What Outrages Fox News Now? The ‘Dark Brandon’ Persona of Biden Who ‘Spews Curses at Staff’

You have to feel a little sorry for Fox News when the economy is hitting on all cylinders, job growth is at historic levels, foreign relations have returned to hospitable normalcy, and the White House is occupied by someone who is respected and uncommonly productive.

In desperate times like these for a dedicated, right-wing propaganda peddler like Fox News, it becomes nearly impossible to fabricate the fury and animosity that fuels conservative conniption fits. Consequently they resort to clinging pitifully to trivial contrivances in order to satisfy their scandal-starved audience.

On Monday morning Fox News demonstrated their desperation in a story that they surely thought would blow the lid off of the well disguised Biden facade of calm and civility. Cribbing their story from an Axios article, Fox News highlighted selective reporting that characterized President Biden as a foul-mouthed monster who terrorized his staff. For instance…

“Biden reportedly fumes and spews curses at staff in private [and that he] frequently lashes out at staff members with profanity-laden rants if they do not meet his expectations […] One official in the administration told the outlet that ‘no one is safe’ from Biden’s wrath.”

That’s right. Old Uncle Joe is apparently a heathen who berates his underlings when they fail to measure up to his impossibly high standards. That’s when he isn’t being described as interminably boring by Fox News (also here) because he doesn’t act out like a profane and hyper-psycho drama queen the way Trump does. Which, for some reason, has never bothered anyone at Fox News.

And never mind that those same allegedly browbeaten White House subordinates regard Biden’s pressure as encouragement and “framed his outbursts as a desire for accuracy and competence” saying that they “like the fact that he challenges them and gets them to a better decision.'” Part of the Axios article that Fox News failed to mention said that…

“Some Biden aides think the president would be better off occasionally displaying his temper in public as a way to assuage voter concerns that the 80-year-old president is disengaged and too old for the office.”

The problem with that is that when Biden does make any display of passion, Fox News and other MAGA media portray him as angry and rude. Recall the incident when Fox’s Peter Doocy asked Biden a blatantly biased question and Biden muttered a relatively mild insult under his breath, for which he later called Doocy and personally apologized.

When Fox News features strained banalities like this branding of Biden as a brutish boss, they are inadvertently exposing themselves as devoid of any substantive criticisms of the President. It’s why they lean on preposterous reporting of horrifying atrocities like the fact that Biden rides bicycles, or that he commands armies of IRS mercenaries, or that there are gay legos, or anything related to Hunter Biden. Fox News simply doesn’t have anything real to nail on Biden. Luckily for them, their viewers don’t give fig about reality.

Fox News Senior Trump-Fluffer, Maria Bartiromo, Grills DeSantis on a Flurry of Fake Scandals

The Republican presidential primary is fulfilling its promise to be this season’s most stupendous circus of silliness and psychopathy. It features a cast of Lilliputian candidates who are fighting to see who can be the most solicitous toward the GOP’s Dear Leader, Donald Trump.

The only contender so far to have slithered out of single digits, other than Trump, is Florida’s aspiring authoritarian, Ron DeSantis, who is managing to lose to both Trump and Mickey Mouse. The DeSantis strategy appears to be focused on capturing the segment of the Republican electorate that thinks that Trump isn’t fascist enough and has too much charisma.

The DeSantis obsession with what he calls the “woke mind virus” has compelled him to reference that wholly manufactured disease in at least every other sentence. And on Sunday morning he took that anti-woke road show to Fox News, where he spends more time than he does in Tallahassee.

However, on this occasion, DeSantis came face to face with Fox’s most Trump-loving host, Maria Bartiromo. And she greeted him with something that was more of a confrontation than an interview. Each utterance of her repeated inquiries as to what DeSantis would do was like a challenge that assumed he wouldn’t do anything significant (video below).

“I think one of the reasons that Donald Trump is in the lead is because of the corruption and the unfairness of our justice system. I want to know what you’re going to do. What are you going to do about the fact that the FBI worked with Twitter to censor information, amplify lies and suppress truth? What are you going to do about this influence peddling that we see is in plain sight that the Biden family has been doing allegedly, for now, more than a decade? What can you do to straighten things out now that Americans are sick and tired of the corruption they see in plain sight?”

To support her undisguised bias in favor of Trump, Bartiromo’s question enumerated a series of fictional scandals. The first of which was her belief that the American justice system is corrupt and unfair simply because it has recently endeavored to hold Trump accountable for his multitude of crimes. That’s straight out of Trump’s hyperbolic and hostile “Playbook of Pathetic and Vicious Victimhood.”

Bartiromo continued with her inquisition asserting such fallacies as “the FBI worked with Twitter to censor information.” That was proved to be a flagrant lie promoted by Elon Musk and Fox News. Then she alleged that there was “influence peddling” by the Biden family “that we see is in plain sight.” Which was just another evidence-free conspiracy theory advanced by Republicans in Congress. And finally, Bartiromo whined that the American people are “sick and tired of the corruption” that she attributes to the Biden administration. The nation is indeed sick and tired of corruption, but most Americans believe that it is Trump who is responsible for it.

For his part, DeSantis responded to Bartiromo by dodging every one of her questions. He never said what he would actually do about any the phony issues she raised. He merely agreed with her allegations and muttered vaguely that he would fix whatever the heck she thought was wrong.

“”We will end the weaponization of government, […] And I look back at like the Hunter Biden censorship, which was a huge, huge deal to happen in the 2020 election. And yet, you know, those were Donald Trump’s own agencies that were colluding with big tech.”

What wasn’t said was that everything that DeSantis and Bartiromo are complaining about took place during the Trump administration by people that he appointed. So in effect, they are alleging that Trump colluded against himself. It’s a bold and bizarre strategy. But it’s the only one they have. And while it might work on Trump’s cult disciples, it will further alienate the rest of the electorate. So expect more of the same as the primary proceeds. And enjoy the battle between DeSantis and Trump as they try to out-crazy each other.

Trump Says ‘Deranged’ Special Counsel Staged Photo of Trump with Suspected Obama Stalker

It’s a day that ends with “Y” so, therefore, it’s a day in which Donald Trump posts a loony message to his cult followers on his floundering Twitter ripoff, Truth Social. And as his legal peril increases, the looniness and seething desperation of his posts grow exponentially.

On Saturday morning Trump ventured into the true crime story of one of his cult disciples, Taylor Taranto, who was arrested this week with a cache of weapons near the home of former President Barack Obama. Taranto was also wanted for his participation in the January 6th insurrection in Washington, D.C., and authorities alleged that he “had threatened to blow up [his van] at a government facility.” In other words, he was a typically deplorable Trump devotee.

In his Pravda Social post, Trump lashed out at special counsel Jack Smith in his tediously repetitive fashion, referring to Smith as “deranged,” a condition that Trump should be familiar with. He was triggered by a photo of Taranto with his arm around a cardboard cutout of Trump.

Apparently Trump wasn’t pleased with the media reporting factually that Taranto was a longtime Trump supporter who was prone to violence. It wasn’t that Trump was bothered by the association. He was bothered that it was made public. Consequently, he raged that…

“This picture is a ‘cardboard cutout’ of me put out by the Fake News Media and probably supplied to them by Deranged Jack Smith and the Department of Injustice for purposes of Election Interference. Weaponization of ‘Justice’ is the new way that the Radical Left Democrat Lunatics will CHEAT in the 2024 Presidential Election. WE WILL STOP THEM!!!”

Notice that nothing in Trump’s comment is critical of what Taranto did to get arrested. Nor does he condemn the violence. He’s cool with all of that. However, he brazenly lies about the source of the photo as being “supplied to [the media] by Deranged Jack Smith and the Department of Injustice for purposes of Election Interference.” In reality, the photo comes from a Washington state Republican dinner in 2018, while he was still occupying the White House, and long before the special counsel probe.

Trump’s aversion to the truth is well established. And his obsessive hostility toward his perceived enemies is beyond psychotic. So naturally, he views Smith with contempt. Earlier the same day Trump posted that…

“Deranged Jack Smith, the wacko prosecutor that Corrupt Joe Biden and his Thugs stuck on me during the political campaign in which Biden is losing ‘BIG’ (an absolute No, No!), just announced that he has spent over 9 million dollars, already, on this continuing Witch Hunt. Biden’s Special Prosecutor, by comparison, has spent almost nothing. Prosecutorial Misconduct for purposes of Election Interference!”

It seems that Trump forgot that his infantile nickname prefix for Biden is “Crooked,” not “Corrupt.” But at least he is consistently maligning Smith as “Deranged,” despite how remarkably intelligent and focused he appears by all accounts.

Trump also claims that “Biden and his Thugs” “stuck” Smith on him. Although Biden had nothing to do with it. And Trump’s complaint that the “Witch Hunt” cost $9 million is evidence of Smith’s effectiveness. He’s already produced more than 60 felony counts in his indictments. John Durham, the special counsel appointed by Trump’s Attorney General, Bill Barr, spent about the same amount. But in nearly four years he only charged three people, one of whom pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor, and the other two were found not guilty at trial.

Finally, while Trump would like to believe that he can’t be prosecuted with an election coming up, that policy refers to elections that are within 60 days, not a year and a half. So if Smith continues to proceed expeditiously, and Trump fails to obstruct with delays, his trial can go forward.

In the meantime, expect Trump to continue to dispense lies, hatred, and incitations to further violence. Hopefully he will have the same measure of failure with that that he does with everything else that he attempts.

Fox News and GOP Hack Launch Feeble Attack on Biden’s Family Values that Backfires Abominably

The desperation of Fox News – and the Republican Party for which it shills – is sinking to ever lower efforts to denigrate Democrats, and especially President Joe Biden. But their increasingly pathetic stunts are belly-flopping and serve only to further humiliate themselves.

It’s somewhat understandable that they are failing so miserably at their core mission to malign their political foes. Biden has conducted his presidency with dignity and respect for the office and the law. Consequently, Republicans and Fox News have nothing of substance with which to smear him. So naturally, they resort to their standard methods of baseless insinuations, crackpot fabrications, and outright lies. All of which is in stark contrast to Donald Trump’s practice of shameless immorality and commission of serial felonies.

This week on Fox News, anchor Rachel Campos-Duffy sat in for Tucker Carlson’s replacement, Jesse Watters, and proceeded to validate her role as a qualified Carlson/Watters stooge. In a segment focused on fake allegations of improprieties by Biden, Campos-Duffy hyperbolically declared that the President was responsible for “the biggest political scandal in modern history, as far as I’m concerned.” What was she talking about? Who knows. It hardly matters as there were no facts – or anything resembling reality – associated with it.

Campos-Duffy’s guest was the Republican chair of the House Oversight Committee, James Comer. He has been on a crusade to disparage Democrats and Biden ever since assuming his chairmanship. Suffice to say that it hasn’t been going well for him. His alleged “proof” of criminal activity has failed to materialize. And star witnesses have literally disappeared.

The discussion between Campos-Duffy and Comer devolved into a lame attack on Biden’s family values. Unfortunately for them, what they presented as evidence of his unfitness as a role model were actually character assets that most Americans admire. After declaring that “the president is the last person who should be preaching to Americans about family values,” Comer put forth his key argument, saying that…

“To listen to Joe Biden talk about family values — or to listen to Joe Biden talk about criminal justice reform… where he wants to hire more IRS employees to go after tax cheats or have more gun laws to go after people that possess firearms. And his own son pled guilty to two tax evasion charges and one [count of] illegal possession of firearms. This is a terrible example of leadership in the White House.”

With regard to Comer’s comments about the IRS, he was referring to the Democrats’ budget that allocated $80 billion dollars to the agency. Republicans have falsely spun that into a fearsome lie that it would fund 87,000 armed IRS agents who would terrorize hapless and innocent Americans. The truth is that it would fund some agents who could be tasked with insuring that the wealthy don’t get away with tax evasion, which most Americans support. But mostly it would provide for other agency personal engaged in everything from administration to customer service.

With regard to Comer’s comments about criminal justice, he was referring to Biden’s efforts to reduce gun violence and the horrific plague of mass shootings with assault-style weapons. Which is another agenda item that most American’s are in favor of.

What makes Comer’s remarks particularly ludicrous is that they are actually arguments that support Biden’s commitment to family values. He is implying that there is something untoward about Biden providing funding for the IRS while his son Hunter recently pleaded guilty to not paying his taxes on time. But that actually shows that Biden is supportive of holding people accountable for paying their taxes, including his own son.

Likewise, Comer’s implication of nefarious intent regarding strengthening gun regulations, even though Hunter was found to have violated them, proves that Biden is committed to equal justice under the law, even if it means holding his son to account.

In other words, everything that President Biden did and said was an honorable expression of both social and family values. Yet somehow, Comer didn’t realize that even as he was saying it. Perhaps that’s because Comer himself is such an inappropriate role model. After all, he still has never explained the allegations by his former girlfriend who says that he abused her and forced her to get an abortion. But never mind those credible allegations when Republicans like Comer are so fixated on demonizing Biden…

The Final Battle? Trump’s Dystopian Campaign Ad Promises to ‘Liberate America From Villains’

Throughout his political career, Donald Trump has evoked a nightmarish vision of America and the world. In Trump’s diseased mind there are demons in every shadow and monsters under every bed. And all of them are hell-bent on destroying him due to his saintly virtue.

Trump relentlessly portrays himself as a comic book hero warrior battling on behalf the enfeebled peasants who cannot survive without him. But he comes off as a pathetic loser steeped in victimhood who only cares about himself. His seething weakness and fear is glaring to anyone not blinded by the worshipful idolatry he demands of his devotees.

This week Trump released his deranged version of a campaign ad on his floundering Twitter ripoff, Truth Social. It reaffirmed his grotesque impression of the nation that he aspires to lead – no, make that rule over. The video is a horror show of ghastly imagery and looming threats. As he walks down a dark hallway with his customary pained grimace, Trump says in voiceover that…

“This is the final battle. With you at my side we will abolish the Deep State. We expel the war mongers from our government. We will drive out the globalists. We will cast out the communists. Marxists, and fascists. We will throw off the sick political class that hates our country. We will rout the fake news media. And we will liberate America from these villains once and for all.”

Trump’s message most closely resembles that of an aspiring messiah. Notice that his single focus is that he will remove all manner of imagined atrocities that plague the nation and its tortured citizens. It is all about who he will “abolish, expel, drive/cast out, throw off,” and “rout.” Of course, everyone that he is declaring will be banished are merely Americans who dare to disagree with him, and the legal authorities seeking to hold him accountable for his multitude of crimes.

When he’s done, Trump’s concept of the nation would have about 10% of the population, consisting only of his embittered cult disciples. It’s a recasting of the divine doctrine that he is the only savior for the sorry sacks who salivate over him. He frequently tells his followers that they are the targets of the evildoers, but that he is taking the blows on their behalf. In other words, he’s dying for their sins.

Death and morbidity (and salvation) are common themes in Trump World. This campaign ad is reminiscent of his prior messaging wherein he whines that “Our nation is now third world and dying,” and that “the American dream is dead!” That’s when he isn’t fear mongering about America being plagued by “blood-soaked streets” in “cesspool cities.” And don’t forget his inaugural address in 2017 that gleefully warned of “American Carnage.”

The “optimism” in Trump’s campaign ad is sure to expand the voter base – of Democrats. He is simply incapable of expressing himself in any terms that are remotely positive or uplifting. The entire strategy of Trump’s Republican Party and MAGA movement is to manufacture as much dread of the future – and hatred of the “others” – as possible. It may be the one thing that he’s any good at. But unfortunately for him, it won’t help him to achieve his goal of Putinesque tyranny.

Fox News Accuses Biden of Giving False Hope After the Supreme Court Killed Student Debt Relief

This week the conservative majority on the Supreme Court earned its Ultra-MAGA wings as they delivered rulings that were flagrantly slanted in favor of the regressive Republican agenda. Despite the GOP’s perennial position in opposition to judicial activism, that is precisely what the Court exercised in ruling against President Biden’s student debt relief program.

The blatantly biased right-wingers on the court decided 6-3 that Biden didn’t have the authority to execute what was already law as stated in the HEROES (Higher Education Relief Opportunities for Students) Act that Congress had passed in 2003. The Act authorizes the President to direct the Secretary of Education to “waive or modify” up to $20,000 in student loans during national emergencies, such as the COVID-19 pandemic. That relief would have impacted more than 40 million Americans.

It has been noted by Democrats and numerous legal analysts that the President’s implementation was entirely appropriate. Their hypocritical critics struggled to argue against it despite many of them having had their own loans under the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) forgiven for sums that went into the millions of dollars.

Blithely ignoring their hypocrisy and deceit, Fox News entered the debated with a loaded question asked by their White House correspondent, Jacqui Heinrich, at Biden’s press conference….

Heinrich: “Mr. President, why did you give millions of borrowers false hope? You doubted your own authority here in the past.”
Biden: “I didn’t give any false hope. The question ws whether I was giving them more than what was requested. What I did I thought was appropriate and was able to be done and would get done. I didn’t give borrowers false hope. But the Republicans snatched away the hope that they were given – and it’s real, real hope.”

Reporter: “Mr. President, why did you give millions of borrowers false hope? You doubted your own authority here in the past.”

It isn’t surprising that Fox News would try to twist their questions into disparaging accusations. They have a backroom operation that is dedicated to that task. What’s surprising is that they do it so badly. In this case Biden was able to easily bat that inquiry into the bleachers. Which likely means that Heinrich will never get her appearance at the event aired on her network. Fox News viewers will also likely never hear about Biden’s proposals on behalf of student borrowers in the wake of the decision.

And as if that weren’t bad enough, Fox News also posted a graphic on Twitter that featured part of Justice Roberts’ opinion in the student loan matter. It read, “It has become a disturbing feature of some recent opinions to criticize the decisions with which they disagree as going beyond the proper role of the judiciary.”

WHUT?

It is telling that Roberts thought it was necessary to preemptively complain about any criticism of the decision even as he was writing the opinion for it. He must have known how awful it was.

However, what is really “disturbing” is that Roberts thinks it’s appropriate to stifle the free speech of anyone who disagrees with him. Especially when they are right about his having gone “beyond the proper role of the judiciary.” Not to mention that he is presiding over a court wherein he and his conservative colleagues have been engaging in brazenly unethical practices to enrich themselves.

GOP Reactions to the Supreme Court’s Affirmative Action Ruling Affirms Bias for the Privileged

Just days after the Supreme Court unexpectedly ruled against the Independent State Legislature theory that would have allowed politicians to take control of the electoral process and usurp the will of voters, they have reverted to form by banning Affirmative Action in college admissions.

Like their decision last year to overturn Roe v. Wade, this decision rolls back precedents that have been in place for half a century. The conservative majority on the court concluded that considerations of race were a violation of the 14th Amendment to the Constitution and that any need to balance systemic racism in American society today was no longer necessary.

How they came to that conclusion is a mystery considering the prevalence of prejudice that is apparent to everyone except these right-wing Justices. Particularly Clarence Thomas who is a beneficiary of Affirmative Action, as well as Affluent Action via gifts/bribes from his wealthy friends.

It’s easy to assess the impact of this decision by simply observing the reactions from Republicans, who have been celebrating it enthusiastically. Let’s begin with Donald Trump, who is largely responsible since he appointed three of the Justices who decided it…

“This is a great day for America, People with extraordinary ability…are finally being rewarded. [and that] We’re going back to all merit-based.”

He’s right about one thing. We are “going back” to an era when discrimination was engaged in openly and without consequence. Although it’s funny to hear Trump exalt the Supreme Court that he recently complained had “lost its honor” when they ruled that his tax returns could be turned over to Congress…

“Why would anybody be surprised that the Supreme Court has ruled against me, they always do! […] The Supreme Court has lost its honor, prestige, and standing, & has become nothing more than a political body, with our Country paying the price. They refused to even look at the Election Hoax of 2020. Shame on them!”

Clearly Trump can’t recall from one day to the next what he’s outraged or elated about. And then there’s GOP House Squeaker Kevin McCarthy who said that…

“The Supreme Court just ruled that no American should be denied educational opportunities because of race. Now students will be able to compete based on equal standards and individual merit.”

Never mind that the academic standards have always been equal. Affirmation Action only applied after the student’s merits were already established. And then there’s Rep. Lauren Boebert…

“Affirmative Action is unconstitutional and has always been unconstitutional. This country should only be based on merit, not racism.”

This utopian view is often presented by conservative racists who like to pretend that there is no racism. And then there’s Rep. Ronny Jackson…

“THANK YOU to President Trump for nominating justices who ENDED affirmative action & institutional racism in college admissions. College admissions should be based on MERIT ALONE.”

He believes that the policies implemented to mitigate racism are racist themselves. And then there’s Rep. Matt Gaetz…

“Artificial diversity and race-based college admission regimes have been usurped; meritocracy is once again king.”

That’s more of the same phony whining about diversity, which they regard as anathema to their white supremacist agenda.

What all of these unabashed bigots have in common, besides their prejudice, is hypocrisy. While they yammer incessantly about merit-based admissions, they never complain about students who get admitted because they are legacies or have family that makes large donations to the school of their choice. The wealth or academic past of a student’s parents has absolutely nothing to do with with that student’s merits.

If merit were truly an issue, these Republicans should be clamoring for an end to such admissions. But they aren’t, and they won’t. Because their real motivation is pure, unadulterated racism. Which is further evident in their opposition to President Biden’s remarks about the Court’s ruling, wherein he set the record straight about Affirmative Action. He noted that it does not require colleges to admit students who are not qualified, but that qualification standards must be met before the consideration of other factors such as race.

No matter how they try to disguise it, the racism of the Republican Party is exposed by their own words and actions. And that will continue for the foreseeable future. However, the racism demonstrated by the Supreme Court does not have to be tolerated. By voting for Democrats in Congress and the White House we can reform the Court’s policies and personnel. And decisions like the one today make that all the more imperative.

Tucker Carlson Disgorges a Wildly Incoherent and Hostile Anti-Biden and Anti-Democracy Diatribe

Ever since Tucker Carlson was banished from his perch at Fox News, he has been posting irregular tirades on Twitter to satisfy his egomaniacal thirst for attention and influence over his glassy-eyed disciples of wanton wingnuttery.

Carlson’s Twantrums have been mostly venting the same hatred and division that he unloaded nightly at Fox News. It’s just that now he’s doing it for a smaller and even more deranged audience. Although he continues to fail in his attempts to form logical analyses or plausible arguments.

Carlson began his latest rambling harangue (video here if you can stomach it) by questioning the reasons for the U.S. support of Ukraine. He mocked any suggestion that it might be because it’s an unprovoked, imperialistic aggression by Russia and its war criminal leader, and Carlson hero, Vladimir Putin – who Carlson as been literally rooting for from beginning of the conflict. Carlson callously dismissed the notion that the U.S. and much of the Western world are defending democracy and the territorial sovereignty of a peaceful ally.

Carlson goes on to play clips of Democrats and Republicans declaring their support for Ukraine. His point was that this bipartisan unity on behalf of democracy is something despicable. In the process, Carlson insulted Nancy Pelosi as “the daughter of the mobbed up mayor of Baltimore.” He made the obtuse argument that fighting to defend the democracy of an ally is pointless and without merit, saying that…

“Without Ukrainian democracy, in other words, we can have no democracy here. If the Ukrainians aren’t free, neither are we. We must make sure they can vote in Kiev so we can continue to vote in Kansas City.”

Carlson has no comprehension of the global commitment to freedom and the solidarity among free nations against tyrannical empires. His position would negate the usefulness on the United Nations, NATO, or any other agreement between aligned countries. He then attempts to malign Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as anti-democratic because Ukraine is postponing an election while it is being assaulted by Russian armies and bombarded by Russian missiles. Carlson portrays that decision as Zelenskyy imposing his personal will in order to oppress his people.

And this is where Carlson predictably turns to smearing President Biden. In an inexplicable segue, Carlson refers to a recent right-wing talking point about Hunter Biden saying that…

“Last week a whistleblower produced WhatsApp messages from Hunter Biden proving that at the very least his father knew about his influence peddling businesses abroad and probably participated in them.”

Despite the fact that there is no confirmation that any of that is true, Carlson calls it a “smoking gun.” He states as fact that Hunter’s message proves that “Joe Biden was in the room with his son when his son was selling influence to an enemy power, the Chinese government.” Of course, it proves nothing of the sort. It’s just an unconfirmed report of alleged comments, made by a drug-addict who was desperate for funds, that has been spread by Republican shills like Carlson. Their promises to provide corroborating evidence have gone unfulfilled.

What this has to do with the war in Ukraine is anyone’s guess. But Carlson’s non sequiturs are just beginning. He follows this up with an attack on Biden’s age and on Vice-President Kamala Harris. He derides Biden’s mental acuity saying that…

“People imagine that old age is a long predictable progression from Acuity to permanent unconsciousness but often that’s not at all how it actually works. When old people start to slide they tend to slide fast. Joe Biden has begun that descent.”

To support that phony medical analysis, Carlson plays a video clip of Biden telling a story in which he included a quote. Biden ended that portion of the story by noting the end of the quoted portion. But to Carlson, Biden was exhibiting dementia by simply saying “End of quote.” Carlson suggested that Biden was improperly reading the stage directions off of the TelePrompTer. Of course, it’s common when speaking to verbally say “quote” and “unquote” when reciting comments by others. But to Carlson it means that Biden “in a year or two he will be gone completely.” And to Carlson, this would be disastrous because…

“If Joe Biden is re-elected next year and then forced to leave office during his term due to disability or death that means Kamala Harris will become president of the United States and nobody wants that, not even her husband. In real life nobody likes Kamala Harris.”

Carlson seems to think he knows what every American wants. Never mind that the American people voted for the Biden/Harris ticket and they favor it currently over an anticipated contest against the 77 year-old Donald Trump and whatever bootlicker he selects as his running mate. But Carlson knows better than the voters. He then puts on his prognosticators caps and predicts that Biden won’t be a candidate in 2024 at all. Contradicting his charge that Biden is sinking into senility, he claims that he will be replaced by a strategic mastermind – someone who is as…

“…ruthless and transactional as Joe Biden is. And he’ll need to have flattery skills that are so polished and advanced they’d be considered superior even in the Saudi Royal Court. And there’s only one man in modern America who fits that description. Gavin Newsom the governor of California.”

Carlson criticized Newsom for having the audacity to support and praise Biden, the leader of his party and the nation. But in closing Carlson described Newsom in Satanic terms as having a “forked tongue.” Then bizarrely added that “If you’re looking for the leader of the coup, there he is right there.” So in Carlson’s twisted mind, Newsom is both adoring of Biden and plotting to overthrow him. Makes perfect sense, doesn’t it?

With the latest episode of his Twitter show, Carlson reestablishes himself as the right’s biggest pseudo-intellectual poser. His arguments are tedious and devoid of all meaning. His demeanor is repulsive and arrogant. And in order to humiliate himself like this, he is risking losing millions of dollars still owed to him by Fox News. The network is threatening to sue him for breach of contract by violating his non-compete clause. They could save themselves the trouble and just watch him burn himself out.

Fox News Hack Viciously Attacks Biden and Garland After Release of Incriminating Trump Tapes

We are living in what an old Chinese curse described as “interesting times.” These are times wherein Donald Trump seems to confess to, or implicate himself, in a new crime every day. His pitiful public pleadings are often inadvertent admissions of guilt, even as he is attempting to assert his virginal innocence.

On Monday CNN released audio recordings of Trump from July 2021 (listen to them here), wherein he is heard divulging the contents of classified documents to people who did not have the required security clearances to hear them. The whole conversation has the demeanor of jovial barroom banter. It was definitely not a meeting about national security. Trump is heard bragging about the classified documents that he has previously said didn’t exist, or were declassified with his mind, or were planted by the FBI.

According to CNN…

“Trump’s statements on the audio recording, saying ‘these are the papers’ and referring to something he calls ‘highly confidential’ and seems to be showing others in the room, could undercut the former president’s claims in an interview last week with Fox News’ Bret Baier that he did not have any documents with him.”

Among the incriminating remarks on the tape are Trump saying that “They presented me this – this is off the record but – they presented me this,” and “See as president I could have declassified it. Now I can’t, you know, but this is still a secret.” So the tapes confirm that Trump had the classified documents, and that he knew that they were still classified. That’s proof of a violation of the Espionage Act. And refusing to return these documents, even after being subpoenaed, is obstruction of justice. And it isn’t the first time that Trump’s own words convicted him.

Naturally, Trump’s tendency to incriminate himself is quickly intercepted by his sycophants at Fox News. This time it was Mark Levin who tweeted an extended harangue that was filled with untruths and slander. What follows are a few choice excerpts…

“[T]he corrupt Biden DOJ, sleazy Jack Smith’s office, and the usual corrupt media lapdogs [have] committed scores of felonies, interfered in a presidential election, and have pushed the nation to the brink of some kind of civil war, while smearing and denouncing Trump.”

“The thoroughly corrupt Biden family and Biden regime use the power of federal law enforcement against their political opponents (“MAGA extremists,” pro-lifers, parents — all ‘white supremicists,’ whatever that means).”

“AG Garland, corrupt to the core like most mob lawyers [is} a dangerous man with Stalinist characteristics.”

“Garland has stonewalled appointing a special counsel to investigate his boss, Joe Biden, because he wants to smother with a political pillow Biden’s multiple criminal activities, that even involve our national security.”

“Jack Smith, known for Gestopo-like [sic] tactics…”

“Garland, Biden, his operatives, the hopelessly corrupt media, and the Democrat Party are destroying our country right before our eyes.”

“This latest prosecutorial leak of an audio clip to CNN, is further intended to poison a jury pool and deny the former president due process.”

“To be clear, we know nothing about the context of the audio. Nothing. We are fed exactly two minutes via CNN, a favorite state-run media outlet. We know no more or no less than they tell us. And the multiple felonies committed by the regime in leaking the tape will be ignored.”

Nearly all of the above are putrid and puerile insults that Levin disgorges without even trying to provide any supporting arguments. Although it’s telling that he doesn’t what “white supremacist” means. The one assertion of an alleged fact – that “Garland has stonewalled appointing a special counsel to investigate his boss” – is just patently false. Garland did appoint a special counsel to probe Biden’s classified documents six months ago. And unlike Trump, he voluntarily returned them and invited authorities to search further.

What’s more, Levin asserts, without evidence, that the tapes were the result of a “prosecutorial leak.” However, it is much more likely that the tapes came from Trump or one his associates on the recordings. After all, Trump himself believes that the tapes are “actually an exoneration” of him. So from his warped perspective it would make sense to release them to the media. He raged on his floundering Twitter ripoff, Truth Social, that…

“The Deranged Special Prosecutor, Jack Smith, working in conjunction with the DOJ & FBI, illegally leaked and ‘spun’ a tape and transcript of me which is actually an exoneration, rather than what they would have you believe. This continuing Witch Hunt is another ELECTION INTERFERENCE Scam. They are cheaters and thugs!”

That is just another demonstration of Trump’s acute psychosis. He thinks that the blatantly incriminating tapes exonerate him. However, a more qualified legal analyst has a markedly different opinion. Former federal prosecutor Andrew Weissmann told MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell “This is game over if you are following the facts and the law.”

Trump Promises to Ban People He Disagrees With Politically From Entering the United States

Trump’s grasp of the law is notoriously deficient. It’s often contrary to its actual interpretations, and simple-minded at best. It’s transparently twisted in order to achieve an illogical and unwarranted outcome that stretches absurdly to benefit himself.

On Saturday Trump brought his traveling salvation show to the Faith and Freedom conference, a cesspool of hypocrisy that is honoring a pathological lying, lazy, greedy, egotistical, envious, glutinous, wrathful, serial adulterer, who aspires to authoritarian tyranny. In short, a heretic who has doggedly violated all seven deadly sins and added a few of his own invention. So much for faith and freedom.

Trump mesmerized his cult followers in the audience with the same tediously repetitious rhetoric that he disgorges at virtually every public appearance. However, on this occasion, Trump introduced a new wrinkle that reeks of of the dictatorial dominance that he craves. To the delight of his devotees, Trump said that…

“Today I’m announcing a new plan to protect the integrity of our immigrations system. Federal law prohibits the entry of communists and totalitarians into the United States. So my question is, what do we do with the ones that already here, that grew up here? I think we have to pass a new law for them. Using federal law section 212(f) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, I will order my government to deny entry to all Communists and all Marxists. Those who come to enjoin our country must love our country… So we’re going to keep foreign, Christian hating Communists, Marxists and Socialists out of America.”

First of all, nowhere in Federal law does it “prohibit the entry of communists and totalitarians into the United States.” And if Trump wants new legislation that would banish native totalitarians, he would have to carefully carve out an exception for the most prominent one, Donald J. Trump.

More to the point, Trump’s proposal to order “his” government to “deny entry to all Communists and all Marxists” is grossly un-American, unconstitutional, and utterly unenforceable. After all, Trump calls all of his political foes Communists and all Marxists, including President Biden, Democrats in Congress, much of the free press, and any attorney or judge that dares to investigate or prosecute him for his multitude of crimes. In Trump’s mind – as he frequently rages emphatically – they are all “RADICAL LEFT MARXISTS, FASCISTS, COMMUNISTS, LUNATICS, & DERANGED MANIACS.”

Trump’s says that his proposal is based on Section 212(f) of the Immigration and Naturalization Act. This is the same perverse misinterpretation of the federal statute that Trump used for his racist Muslim ban. It’s a broadly written rule that can be easily exploited for nefarious purposes. It says that…

“Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.”

Now Trump is twisting this statute grotesquely to apply to political ideology. How he expects that it would be carried out is a mystery. Would every migrant be deposed prior to entry to ascertain their political beliefs? Would those beliefs be categorized as Marxist or communist if they simply offended or criticized Trump? Would it apply to Trump’s communist pals like Vladimir Putin or members of his regime?

Clearly this proposal was merely intended to whip up the inbred hatred of his cult disciples. Were he to actually have an opportunity to impose it, he would use it to ban his perceived enemies. It’s just another example of his inability to comprehend the meaning of laws as anything other than tools to advance his own personal interests.

Similarly, in the same speech, Trump exhibited his ignorance of the laws related to his current legal troubles. He repeated his ludicrous claim that the Presidential Records Act absolves him of any guilt for having stolen and hoarded classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago home/hotel, saying that…

“Whatever documents a President decides to take with him, he has the absolute right to take them. He has the absolute right to keep them, or he can give them back to NARA (National Archives and Records Administration) if he wants to talk to them like we were doing. And he can do that if he wants. That’s the law and it couldn’t be more clear.”

Not only is he misinterpreting this law, he is confessing to the crimes he was indicted for. And not for the first time…

For the record, the Presidential Records Act explicitly states that “Presidential records automatically transfer into the legal custody of the [National] Archivist as soon as the President leaves office.” That’s the law and it couldn’t be more clear.

In addition to these wildly preposterous statements, Trump told the conferees that being indicted on 37 felony counts is a “badge of courage,” and that “I’m being indicted for you.” Then, as a gift to Democratic candidates in 2024, he bragged that he was the one who was responsible for “the Supreme Court’s landmark decision ending the constitutional atrocity known as Roe V Wade.”

It is remarks like these that cement Trump’s support in the low 30’s, and make him entirely unelectable. They are, however, useful for grifting off of his gullible cult disciples. They couldn’t care less that he can’t comprehend the law, or that he uses it for unscrupulous purposes. In fact, they adore him specifically because of his desecration of, and disrespect for the law and law breakers. It’s what cult leaders and their minions do.
