Look, the whole thing with our borders, the whole thing with them bringing these people in so that they could vote in November because they need 10 million more votes to beat Trump. They need more than that. Frankly, this is all by design, and it’s not about keeping us safe. New Yorkers are not safe. America is not safe. And Joe Biden is more concerned with his polls, which he can’t win fair and square because the man can’t even walk. So he has to do this.

HOLY CRAP: So according to Habba, Biden is actually rounding up migrants – probably criminals – and “bringing these people in so that they could vote in November.” Habba doesn’t explain how he plans to get them registered to vote, show up at the polls, and tabulate their ballots, when there is no legal way that any of that can happen. Even legal immigrants must go through a process that takes years before they are eligible to vote.

If that pitiful ignorance of the law wasn’t bad enough, Habba was compelled to malign Biden’s mental and/or physical fitness by charging that he has to recruit these foreigners “because the man can’t even walk.” A real journalist might have followed up by asking Habba “What the f*** does that have to do with anything?” All she’s doing is opening up the conversation to include Trump’s more obvious cognitive decline. Then Habba goes on to make preposterous inferences to Fentanyl (which is mostly smuggled in at legal ports of entry by Americans), and more baseless allegations of electoral cheating.

Furthermore, if an aspiring election fraudster wanted to create phony voters, why would they need immigrants at all? There are millions of Americans who don’t vote and aren’t registered. Their names could be used to manufacture fake voters. Importing people who are likely to be caught and deported would be a much riskier operation And more complex and expensive as well. Plus, it would be taking illegal jobs from native born American criminals.

It is no secret where Habba is getting these idiotic lines of inquiry. They come directly from her boss, Donald Trump. He recently posted a comment on his failing social media scam, Truth Social, that asserted the same asinine argument. Trump whined that…

“It’s becoming more and more obvious to me why the ‘Crazed’ Democrats are allowing millions and millions of totally unvetted migrants into our once great Country. IT’S SO THEY CAN VOTE, VOTE, VOTE. They are signing them up at a rapid pace, without even knowing who the hell they are. It all makes sense now.”

MORE HERE: PHEW! Trump Says He Has Figured Out Why Biden is ‘Allowing’ Millions of Migrants Into America

Finally. It all makes sense. Thank goodness we have Trump and Habba to enlighten us all to these alternative facts. And to keep us appropriately frightened of them nefarious ferners.

OOPS: Fox News Host Spills that Trump Couldn’t Answer Questions About ‘Ensuring’ Fair Elections

In November of 2020, Joe Biden won a historic election wherein he defeated an incumbent who maligned Biden as a mentally impaired, radical leftist who was stealing the election. So Donald Trump was, in effect, conceding that, despite his being president, he couldn’t stop someone he regarded as a senile communist from committing unprecedented voter fraud.

Click here to Tweet this article

Donald Trump, Fox News

It’s been more than three years since Trump decisively lost his reelection bid to President Biden. But he is still obsessed with babbling about the alleged election fraud for which he has failed to produce a sliver of proof after more than 60 court cases, dozens of state audits, and innumerable promises of revealing what he claimed was “irrefutable” evidence.

SEE THIS: YEAH, RIGHT! Trump Promises an ‘Irrefutable,’ ‘Completely Exonerating’ Report on Election Fraud

In the intervening years, Trump has relied on his Ministry of Propaganda – aka Fox News – to buttress his baseless allegations and spread malicious lies intended to delegitimize Biden’s presidency. However, after being slapped with a $787 million judgment for defamation related to their election fraud deceit, the Fox News mission to furiously defend Trump at all times has gotten a bit wobbly in the knees.

That weakness has manifested in sometimes careless leaking of unfavorable information about Trump. And on Monday morning one of Fox’s most worshipful Trump-fluffers, Maria Bartiromo, inadvertently let just such a derogatory mention slip out. In an interview with Republican Rep. Claudia Tenney, Bartiromo inquired as to what Republicans were doing to prevent future election fraud…

“I asked Trump all about this. I kept saying to him, ‘What are you doing to ensure a fair and free election in November?’ He had no answers. I mean, what has the RNC done? What are the governors doing? So let me ask you…What specifically can you tell us that you and your colleagues have done to ensure a free and fair election in November?”

Rep. Tenney replied with a classic word salad response that offered nothing specific, other than having held meetings with “great governors like Gov. DeSantis” and “putting boots on the ground.”

However, Bartiromo’s question contained something a bit more newsworthy than Kenney’s politically rote reply. She revealed that all of her prior attempts to get Trump to explain what he would do to “ensure a fair and free election” were met with blank stares. That’s unusual for Trump, who is known for his ability to fill airtime with empty blathering, self-exaltations, and hostile insults, often completely ignoring the question that was asked.

Of course the reason that Trump had no answers for how he would ensure fair elections is two fold. First, he has no answers because he is an ignoramous who can’t think his way out of a paper bag. And Second, because there are no answers needed. The election wasn’t marred by election fraud to begin with. That’s something that even Fox News host Bret Baier pressed Trump on recently…

It’s notable that Trump argued with Baier by pushing already debunked lies and interjecting things that were unrelated to the question. Baier wasn’t accepting those evasions. He even returned to the question to ask if the diversions Trump spewed were how he was going to restore support from the female independent suburban voters he was losing.

Not to worry though. Sean Hannity, Jesse Watters, Laura Ingraham, and the “Curvy Couch” potatoes of Fox and Friends are all still solidly in Trump’s camp.

REALLY? Dementia Addled Trump Babbles that ‘I Have Never Seen the Republican Party So Unified’

The 2024 presidential election cycle has been dominated in the media by questions of the mental acuity of both candidates. It’s not a particularly fair contest considering that President Biden’s alleged signs of aging are generally harmless verbal glitches that were common in his youth, while Donald Trump’s are frightening expressions of vengeance, aspirations of tyranny, or just plain incoherence.

Click here to Tweet this article

Donald Trump, Republican, GOP

Trump’s remarks prior to and following the South Carolina Republican primary affirm the fragility of his psychological state. Among his mental malfunctions were his tribute to the violent January 6th insurrectionists; his fear mongering about “terrorist” migrants who speak “languages nobody has ever heard of;” and his comparison of his 91 felony charges, that were issued by citizen grand juries, to “Stalinist show trials.” He was so debilitated that even Fox News couldn’t pretend anymore.

SEE THIS: Fox News Host Neil Cavuto Interrupts Trump’s Lying to Note ‘He’s Not Entitled to His Own Facts’

Naturally, Trump’s notorious narcissism and massive ego were on full display. And never more so than when he attempted to glorify himself and his supposed blowout victory. Despite defeating his opponent, Nikki Haley, by about twenty points – after he predicted it would be thirty or forty – Trump had the audacity to proclaim that…

“There’s never been a spirit – ever – there’s never been a spirit like this. And I just want to say I have never seen the Republican party so unified as it is right now.”

WHUT? No rational person could describe losing 40% of your own party’s vote as a show unity. And that’s what happened, not just in South Carolina, but in New Hampshire and Iowa as well. By contrast, Biden won 96% of the vote in South Carolina’s Democratic primary. That’s unity.

What’s more, does Trump see GOP unity in Congress, where Republicans took 15 votes to elect Kevin McCarthy Speaker? Nine months later they booted him out. Then it took three weeks to replace him with Mike Johnson, who was their fourth choice, after Steve Scalise, Jim Jordan, and Tom Emmer failed. And they have been unable to pass critical legislation to fund the government, secure the border, or aid America’s allies in Israel and Ukraine. If anything, Trump has unified the GOP for its own destruction.

Once again, let’s see what Fox News had to say about Trump’s boasting of party unity. This time from Fox anchor John Roberts…

“The real key here is that 59% of Haley voters say that they would not vote for Donald Trump should he become the nominee. That tracks to about 24% of the Republican Party.”

Indeed, this is key. Because there is little hope for Trump to prevail in the general election if he can’t hold more than 60% of his GOP base. And these are not simply people who chose a different candidate in the primary. They are declaring that they won’t for Trump in the general election either.

Trump’s dementia has to be pretty bad for Fox News to notice it. But apparently, it has to be even worse for Trump to notice it. He told his cult followers at CPAC not to worry, because…

“There is no cognitive problem. If there was I’d know about it. In fact, if there was, you’ll be the first to know. Because I will tell you.”

Of course. And everyone knows that Trump would readily observe any cognitive decline that he might suffer, and he would immediately declare it to the world. Just like he’s declaring the unprecedented unity of the MAGA Republican Party that regularly throws their own under a caravan of buses, and can’t pass any significant bills if their lives depended on it. But never fear. Trump will keep us posted if his brain ceases to function. That should make his cult disciples feel better.

Fox News Host Neil Cavuto Interrupts Trump’s Lying to Note ‘He’s Not Entitled to His Own Facts’

Future psychiatrists and historians are going to have a field day exploring the paranoia, narcissism, and crybaby theatrics of Donald Trump. His deep-seated perceptions of victimhood form the foundation of his persistent hostility and emotionally disturbed detachment from reality. It’s a classic case of self-deception that is buttressed by his blindly devoted cult followers.

Donald Trump, Wah

The trials and tribulation of Trump are hard enough for him to handle when all he has to worry about are the “communists, fascists, thugs, and lunatics,” of the Democratic Party, the “fake news,” and the “Deep State” sponsored “witch hunts” conducted by President Biden’s “Department of Injustice.” But when his own Ministry of Propaganda, Fox News, is less than zealously committed to his deceits, be prepared for the ensuing fireworks.

FOR INSTANCE: Trump Goes on Psycho-Rant Accusing Fox News of Sabotaging Him with Bad Pictures and Polls

On Friday Fox News host Neil Cavuto briefly stepped off of the Trump train to deliver a bit of what we call journalism. In the midst of one of Trump’s cult rally speeches, Cavuto cut in for some fact-checking. That’s something that Fox News is not accustomed to doing. In fact, it is generally frowned upon at Fox. But on this occasion Cavuto went rogue. He broke away from the Trump Show to advise his viewers that…

“We’re continuing monitoring the president’s remarks, and I mean no offense to him, some of you might want to continue to hear him, but I did have to say that even though the former president is entitled to his opinions, he’s not entitled to his own set of facts. The market has indeed been going up and having nothing to do with him […] So that whether you want to give Biden credit for that, it has nothing to do with Donald Trump.

“Furthermore, he mentioned about gas prices out of whack at $6.00 a gallon. The national average right now is $3.26 a gallon.

“He went on to talk about the 2020 election and how that was ‘rigged.’ This has been adjudicated many, many times. Dozens of times. It’s been investigated by everyone and his uncle. No fewer than 44 investigations launched – some of them by judges that were picked by Donald Trump himself – that found no evidence of that in the seven battleground states where most of them were focused. Donald Trump lost each and every one of those states.”

Well said! But while Cavuto should be commended for setting the record straight on these matters, it barely scratches the surface of Trump’s pathological lying. And it’s important to remember that Fox devotes far more of its airtime – especially in primetime – defending Trump’s lies than correcting them. However, this is the second time this month that Fox has contradicted the Trumpian right-wing narrative. Trump’s former National Economic Council director, Larry Kudlow, diverted from Trump orthodoxy to praise recent economic data saying that…

“We had a blowout jobs report. More than twice the consensus expectations. Now, I know many of my conservative friends are trying to drill holes in this report. But you know what, folks? It is what it is. It’s a very strong report.”

While these exceptions to the Fox rule are welcome, Trump is still being coddled in other segments that go out of their way to stir fear and despair. For example, on Friday Fox host Lawrence Jones asked Trump what his “final message” was for the primary voters in South Carolina. Trump was decidedly dystopian saying that…

“We’re gonna make America great again. We have a real problem. Our country has never been this way. It’s never been so dangerous. They’re so sick. [rambling lies about immigration] He’s destroying our country. He’s a horrible president.”

So danger, sickness and destruction, are the key descriptors of Trump’s America. Which is nothing new for him. President Biden, on the other hand, was considerably more optimistic, encouraging, and patriotic, saying that…

“Inflation is now lower in America than any other major economy in the world. We have more to do, but we’re seeing real evidence that American consumers are feeling real confidence in their economy again.”

Those two statements convey the difference between the attitudes of these two men. Trump is an angry, vengeful prophet of doom. Biden is the voice of hope and the promise of America. The American people will choose between them in November. And it shouldn’t be a particularly difficult choice.

Rev. Trump Found the Winning Campaign Message for 2024: Saving Christian Programs on AM Radio

There is a perverse irony, and holy hypocrisy, in the embrace of Donald Trump by people who profess to be Christian. They could not have settled for a less representative spokesman for a community of faith that allegedly reveres universal love, forgiveness, and moral rectitude.

Click here to Tweet this article

Donald Trump Messiah

Trump is a serial adulterer who has cheated on all three of his wives. He is a pathological bearer of false witness (aka liar). He exudes greed, wrath, envy, lust, gluttony, pride, and sloth. In short, Trump is the antithesis of Christian piety. He has even explicitly referred to himself as a messianic incarnation of Christ.

SEE THIS: Trump Says ‘I Am the Chosen One’ After Tweeting that He’s ‘The Second Coming of God’

On Thursday Trump spoke at a convention of the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB), an association of Christian media professionals. And his address was replete with the sort of self-exaltation that he is well known for. However, he also waded into bizarre, dystopian tales of “Big Media” and “left-wing pressure groups” telling the televangelists what to say.

“They want you to say what they want you, what they want to have you say. And we’re not gonna let that happen. You’re going to say as you want and you’re going to believe, and you’re going to believe in God. You’re gonna believe in God because God is here and God is watching. God is watching. And God probably can’t believe what he’s seeing.”

First of all, anyone listening to this garbled mess would conclude that Trump is mentally unfit to serve tables at Appleby’s. But setting aside the cognitively fractured state of his rhetoric, Trump is fear mongering about censorship of Christian media that doesn’t exist. He then went on to offer himself as their savior, saying that…

“I will protect the content that is pro-God. We’re going to protect pro-God context and content. To that end, at the request of the NRB, I will do my part to protect AM radio in our cars. You know, we like to listen to AM radio. Because you know what we’re listening to.”

So Trump is apparently going to decide for everyone what “pro-God” content is. And he is planning to force private companies to distribute those Trump-approved sermons on media that is fading in popularity.

In Trump’s America auto manufactures won’t be allowed to decide what features to include in their cars. Maybe he will demand that they install 8-track players, or subsidize Christian channels on subscription radio services such as SiriusXM. He surely isn’t going to display the same fervor for Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, or any other brand of religiosity in media.

Trump’s speech to the NRB also included some ridiculous – in a frightening way – comments. Such as his bragging about overturning Roe vs Wade, and that “everybody on both sides” agrees with that Supreme Court decision. Does he, or his cult followers, actually believe that? He also lied that Democrats are in favor of abortion “even after birth.” And he promised to get rid of the Department of Education, because he “loves the poorly educated.”

For the most part this was Trump’s standard stump speech, complete with the tedious references to his multiple indictments, which he regards as akin to crucifixon. But this spiel was littered with more verbal glitches, incoherent wandering, and slurred words, as his mental cognition deteriorates.

To that downward spiraling, Trump added his new advocacy for an authoritarian imposition of Christian AM radio in every car. All of which sounds like a great campaign strategy. So long as he is running for Commander-in-Chief of Ward 7, with Nurse Ratched as his VP.

The Biden-Harris Campaign Posts MSNBC Video of Trump’s Tyrannical Tendencies on Truth Social

The new year has barely begun, but in its infancy there have already been some significant events that will likely shape the rest of the year as it progresses toward a profoundly significant election. Among them are the judgments against Donald Trump for defamation, rape, and financial fraud, that total nearly half a billion dollars that he likely doesn’t have.

Donald Trump, Joe Biden

As the 2024 presidential election cycle heats up, both Democrats and Republicans are beginning to sharpen their focus on their opponents. For Donald Trump that sharpening comes in the form of ever increasing crackpottery, including his noxious infatuation with his idol, Vladimir Putin, who he says he will “encourage” to attack our NATO allies unless they pay protection money.

For Democrats, their sharpening is aligned with the principles they embrace as a party that is committed to advancing the interests of all Americans. President Biden has already been focusing his campaign on substantive issues that the American people care about, such as jobs, abortion, climate and environment, healthcare, gun reforms, tax equity, diplomacy, and saving democracy. While Trump has been ranting feverishly about “witch hunts,” “election interference,” and scary brown immigrants.

On Thursday the Biden-Harris campaign team took a step outside of the safe harbor of friendly media to confront Trump’s MAGA Republicans where they live – on Trump’s failing social media scam, Truth Social They posted a video clip of a discussion on MSNBC’s “Deadline: White House” that featured former Republican congressman, David Jolly. In the clip Jolly noted that Trump has never criticized Putin, and fails to recognize that he is a dictator. Elaborating, he said (Note: this tweet is the same as the post on Truth Social)

“Let’s talk about why Donald Trump won’t say anything. Clearly he’s under the influence of Vladimir Putin, or he has sympathies for Vladimir Putin’s agenda, and he refuses to stand up for the national security interests of the United States […] This is more than Trump now. This appears to be the Republican orthodoxy that’s providing equity to Russia and to Putin, and it’s very dangerous [and that] Vladimir Putin and Russia are a threat to Western security interests. But so is Donald Trump.”

The truth of Jolly’s commentary is obvious to clear-eyed observers who have followed Trump and his adoration of Putin. But Trump’s cult disciples on Truth Social are generally shielded from this sort of honest appraisal. They may still be unaware of its existence unless they deliberately seek it out. But the act of placing it in their domain is a fun exercise in trolling. And it could result in some of them getting exposed accidently.

The Biden-Harris campaign is making a point simply by posting the video. They aren’t afraid to engage with MAGA on their own turf. Trump however, will never venture outside of his hermetically sealed MAGA bunker, surrounded by sycophants and bootlickers. Even though the results of that cowardice may ultimately do him more harm than good.

The criticism in Jolly’s commentary has been expressed by others, including by some of Trump’s former insiders. But it needs to be disseminated more widely throughout the campaign season. Trump’s worshipful embrace of Putin, and his envy of Putin’s domineering authoritarianism, is a threat to American democracy. And it cannot be permitted to take hold.

Consequently, the Biden-Harris campaign should continue to deliver that message everywhere. Not because it is likely to convince Trump cultists to change their views. But because it needs to fill the information vacuum and set the narrative for the coming election. And also because it’s just darn funny to rub their noses in some truth every now and then.
