Chickensh!t Trump Dodges the Debate He Proposed After His Phony Challenge Was Accepted

On Sunday Donald Trump posted a tweet that purported to challenge journalists, politicians, or anyone else, to a public debate over his “Big Lie” that the 2020 presidential election was “rigged” and “stolen” from him. Clearly the former reality TV game show host is still obsessed with his humiliating loss to President Joe Biden.

Donald Trump, Chicken

So Trump continues to whine petulantly while pressing his delusional assertions of voter fraud. Never mind that after over a year later he has still never been able to produce a shred of evidence of his charges. Had he done so he wouldn’t have lost more than sixty court cases that he filed, hoping in vain to overturn the election he lost decisively. Trump’s tweet (posted by his Twitter ban defying spokes-shill) boldly dared any comers to step forward to face off with him on the subject of “voter irregularities and fraud on a massive and determinative scale.” And he explicitly called out the “members of the highly partisan Unselect Committee of Democrats.”

Let’s set aside the fact that it would make about as much sense to debate massive voter fraud with Trump as it would to debate that the moon is comprised of green cheese. Both are preposterous premises that don’t deserve any serious consideration. And Trump would debate like a pigeon playing chess: He would just knocks all the pieces down, shit all over the board, then strut around like he won.

However, if Trump were really interested in engaging the members of the bipartisan House Select Committee investigating the January 6th insurrection, he could simply volunteer to testify before it under oath. He could bring his alleged “evidence” with him and present it to the Committee on live television.

That access to a television audience is really the only thing that Trump is interested in. His tweet referenced it promising that “It will be a ratings bonanza for television!” Which is what he yearns for. Trump knows that his public profile has faded and he desperately wants to be relevant again.

However, Trump also knows that he can’t compete in a debate against anyone with functioning brain and an education beyond the third grade. Consequently, he followed up his Sunday tweet on Tuesday with one that said

“It’s really interesting, everybody wants me on television, I get the highest ratings by far, they need ratings to survive, and yet I put out a challenge to debate me about the massive election fraud, which took place in the 2020 Presidential Election, and there are no takers—think of it, zero takers for the so-called ‘ratings machine.’ The reason is, they know they can’t win. All I have to do is lay out the facts—they are irrefutable. I’ve supposedly won all my political debates, but this would be the easiest of them all! Swing state by swing state, they get decimated. This is the Hoax and the Scam and the Crime of the Century. Just remember, no takers!”

Poor baby. Trump seems to have lost whatever cognitive capacity he had left. First of all, he’s deluded himself into believing that everybody wants him on TV. But that’s only true if the program is live coverage of his trial and conviction for crimes against America. Even Fox News isn’t airing his cult rallies anymore.

Once again, Trump is babbling about “laying out the facts,” which he could do at any time if he actually had any. And he could do it without the reality TV trappings of a debate. As for his supposedly winning “all my political debates,” virtually every neutral observer who watched any of Trump’s debates scored them as embarrassing losses for Trump.

But the most ludicrous of his assertions in this tweet is his claim there are “zero takers” for his debate challenge. For sure, most politicians and journalists are not going to fall for this sham. Nor should they. They know it would be foolish to engage Trump’s lies and to feed his gargantuan ego. But there are takers, including Marc Elias, the attorney who argued and won most of the election cases that Trump or his minions filed. And there is Judd legum, a journalist who has covered Trump throughout his presidency. And there is also Hal Sparks, a noted political humorist. And there are many others who answered the call on Twitter.

The truth is that the Wimp of Mar-a-Lago never had any intention of showing up for the debate. Trump knew that he could just waive off whoever accepted as not meeting some unstated standard. Or he could do what he’s doing – just pretend that no one replied. Because Trump is a notorious coward who still avoids any interview that isn’t conducted by a bona fide Trump-fluffer. He confines himself to safe spaces like Fox News, where he fields softballs and is never challenged. And this fake debate offer was just the latest example of his spinelessness.

Lara Logan of Fox News Compares Dr. Fauci to Sadistic Nazi War Criminal Josef Mengele

There has been a steep downturn at the Bullshit Factory of Fox News with regard to the COVID pandemic that the network is avidly supporting. If one didn’t know better, it would appear that the coronavirus is one of their top sponsors. Every program features segments that aim to boost its spread throughout the nation and the world. it could accurately be called the Fox News Pandemic.

Fox News, Vaccine

Unfortunately, he pro-COVID campaign at Fox News is having some success. In fact, the virus is now most prevalent in red states and counties where Fox News is dominant and their anti-vaccine propaganda has been absorbed. And studies show that most of the pandemic misinformation is believed by viewers of Fox News and other ultra-rightist, Trump-fluffing networks.

So naturally Fox News is upping the ante with dishonest and nauseating attacks on America’s most respected epidemiologist, Dr. Anthony Fauci. It’s a coordinated campaign that includes Republicans like Sen. Ted Cruz who called for Dr. Fauci’s arrest and prosecution.

On Monday Fox’s Lara Logan sunk to even deeper depths of cretinism. She unleashed a tirade against the the advocacy of vaccines, for which she says “there’s no justification” because It’s “a disease that ultimately is very treatable” and “has death rates that compare very much to seasonal flu.” Apparently she hasn’t heard about the nearly 800,000 Americans who have died, or the millions who have suffered, some with persistent, disabling symptoms. And she is still clinging to the long ago debunked falsehood that COVID is no worse than the flu.

But if you think that those flagrant lies were bad, you aint heard nothin’ yet. Logan went on to malign Dr. Fauci in the most loathsome manner imaginable:

“What you see on Dr. Fauci – this is what people say to me – that he doesn’t represent science to them. He represents Josef Mengele. The Nazi doctor who did experiments on Jews during the 2nd World War and in the concentration camps.”

Seriously? Logan is equating the monstrous crimes of a sadistic war criminal who conducted inhumane experiments on Jewish concentration camp prisoners – including children – to Dr. Fauci’s scientifically grounded advice to get vaccinated. Mengele tortured and murdered innocent people. Dr. Fauci is working to save the lives of the vaccine recipients and all those they may encounter. But to Lara Logan and Fox News, those are the same thing. And her hosts on Fox News nodded approvingly at her rancid rhetoric.

Logan went on to complain that common sense measures to mitigate the harm from the coronavirus were exacting too harsh a toll on civil liberties and the economy. The truth is that the deranged thinking of people like her and her Fox News confederates are responsible for that. They are prolonging the harm that the pandemic will cause by resisting efforts to defeat it.

Logan closed her rant by asserting that the Omicron variant is some sort of phony plot contrived for political gain by Democrats. And this wasn’t the first time that Fox News has peddled that paranoid bullpucky. It is part and parcel of their editorial mission to disgorge deliberate fallacies in order to advance their political goals.

Ironically, that makes the practices of Logan and Fox News more comparable to horrors of Mengele. They are actually subjecting their viewers to deadly experiments for partisan gain. The difference is that Mengele’s victims were forced into their horrendous circumstances. Fox News viewers are willfully placing themselves in the path of great harm and participating in their own potential demise.

UH-OH: Trump Flunky and QAnon Hero, Michael Flynn, Caught on Tape Calling QAnon ‘Total Nonsense’

Never let it be said that the QAnon movement has hit rock bottom. There is literally no bottom to their rancid brand of derangement and hatred. And a common feature of such lunatic crusades is their tendency to self-destruct when the slightest bit of scrutiny is applied.

Donald Trump, QAnon, Dictator

And so it goes. One of the most admired proponents in the QAnon cult of crazy is former Trump National Security Advisor, Michael Flynn. This is same guy who recently accused “global elites” (aka Jews) of creating COVID; advocated a military coup to make Trump a dictator; and called for one religion in America.

RELATED: The Party of Trump and QAnon: Republicans Worship an Impotent Loser

It’s that sort of crackpottery that has helped Flynn to rise above the daily discharge of QAnon cacophony. Which makes the latest revelation about Flynn all the more jarring, albeit entertaining. And this melodrama also stars Lin Wood, another Trump sycophant and QAnon fave who has made a name for himself as a bona fide nut case. According to the Daily Beast

“On Saturday night, pro-Trump lawyer and QAnon booster Lin Wood released a recording of what purports to be a phone call between Wood and Flynn on Telegram.”

This recording caught Flynn disparaging the freakazoids that worship him. He called QAnon “a disinformation campaign created by the CIA,” and said that it is “total nonsense.” In his own words…

“The QAnon movement really is a movement that spun out of your digital soldiers. I’m tired of these QAnon people attacking me. I think it’s a disinformation campaign created by the CIA. That’s what I believe now. I mean, I don’t know that for a fact, but that’s what I think it is. I think it’s a disinformation campaign. There’s actually a very interesting article today out that was sent to me – I’ll send it to you – about how the QAnon movement has failed, and all that. But I find it total nonsense, and I think it’s a disinformation campaign created by the left and the types of people that can create something like that are the kinds of people that we trained with certain skills in the CIA, so I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s what it was.”

Oh my. That’s gonna stir the crackpot. For his part, Wood was also dismissive of QAnon, calling it a “white hat” operation that was kidnapped by the “black hats.” Although he may have confused them with Trump’s “red hats.” The article that Flynn referenced appears to be one by the white supremacist radio host, Hal Turner, that advocated what amounts to civil war.

RELATED: Where’s Trump? And Why Isn’t He Ordering His QAnon Troops to Stand Down?

Since QAnon resides on the fringes of reality it wasn’t possible get a comment from whoever might be their spokesperson. But suffice to say that “Q” is probably not pleased. Unless, of course, they contend that this was all part of their devious plan to trick the liberals into thinking that the Q-A-Nonsense movement was as disjointed as it actually is. And in the confusion JFK, Jr sneaks Trump back into the White House through the back door. It’s a fiendish scheme, to be sure. And one that their dimwitted followers would eagerly lap up.

Snowflake Trump Issues Challenge for a Debate About His ‘Big Lie’ Promising ‘a Ratings Bonanza’

Among the most prominent character flaws of Donald Trump is his notorious cowardice. This is a big-talking bully who is spending his golden years hiding behind his Twitter ban defying spokes-shill to post messages that exalt himself, and lie and insult his multitude of perceived enemies. And he’s too scared to conduct an interview with anyone but his slobbering sycophants on Fox News, Newsmax, and other Trump-fluffing media hacks.

Donald Trump, Snowflakes

Consequently, it was surprising to see Trump’s tweet on Sunday wherein he issued a challenge for a public debate. Trump is still obsessed with his humiliating election loss more than a year ago. and he continues to press forward with his delusional assertions of voter fraud for which neither he, nor his cartoonish mouthpieces such as pillow magnate Mike Lindell, have ever been able to provide evidence. Undeterred by reality, Trump wrote that…

“The Fake News Media cannot stand the fact that so many people in our Country know the truth, that the 2020 Election was rigged and stolen, yet almost every article written contains the words the ‘Big Lie’ or ‘unsubstantiated facts,’ etc., always trying to demean the real results.”

There are good reasons that credible journalists use words like “Big Lie” and “unsubstantiated facts,” when referring to Trump’s fallacious election falsehoods. After a year, and more than sixty failed court challenges, Trump has produced nothing to support his bogus babbling. Continuing with his Twitter tirade, Trump said…

“I am willing to challenge the heads of the various papers or even far left politicians, who have perpetuated the Real Big Lie, which is voter irregularities and fraud on a massive and determinative scale. This includes members of the highly partisan Unselect Committee of Democrats who refuse to delve into what caused the January 6th protest—it was the Fake Election results!”

If Trump were truly interested in engaging the members of the bipartisan House Select Committee investigating the January 6th insurrection, he could just volunteer to testify before it under oath. Don’t hold your breath. His characterization of the riots in Washington as a “protest” affirm his support for the insurrectionists, and for violent and anti-democratic means to achieve his authoritarian goals.

What’s more, Trump’s pretend invitation for a TV dialog implies that he thinks media executives and politicians would be willing to lower themselves to indulge his psychotic fantasies. That’s unlikely, and Trump knows it, as he reveals in his next sentence, saying that…

“While I am willing to do it, they will never agree because they cannot argue that facts in states including Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Georgia, Arizona, Nevada, New Hampshire, and others such as New Mexico, where the Democrat Secretary of State changed the voting laws without legislative approval just prior to the Election, making it virtually impossible for the Republican presidential candidate to win.”

Needless to say, there are no facts that support Trump’s charges. If there were, he would have produced them long ago. Even the rabidly biased Cyber Ninjas who conducted the Arizona “fraudit” eventually concluded that Joe Biden had legitimately won the election by an even wider margin than originally reported.

However, Trump is admitting that he knew his debate challenge wouldn’t be accepted. Nor should it be. That would just be humoring a mentally disabled schizoid and his flagrant fallacies. In fact, a coward like Trump would never have suggested a debate if he thought that anyone would agree to it. Remember when he ditched a Fox News debate because Megyn Kelly was the moderator? Instead he staged a phony “telethon” for veterans, but tried to keep the donations for himself. But Trump still wasn’t through. He closed his rant saying that…

“If anyone would like a public debate on the facts, not the fiction, please let me know. It will be a ratings bonanza for television!”

Here we have Trump daring “anyone” to take him up on his debate challenge for the only actual reason he might consider it: Television ratings. That’s the currency with which narcissists barter. Trump desperately wants to be relevant again, and a televised debate would indeed put him in front of a large audience.

But it would still be a waste of time because Trump wouldn’t – and couldn’t – serve up proof of his claims in such a forum. It would just be another opportunity for him to disgorge lies and insults while shouting down his opponent.

That said, it would be interesting from an entertainment perspective. So while no serious journalist or politician should sink to accepting this offer, perhaps someone like Michael Moore, or Al Franken, or Wanda Sykes, could consider it. After all, Trump did say “anyone.” Odds are Trump would slink away in fear as fast as he could waddle should he get such a response.

UPDATE: Trump is now dodging the debate he proposed.

Dr. Fauci Laughs at Ted Cruz’s Call for Him to Be Prosecuted and Hits Back at Science Deniers

With the advent of the new, and potentially more dangerous, Omicron variant of the coronavirus, Republicans are ramping up their disinformation machine to either dismiss the threat as fake (which Fox News did on Saturday), or to blame the entire COVID pandemic on President Biden (which Trump and the Wall Street Journal did on Friday).

Ted Cruz, COVID Virus

Among the most prominent anti-science crusaders on the right is Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Cancun). Cruz has taken a leading role in the vilification of America’s foremost epidemiologist, Dr. Anthony Fauci. On Saturday Cruz made a formal request (via tweet) asking the Attorney General to prosecute Dr. Fauci for lying to Congress, for which Cruz’s own basis is a lie. Dr. fauci was given an opportunity to respond to Cruz on Sunday’s edition of Face the Nation:

Host Margaret Brennan: Sen. Cruz told the Attorney General that you should be prosecuted.
Fauci: [Laughing] I have to laugh at that. I should be prosecuted? What happened on January 6, Senator?
Brennan: Do you think that this is about making you a scapegoat to deflect from president Trump?
Fauci: Of course. You’d have to be asleep not to figure that one out.
Brennan: Well, there are a lot of Republican senators taking aim at this.
Fauci: That’s okay. I’m just gonna do my job, and I’m gonna be saving lives, and they’re gonna be lying.

https://twitter.com/atrupar/status/1464995464424603651

Dr. Fauci was exhibiting his Brooklyn roots by slamming Cruz for his defense of the Trump-inspired insurrection on January 6th. Indeed, Cruz has declined all efforts to hold the StormTrumpers accountable for their seditious crimes. But more to the point, Dr. Fauci passionately stood up for science and the critical role it plays in protecting lives, saying that…

“Anybody who’s looking at this carefully realizes that there’s a distinct anti-science flavor to this. […] They’re really criticizing science. Because I represent science. That’s dangerous. To me that’s more dangerous than the slings and the arrows that get thrown at me. And if you damage science you are doing something very detrimental to society long after I leave.”

There is no doubt that the Republican aversion to science has made life more difficult. They have prolonged the pandemic and directly contributed to the suffering and loss of life that was otherwise preventable. And studies show that there is by far more COVID cases and fatalities in GOP dominated states and counties. Not surprisingly, those enhanced risks in red territory is linked directly to the disinformation put out by Fox News and other right-wing media.

It’s astonishing how the Trumpian right can hold views that are so diametrically opposed. They have asserted that the pandemic is fake. But if it isn’t fake, it’s no worse than the flu. But if it is worse, it can be cured by horse dewormer or bleach. But you don’t need a cure because it’s fake.

And all of this culminates in demands that experts like Dr. Fauci, who have spent their whole lives dedicated to saving the lives of others, be sent to prison for daring to disseminate science. That’s how far the right has fallen into the abyss of ignorance and willful blindness.

FAST AND FURIOUS! Fox News is Already Lying to Their Cult Viewers that the Omicron Variant is Fake

This didn’t take long. Less than 48 hours after the Omicron variant of the coronavirus was reported, Fox News has begun their disinformation campaign to make sure that their already dimwitted viewers remain ignorant and at risk.

Fox News, Covid

On Saturday morning’s episode of Fox and Friends, the “Curvy Couch” potatoes engaged in a discussion about the COVID pandemic and the new variant spreading rapidly in South Africa and elsewhere:

Rachel Campos-Duffy: The answer is more lockdowns, more lockdowns. More fear. And therefore, he doesn’t have to do his job of fixing the supply chain because we’ll just keep this whole thing going.
Will Cain: Always a new variant.
Pete Hegseth: Count on a variant about every October, every two years.
Cain: You’re probably right. However, they could speed up the variants. They could come more quickly.
Hegseth: [mimicking phone call] We’re gonna need a new variant here.

So according to these sick and sociopathic Super-spreaders, the Omicron variant is fake. Never mind that it is an international threat affirmed by science. To Fox it’s just a plot by President Biden and Democrats to control Americans. They apparently think it would be a good move politically to shut down businesses and schools; to throw people out of work after achieving the lowest number of unemployment filings in more than fifty years; and to cripple the economy that has been booming ever since Biden was inaugurated. With success like that these Fox News numbskulls think that Biden is now conspiring to put an end to all of it.

And yet, while the Omicron variant is fake to these Fox News pea-brains, over on the alleged “news” side of Fox, where fear mongering is job one, they found a way to treat it as a real threat: Blame it on immigrants. So now a “caravan” of Omicron-infected refugees are headed for the border. The bigotry emanating from Fox is just too predictable.

There is a multilevel idiocy to these remarks. First of all, Fox News has been at the forefront of COVID disinformation from the very start. Consequently, they are responsible for more people being unvaccinated. Studies show that Fox News viewers are significantly trailing viewers of other media in getting vaccinated. Additionally, most recent COVID deaths have been concentrated in red states and counties where Fox News is most viewed.

And if that weren’t bad enough, there is also the psychotic view among the cult of Fox News viewers – who are also Trump cult members – that the vaccines don’t even work. But by remaining unvaccinated they are actually increasing the chances for new and more dangerous variants to form.

And if even that weren’t bad enough, the very same people who believe the virus and the vaccines are all hoaxes by Democrats for reasons they can’t explain, also believe that Donald Trump deserves credit for the vaccines. Former Trump White House staffer, Stephen Miller was on Fox News Saturday saying that…

“If President Trump was still in office, by the way, we’d already have modified vaccines to deal with the new variants. Which is a great point. President Trump brought us vaccines in record time, which he made voluntary, not mandatory. And he’d have updates too.”

Really? Miller seems to think that Trump would have come up with a modified version of the vaccine before the new variant was even discovered. But he would still not advocate for people to get vaccinated because … FREEDUMB!

For the record, Biden has not made vaccines mandatory. He just highly recommends them and requires that people who choose not to get vaccinated be tested weekly. That’s a less strict policy than the one that Fox News imposes on their employees (including the Fox and Friends gang), where testing for the unvaccinated is required daily.

Fox News is continuing to breed the sort of ignorance that is getting people killed and preventing a return to some sense of normalcy. They are spreading lies intended to make life more difficult because they believe that it will harm Biden and help Trump. And their callousness with regard to all of the people who will suffer and die due to their political self interests is reprehensible. But that has always been the mission of Fox News, and it isn’t going to change. The rest of us will just have work harder to make sure they don’t succeed.

GEEZ! Trump is STILL Obsessed With the ‘Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax’ that is NOT a Hoax

One of the defining personality flaws of Donald Trump is his steadfast determination to propagate lies that have been thoroughly debunked. Undeterred by reality, he continues to press his case on matters such as his “Big Lie” about election fraud; his border wall that was not built nor paid for by Mexico; and his deadly denialism about the COVID pandemic and responsible measures to defeat it.

Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin

Years go by with Trump mindlessly clinging to the same flagrant falsehoods and peddling them to his dimwitted cult disciples. And foremost among these fantasies are Trump’s denials of his well documented and unsavory connections to Russia.

RELATED: Trump Threatens to Sue Pulitzers to Revoke Awards for Factual Russian Collusion Stories

For some reason Trump has been especially fixated on this subject recently. Just in the past week he has been furiously kicking and screaming like a spoiled toddler over what he calls the “Russia, Russia, Russia hoax.” In a tirade of tempestuous tweets Trump grumped that…

  • I view the story being concocted by the Unselect Committee about the so-called insurrection of January 6th (actually, November 3rd!) [see this for what he’s talking about] the same way as the Democrats’ Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax, now fully debunked and discredited!”
  • Our Country has been taken over by Scammers and Hoaxsters, and we have to take it back. Just like the Russia, Russia, Russia Scam has now been totally debunked and discredited as a FAKE Democrat/Crooked Hillary”
  • CNN’s fake ‘reckoning’ over the Steele dossier”
  • Fake News refusing to cover the Presidential Election Fraud is the Russia Hoax in REVERSE: No coverage of a real scandal, versus endless coverage of a Democrat Fake News scandal!”
  • Pulitzer board stonewalls queries about Trump lawsuit, rescinding prizes for debunked reporting [about Trump/Russia]”
  • Durham Unravels the Russia Case”
  • Why don’t they investigate Crooked Hillary, when so much has now been proven about her and her campaign’s lies and dealings with Russia to smear me and spy on my campaign?”

Perhaps the tender sensitivities of Snowflake Trump were triggered by an article in The Atlantic by veteran conservative, David Frum, that refuted the Trumpian right-wingers who have been erroneously claiming that some inaccuracies in the infamous Steele Dossier mean that all of the evidence of Trump’s chumminess with Putin and Russia are invalid, even the evidence that has nothing to do with the Dossier.

Frum detailed much of that evidence in his article with findings from the report of the Senate Intelligence Committee, that was then chaired by Richard Burr, a Republican from North Carolina. Those findings include accounts of meetings between Russians and Trump, his family, and other close associates. It also revealed that Trump was simultaneously taking positions that advanced Putin’s foreign policy goals, particularly the undermining of American democracy.

RELATED: Putin Toady Trump Admits He Trusts Russia Over U.S. On Eve of Summit with Biden

Much of what Frum compiled was also documented in the studiously researched book “Russian Roulette: The Inside Story of Putin’s War on America and the Election of Donald Trump,” by Michael Isikoff and David Corn. And Frum closed his article with this summation refuting those who were trying to exonerate Trump with mistaken allusions to the factual errors in the Steele Dossier:

“It remains fact that Russian hackers and spies helped his campaign. It remains fact that the Trump campaign welcomed the help. […] It remains fact that Trump and those around him lied, and lied, and lied again about their connections to Russia.”

No wonder Trump is ranting relentlessly about Russia, Russia, Russia. He realizes that he needs to reinforce the lies he’s been futilely spewing for years. But he doesn’t realize that if it hasn’t worked yet, it isn’t going to. Nevertheless, his lies spill forth again and again. But then, when has Trump ever not lied about anything?

Trump and the Wall Street Journal Flagrantly Lie About COVID Fatalities to Malign Biden

The determination of right-wing media outlets to vilify President Biden on a constant basis is the driving force of their malicious editorial mission. Fox News, Newsmax, and others, keep up a perpetual parade of disparaging propaganda even when there are no facts to support their attacks.

Donald Trump, Coronavirus

Rupert Murdoch’s Wall Street Journal is among those media manglers hellbent on spreading disinformation intended to deceive their readers and damage Biden’s reputation. On Friday they published an article with an ominous headline declaring the advent of “Biden’s Covid Death Milestone.” Trump promptly tweeted a link to the article (via his Twitter ban defying spokes-shill) The gist of the hit piece was summarized in the opening paragraph stating falsely that…

“It would seem that Mr. Biden has done no better than Donald Trump in defeating Covid despite the benefit of vaccines, better therapies, and more clinical experience.”

The Journal’s argument was based on the fact that there have been about the same number of deaths due to COVID in 2021, during Biden’s presidency, as there were in 2020, during Trump’s. However, that disembodied “factoid” lacks both context and mathematical soundness.

The Journal conveniently left out the relatively massive expansion of the coronavirus and how it blanketed the nation from its inception. It went from nonexistence to pandemic in just a few weeks. That’s where the Journal’s math fell short. Here’s why…

Starting from zero there are fewer people infected and, consequently, fewer people to transmit it to others. The growth of incidents of transmission increases exponentially as the population of those infected increases. For instance, if there are ten people infected, growth of 100% would result in 20 total infected people. However, if there are 10,000 people infected, growth of 100% would result in 20,000 total infected people. So there are far more infected people, but the exact same percentage growth rate.

In real terms, during Trump’s last year in office the number of fatalities went from 10 (when Trump said it would soon decline back to zero) to 400,000, an increase of four million (4,000,000!) percent. During Biden’s first year in office the number of fatalities went from about 400,000 to 800,000, an increase of only 100 percent. That’s a fatality rate percentage decline of 99.9975 percent. So it is brazenly dishonest to say that Biden did no better than Trump. The truth is that during Biden’s term the United States went from 4000 people dying every day by the end of Trump’s term, to about 1,000 deaths a day under Biden, A decline of 75 percent.

What’s more, it must not be forgotten that more than 90% of the new hospitalizations and fatalities are among unvaccinated people. And those vaccine resisters are almost entirely Fox News viewers. It would not be inaccurate to call this the Pandemic of Fox News. Not surprisingly, the unvaccinated are predominantly Trump supporters and Republicans.

From the start of the pandemic Trump has sought to downplay its severity. In the book RAGE, by Bob Woodward it was documented that Trump had deliberately lied about the severity of the coronavirus, saying that he “wanted to always play it down.” Which he is still doing today. Trump insiders recently disclosed that he has refused to promote vaccines because it might upset his cult followers or, gawd forbid, help Biden.

The bottom line for these cretins is, as usual, prioritizing whatever is in their own political self-interest. They couldn’t care less about the suffering and loss of life that they are purposefully contributing to. And to that end they put out lies like this one in the Wall Street Journal that seek to suppress the successes of the Biden administration. Hopefully the truth will find a way to reach the American people through means other than Murdoch’s bullshit factory.

Trump’s Thanksgiving Tweets Tell America to Stuff It and Praise a Felonious Turkey He Pardoned

If there is one thing that Donald Trump is known for, it’s posting epically incoherent commentaries on social media that are simultaneously hysterical and frightening. And this Thanksgiving isn’t any different. The Whiner-in-Chief couldn’t refrain from dispensing his trademark brand of anti-American negativity when supposedly wishing the nation a happy holiday, along with self-serving inferences about how we are failing and going in the wrong direction.

Past examples of Trump’s Thanksgiving tirades include the year when he was asked what he was most thankful for and he replied himself. And then there was the year that he insulted the troops for Thanksgiving (and also thanked himself). Last year Trump was too consumed with fury over his “Big Lie” about the election to celebrate Thanksgiving. This year Fox News joined the War on Thanksgiving by criticizing President Biden for wanting to spend the holiday with his family.

Despite that record of unrelenting holiday derp, Trump may have outdone himself this year. On Wednesday he posted a tweet (via his Twitter ban defying spokes-shill) that sinks fathoms below even his pathetically low standards. He babbled that…

“The Unselect Committee issued a subpoena to Bernie Kerik, an American Patriot and great former Police Commissioner of New York City, for its Jan. 6th Witch Hunt, but didn’t realize what they were demanding is a massive trove of evidence of Voter Fraud. According to Bernie’s lawyer, these documents show significant indicators of fraud in the 2020 Presidential Election Scam, but have remained hidden from the public. It is exactly what the Unselect Committee should be interested in—if this was a real investigation.

“Bernie wants to comply with the subpoena with a public hearing, and asked me to waive attorney-client privilege so Bernie can testify and provide documents, which I grant him. The Unselect Committee will not like what they asked for!”

There’s a lot to unpack in that terse discharge. Let’s begin with Trump unveiling another of his infantile nicknames that he imagines are brilliant putdowns. He calls the bipartisan Congressional Select Committee investigating his culpability for the January 6th insurrection “Unselect.” That’s the sort of wit for which he will go down in history with hapless comic trolls who never made it out of the third grade.

The subject of Trump’s Twantrum is Bernie Kerik, a Rudy Giuliani henchman who spent three years in prison after pleading guilty to eight felony charges, and was later pardoned by Trump. That’s the sort sort of cretin that Trump regards as a “patriot.”

Trump is in a tizzy because Kerik was subpoenaed by the Committee, but consoled by his delusion that Kerik has “a massive trove of evidence of Voter Fraud” that he thinks will be revealed should he testify. Of course, this Committee isn’t investigating Trump’s election “Big Lie” fantasies and is unlikely to waste time with Kerik’s alleged evidence. And Trump’s assertion that Kerik has been hoarding proof of fraud that has been “hidden from the public” for nearly a year is laughably absurd. If they actually had such evidence, why have they been keeping secret for so long?

Nevertheless, Trump is exuding confidence that this is such a dramatic turning point that he is granting Kerik a waiver of attorney-client privileges. That’s awfully generous of him. Never mind that Kerik is not an attorney and never represented Trump, so there is no such applicable privilege to waive. For the record, the Committee subpoenaed Kerik because he…

“…reportedly participated in a meeting on January 5, 2021, at the Willard Hotel in Washington D.C., in which Rudolph Giuliani, Stephen Bannon, John Eastman, and others discussed options for overturning the results of the November 2020 election such as, among other things, pressuring Vice President Pence not to certify the electoral college results.”

Kerik is disputing those allegations. Which is peculiar because he previously admitted that “his firm billed the Trump campaign more than $55,000 for rooms for the legal team [and] was later reimbursed, records show.”

So this all just more desperate noise from Trump and his minions as they try to muddy the waters with deflections and lies. If Kerik follows through on his promise to testify before the Committee, we will see if Trump’s prediction that the Committee “will not like what they asked for” comes to pass. But if history is any guide it will be Trump who doesn’t like the results.

Trump Throws Antifa Tantrum Over January 6th Insurrection on Sean Hannity’s Fox News Fluff Fest

Nearly ten months ago Donald Trump dispatched his psycho StormTrumpers to the Capitol in a doomed but deadly attempt to stage a violent coup. The January 6th insurrection revealed the chilling lengths that the Cult of Trump would go to in order to seize power for a tyrannical madman.

Donald Trump Rally, Sieg Heil

In the months that followed, Trump has doggedly pursued his single-minded obsession with undermining democracy and exalting himself as America’s first dictator. Much of that objective involved justifying the brutality of the rioters that he incited. From the start he portrayed the rioters as “patriots” and told them that he “loved” them. Despite voluminous video evidence of violence against people and property, Trump told Laura Ingraham of Fox News that his neo-fascist fanatics posed “zero threat.”

Trump is still peddling those pernicious and self-serving lies. The latest episode occurred Tuesday evening on Sean Hannity’s Fox News Fluff Fest (video below) where Trump did what he does best: Whine! He ranted for the full hour about his delusional claims that he won the “rigged and stolen” presidential election, insisting that the real insurrection occurred on November 3, 2020 (election day), not January 6th. And he complained about Congress having the gall to investigate the worst assault on the U.S. seat of government since the Civil War. He blathered that…

“Our country focuses on so many of these fake investigations and we don’t focus on greatness any longer. Everything is an investigation. You look at what’s going on now when you have an ‘Unselect’ Committee – it’s an ‘Unselect.’ And the way they’re treating people. And yet Antifa, who are bad…BLM…You look at all of the horror shows and the death and destruction they cause. And they don’t go after them. But they go after people that in many cases – not in all cases – but in many, many cases are patriots. And you had some bad people – if you look at what happened at the Capitol – you had some bad people that were not patriots at all. And they came from other places including Antifa and including others, and they led a lot of people astray. They don’t want to cover that. They don’t want to cover the election results.”

First of all, there wouldn’t be so many investigations if Trump and his confederates didn’t commit so many crimes. No president has had more administration and campaign associates indicted and convicted than Trump, who was impeached twice himself. And if he really wants to focus on greatness, he might consider the unprecedented success of the Biden administration that has accomplished more in ten months than Trump did in four years.

Trump also reaffirms his infantile temperament with his “Unselect” nickname, for the bipartisan House Select Committee, that would make an eight year old cringe. He further asserts that the criminals who stormed Congress are being treated poorly because they are being held accountable for their crimes.

What’s more, Trump’s complaint that the election results weren’t covered is really just his desperate yearning for his lies about nonexistent election fraud to be accepted, despite the utter absence of any evidence after nearly a year, more than sixty court cases, and the indefatigable efforts of the MyPillow crackpot, Mike Lindell, and Fox News.

However, where Trump really skids off the rails is with his defense of the rioters as “patriots” and his baseless assertion that the “bad people” were clandestine members of the fictional foils of the far right, Antifa. But while Trump and others of his ilk seek to falsely lay the blame for all civil unrest on Antifa, Trump’s own Department of Homeland Security concluded that it is right-wing extremists who pose the most risk of violence.

Trump’s ludicrous accusations against imaginary leftist agitators also contradicts much of what is claimed by his own supporters. Tucker Carlson, for instance, is convinced that it wasn’t Antifa but the FBI that orchestrated the January 6th insurrection. He even produced a lie-riddled, multipart crocumentary on the subject that he titled “Patriot Purge.” And Trump fanboy Alex Jones posted his own video confession that his orders for the insurrection came directly from Trump.

Given the rampant dishonesty and incoherent ramblings of Trump and his dimwitted disciples, it is impossible to take his latest spleen venting seriously. Not that that was ever considered by rational thinkers. But it is still unsettling to see him persisting with this line of asininity. And it is even more troubling to know that there are mental defectives like Carlson, Jones, and most of the Republican Party who continue to put their faith in Trump’s fever dreams.
