Trump Crime Syndicate: Investors Arrested for Insider Trading in Failing Truth Social Scam

The criminal tendencies of Donald Trump and his felonious fellowship continues to be exposed by law enforcement authorities who have still only scratched the surface of his nefarious and rampant wrongdoing. He has demonstrated for decades his conviction that he is above the law and entitled to violate it whenever it suits him.

Trump is currently awaiting trial on more than 60 felony counts resulting from his criminal activities. The charges pending against him range from falsifying business records, to unlawful possession of classified documents, to obstruction of justice, and much, much more. This is the behavior of a mob boss bent on building an organized crime operation, even if he isn’t particularly good at it.

On Thursday it was reported that Trump’s associates in his truthless, anti-social media venture, “Truth Social,” were arrested and charged with insider trading. According to CNN…

“Federal prosecutors arrested three investors on Thursday on insider trading charges related to a deal to take former President Donald Trump’s media business public.

According to the indictment, the three individuals together made more than $22 million in illegal profits in October 2021 by purchasing shares in Digital World Acquisition Corporation (DWAC) after secretly learning about the blank-check firm’s plan to buy Truth Social owner Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG).”

Shortly after Trump’s Truth Social was announced, it was tied to the special purpose acquisition company (SPAC), DWAC. The law prohibits SPACs from discussing potential acquisition targets prior to their formation. But obviously the word about the Trump connection got out. The stock immediately ran up to $175.00, which is where the indicted investors bailed out with huge gains. The stock now sits at about $12.00.

There are reasons that the stock has cratered. The whole enterprise is a sham that is failing pitifully. It cannot grow its user base or attract advertising. Meanwhile, the reputation for illegal activity on Trump’s part has been evident in the affairs of his Truth Social disease. What follows are a just a few of the licentious legal landmarks for the illicit enterprise:

Trump Files Ludicrous Lawsuit Against the Washington Post for Defaming His Truth Social Scam
Trump has no basis for this suit. For one thing, he is constantly claiming that his Pravda Social is a massive success, greatly eclipsing Twitter. Also, it’s hard to defame a business that began as a fraud and went downhill from there.

Trump’s Truth Social CEO Whines that Shareholders in His Alt-Twitter Scam Are Being Wiped Out
Nunes visited Newsmax to swing open his tear ducts with mournful moaning about the catastrophic business for which he is the chief executive.

Trump Made Less than $200 on Truth Social According to His FEC Financial Disclosure
As for Trump, he was reported to own 90% of TMTG, which earned him less than $200 according to his financial disclosure. That’s hardly representative of the huge success that Trump has claimed Truth Social to be.

Trump’s ‘Truth Social’ Faces Legal and Financial Turmoil Amid Disclosures of Russian Funding
The report notes that the sources of the funding include the off-shore Paxum Bank, based in the Caribbean island nation, Dominica. It is notorious for “providing banking services for the pornography and sex worker industries, which makes it higher risk of engaging in money laundering and other illicit financing.”

Truth Social Disease: Ads on Trump’s Twitter Ripoff are Mostly Scams and Trump-Fluffing Merch
Advertisers are afraid of their ads being juxtaposed with hate speech and other noxious content. Consequently, the only advertisers who are willing to shell out are sketchy scammers, conspiracy theorists, and junk peddlers.

LOCK HIM UP: Trump’s TRUTH Social Scam is Being Criminally Investigated By a Federal Grand Jury
In addition to the Grand Jury proceedings, the SEC is investigating whether TMTG and DWAC executives improperly coordinated with each other and engaged in insider trading. They have also partnered with a Chinese firm with a dubious legal past.

As a bonus, it turns out that Trump bailed on his crooked company just weeks before subpoenas were served. He removed himself and Don Jr from the board of TMTG and is no longer named as the company’s chairman. But if he thinks that will enable him to escape legal liability, he’s going to be sorely disappointed.

UPDATE July 7: DWAC and the SEC have reportedly reached an agreement regarding the company’s merger deal with TMTG. According to CNN, “If it’s approved, the SEC will enter a cease-and-desist order with the company, finding DWAC violated ‘antifraud provisions’ connected to initial public offering filings. [and] If DWAC amends its IPO filings, it will have to pay the SEC an $18 million civil penalty after the closing of any merger deal.”

UPDATE August 4: DWAC’s auditor has resigned, signaling deeper problems with the SPAC’s finances. They now need to find another auditor before they can complete their deal with Trump Media, which increasingly looks like it may never go through at all.

UPDATE August 10: DWAC has again extended their deadline to complete the merger with Trump’s TMTG. The new so-called deadline is December 31, more than two years later than the original completion date.

GOP Reactions to the Supreme Court’s Affirmative Action Ruling Affirms Bias for the Privileged

Just days after the Supreme Court unexpectedly ruled against the Independent State Legislature theory that would have allowed politicians to take control of the electoral process and usurp the will of voters, they have reverted to form by banning Affirmative Action in college admissions.

Like their decision last year to overturn Roe v. Wade, this decision rolls back precedents that have been in place for half a century. The conservative majority on the court concluded that considerations of race were a violation of the 14th Amendment to the Constitution and that any need to balance systemic racism in American society today was no longer necessary.

How they came to that conclusion is a mystery considering the prevalence of prejudice that is apparent to everyone except these right-wing Justices. Particularly Clarence Thomas who is a beneficiary of Affirmative Action, as well as Affluent Action via gifts/bribes from his wealthy friends.

It’s easy to assess the impact of this decision by simply observing the reactions from Republicans, who have been celebrating it enthusiastically. Let’s begin with Donald Trump, who is largely responsible since he appointed three of the Justices who decided it…

“This is a great day for America, People with extraordinary ability…are finally being rewarded. [and that] We’re going back to all merit-based.”

He’s right about one thing. We are “going back” to an era when discrimination was engaged in openly and without consequence. Although it’s funny to hear Trump exalt the Supreme Court that he recently complained had “lost its honor” when they ruled that his tax returns could be turned over to Congress…

“Why would anybody be surprised that the Supreme Court has ruled against me, they always do! […] The Supreme Court has lost its honor, prestige, and standing, & has become nothing more than a political body, with our Country paying the price. They refused to even look at the Election Hoax of 2020. Shame on them!”

Clearly Trump can’t recall from one day to the next what he’s outraged or elated about. And then there’s GOP House Squeaker Kevin McCarthy who said that…

“The Supreme Court just ruled that no American should be denied educational opportunities because of race. Now students will be able to compete based on equal standards and individual merit.”

Never mind that the academic standards have always been equal. Affirmation Action only applied after the student’s merits were already established. And then there’s Rep. Lauren Boebert…

“Affirmative Action is unconstitutional and has always been unconstitutional. This country should only be based on merit, not racism.”

This utopian view is often presented by conservative racists who like to pretend that there is no racism. And then there’s Rep. Ronny Jackson…

“THANK YOU to President Trump for nominating justices who ENDED affirmative action & institutional racism in college admissions. College admissions should be based on MERIT ALONE.”

He believes that the policies implemented to mitigate racism are racist themselves. And then there’s Rep. Matt Gaetz…

“Artificial diversity and race-based college admission regimes have been usurped; meritocracy is once again king.”

That’s more of the same phony whining about diversity, which they regard as anathema to their white supremacist agenda.

What all of these unabashed bigots have in common, besides their prejudice, is hypocrisy. While they yammer incessantly about merit-based admissions, they never complain about students who get admitted because they are legacies or have family that makes large donations to the school of their choice. The wealth or academic past of a student’s parents has absolutely nothing to do with with that student’s merits.

If merit were truly an issue, these Republicans should be clamoring for an end to such admissions. But they aren’t, and they won’t. Because their real motivation is pure, unadulterated racism. Which is further evident in their opposition to President Biden’s remarks about the Court’s ruling, wherein he set the record straight about Affirmative Action. He noted that it does not require colleges to admit students who are not qualified, but that qualification standards must be met before the consideration of other factors such as race.

No matter how they try to disguise it, the racism of the Republican Party is exposed by their own words and actions. And that will continue for the foreseeable future. However, the racism demonstrated by the Supreme Court does not have to be tolerated. By voting for Democrats in Congress and the White House we can reform the Court’s policies and personnel. And decisions like the one today make that all the more imperative.

Fox News Hack Viciously Attacks Biden and Garland After Release of Incriminating Trump Tapes

We are living in what an old Chinese curse described as “interesting times.” These are times wherein Donald Trump seems to confess to, or implicate himself, in a new crime every day. His pitiful public pleadings are often inadvertent admissions of guilt, even as he is attempting to assert his virginal innocence.

On Monday CNN released audio recordings of Trump from July 2021 (listen to them here), wherein he is heard divulging the contents of classified documents to people who did not have the required security clearances to hear them. The whole conversation has the demeanor of jovial barroom banter. It was definitely not a meeting about national security. Trump is heard bragging about the classified documents that he has previously said didn’t exist, or were declassified with his mind, or were planted by the FBI.

According to CNN…

“Trump’s statements on the audio recording, saying ‘these are the papers’ and referring to something he calls ‘highly confidential’ and seems to be showing others in the room, could undercut the former president’s claims in an interview last week with Fox News’ Bret Baier that he did not have any documents with him.”

Among the incriminating remarks on the tape are Trump saying that “They presented me this – this is off the record but – they presented me this,” and “See as president I could have declassified it. Now I can’t, you know, but this is still a secret.” So the tapes confirm that Trump had the classified documents, and that he knew that they were still classified. That’s proof of a violation of the Espionage Act. And refusing to return these documents, even after being subpoenaed, is obstruction of justice. And it isn’t the first time that Trump’s own words convicted him.

Naturally, Trump’s tendency to incriminate himself is quickly intercepted by his sycophants at Fox News. This time it was Mark Levin who tweeted an extended harangue that was filled with untruths and slander. What follows are a few choice excerpts…

“[T]he corrupt Biden DOJ, sleazy Jack Smith’s office, and the usual corrupt media lapdogs [have] committed scores of felonies, interfered in a presidential election, and have pushed the nation to the brink of some kind of civil war, while smearing and denouncing Trump.”

“The thoroughly corrupt Biden family and Biden regime use the power of federal law enforcement against their political opponents (“MAGA extremists,” pro-lifers, parents — all ‘white supremicists,’ whatever that means).”

“AG Garland, corrupt to the core like most mob lawyers [is} a dangerous man with Stalinist characteristics.”

“Garland has stonewalled appointing a special counsel to investigate his boss, Joe Biden, because he wants to smother with a political pillow Biden’s multiple criminal activities, that even involve our national security.”

“Jack Smith, known for Gestopo-like [sic] tactics…”

“Garland, Biden, his operatives, the hopelessly corrupt media, and the Democrat Party are destroying our country right before our eyes.”

“This latest prosecutorial leak of an audio clip to CNN, is further intended to poison a jury pool and deny the former president due process.”

“To be clear, we know nothing about the context of the audio. Nothing. We are fed exactly two minutes via CNN, a favorite state-run media outlet. We know no more or no less than they tell us. And the multiple felonies committed by the regime in leaking the tape will be ignored.”

Nearly all of the above are putrid and puerile insults that Levin disgorges without even trying to provide any supporting arguments. Although it’s telling that he doesn’t what “white supremacist” means. The one assertion of an alleged fact – that “Garland has stonewalled appointing a special counsel to investigate his boss” – is just patently false. Garland did appoint a special counsel to probe Biden’s classified documents six months ago. And unlike Trump, he voluntarily returned them and invited authorities to search further.

What’s more, Levin asserts, without evidence, that the tapes were the result of a “prosecutorial leak.” However, it is much more likely that the tapes came from Trump or one his associates on the recordings. After all, Trump himself believes that the tapes are “actually an exoneration” of him. So from his warped perspective it would make sense to release them to the media. He raged on his floundering Twitter ripoff, Truth Social, that…

“The Deranged Special Prosecutor, Jack Smith, working in conjunction with the DOJ & FBI, illegally leaked and ‘spun’ a tape and transcript of me which is actually an exoneration, rather than what they would have you believe. This continuing Witch Hunt is another ELECTION INTERFERENCE Scam. They are cheaters and thugs!”

That is just another demonstration of Trump’s acute psychosis. He thinks that the blatantly incriminating tapes exonerate him. However, a more qualified legal analyst has a markedly different opinion. Former federal prosecutor Andrew Weissmann told MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell “This is game over if you are following the facts and the law.”

Trump Previews His Excuses for Chickening Out of the Fox News Republican Primary Debate

Fox News will be hosting the first 2024 Republican presidential primary debate on August 23. It’s bound to be a raucous affair with a growing roster of candidates – 13 declared so far. The fact that so many people are challenging Trump is evidence that he isn’t viewed as much of threat to his prominent contenders who include a senator, five governors, and even his former vice-president, Mike Pence.

For his part, Trump has been making noises about skipping the debate. He has complained about Fox News hosting it because he asserts that they are “hostile” toward him and filled with “angry TRUMP & MAGA hating anchors.” Which makes one wonder if the Fox News he is watching is the one in his warped and paranoid imagination.

If Fox News is, in his mind, too biased against him, what network could he possibly consent to host any debate? He recently whined that “I see that everybody is talking about the Republican Debates, but nobody got my approval.” So apparently he believes that the Republican Party must get his approval before scheduling any debates.

On Monday morning Trump posted a couple of comments on his floundering Twitter ripoff, Truth Social, grumbling that Fox was covering Florida Governor Ron DeSantis more than him…

“FoxNews just covered, from beginning to end, the Ron DeSanctimonious very boring news conference […but…] FoxNews, which is down 37% in the Ratings, doesn’t cover my [Republican Party dinner] in Michigan, or my Keynote Speech for Faith & Freedom in D.C., and then wants me to show up and get them ratings for their ‘Presidential’ Debate, where I’m leading the field by 40 points. All they do is promote, against all hope, Ron DeSanctimonious, and he’s dropping like a rock. Sorry FoxNews, life doesn’t work that way!!!”

Not that Fox News deserves any defense, but the DeSantis coverage was a press conference that might arguably have contained some viable news content. Trump is mad that Fox didn’t cover his blatantly political gatherings – a GOP dinner, and a right-wing, Christian political conference – where Trump could be expected to merely regurgitate the same talking points, propaganda, and lies that he tells at all such events.

Nevertheless, Trump is exploiting his perception of this snubbing to weasel out of the Fox News debate. He regards his presence as a gift to the network for ratings, rather than as a responsibility to voters considering the candidates. And if the network doesn’t provide the quantity and tenor of coverage to satisfy his grossly inflated ego, he will punish them by not showing up. What’s more, Trump pretends that his reluctance might have something to do with Fox’s low ratings, which have indeed dropped precipitously in recent weeks.

The bottom line is that Trump is scared and angry. He is afraid of Chris Christie, who has been effectively hammering Trump. He hates Ron DeSantis, who he regards as disloyal. And he is pissed Off at Fox anchor Bret Baier, who recently had the audacity to ask him a few probing questions.

Despite Trump’s cowardice, Fox News is proceeding with debate as if he will participate. But that doesn’t mean that they believe the election will be “free and fair.” In fact, they are already laying the groundwork to challenge the results and assist Trump in his future efforts to declare the election “rigged and stolen” unless Trump is declared the winner. Because they are all too deranged to accept any outcome other than one that coronates their Dear Leader.

Trump Promises to Ban People He Disagrees With Politically From Entering the United States

Trump’s grasp of the law is notoriously deficient. It’s often contrary to its actual interpretations, and simple-minded at best. It’s transparently twisted in order to achieve an illogical and unwarranted outcome that stretches absurdly to benefit himself.

On Saturday Trump brought his traveling salvation show to the Faith and Freedom conference, a cesspool of hypocrisy that is honoring a pathological lying, lazy, greedy, egotistical, envious, glutinous, wrathful, serial adulterer, who aspires to authoritarian tyranny. In short, a heretic who has doggedly violated all seven deadly sins and added a few of his own invention. So much for faith and freedom.

Trump mesmerized his cult followers in the audience with the same tediously repetitious rhetoric that he disgorges at virtually every public appearance. However, on this occasion, Trump introduced a new wrinkle that reeks of of the dictatorial dominance that he craves. To the delight of his devotees, Trump said that…

“Today I’m announcing a new plan to protect the integrity of our immigrations system. Federal law prohibits the entry of communists and totalitarians into the United States. So my question is, what do we do with the ones that already here, that grew up here? I think we have to pass a new law for them. Using federal law section 212(f) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, I will order my government to deny entry to all Communists and all Marxists. Those who come to enjoin our country must love our country… So we’re going to keep foreign, Christian hating Communists, Marxists and Socialists out of America.”

First of all, nowhere in Federal law does it “prohibit the entry of communists and totalitarians into the United States.” And if Trump wants new legislation that would banish native totalitarians, he would have to carefully carve out an exception for the most prominent one, Donald J. Trump.

More to the point, Trump’s proposal to order “his” government to “deny entry to all Communists and all Marxists” is grossly un-American, unconstitutional, and utterly unenforceable. After all, Trump calls all of his political foes Communists and all Marxists, including President Biden, Democrats in Congress, much of the free press, and any attorney or judge that dares to investigate or prosecute him for his multitude of crimes. In Trump’s mind – as he frequently rages emphatically – they are all “RADICAL LEFT MARXISTS, FASCISTS, COMMUNISTS, LUNATICS, & DERANGED MANIACS.”

Trump’s says that his proposal is based on Section 212(f) of the Immigration and Naturalization Act. This is the same perverse misinterpretation of the federal statute that Trump used for his racist Muslim ban. It’s a broadly written rule that can be easily exploited for nefarious purposes. It says that…

“Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.”

Now Trump is twisting this statute grotesquely to apply to political ideology. How he expects that it would be carried out is a mystery. Would every migrant be deposed prior to entry to ascertain their political beliefs? Would those beliefs be categorized as Marxist or communist if they simply offended or criticized Trump? Would it apply to Trump’s communist pals like Vladimir Putin or members of his regime?

Clearly this proposal was merely intended to whip up the inbred hatred of his cult disciples. Were he to actually have an opportunity to impose it, he would use it to ban his perceived enemies. It’s just another example of his inability to comprehend the meaning of laws as anything other than tools to advance his own personal interests.

Similarly, in the same speech, Trump exhibited his ignorance of the laws related to his current legal troubles. He repeated his ludicrous claim that the Presidential Records Act absolves him of any guilt for having stolen and hoarded classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago home/hotel, saying that…

“Whatever documents a President decides to take with him, he has the absolute right to take them. He has the absolute right to keep them, or he can give them back to NARA (National Archives and Records Administration) if he wants to talk to them like we were doing. And he can do that if he wants. That’s the law and it couldn’t be more clear.”

Not only is he misinterpreting this law, he is confessing to the crimes he was indicted for. And not for the first time…

For the record, the Presidential Records Act explicitly states that “Presidential records automatically transfer into the legal custody of the [National] Archivist as soon as the President leaves office.” That’s the law and it couldn’t be more clear.

In addition to these wildly preposterous statements, Trump told the conferees that being indicted on 37 felony counts is a “badge of courage,” and that “I’m being indicted for you.” Then, as a gift to Democratic candidates in 2024, he bragged that he was the one who was responsible for “the Supreme Court’s landmark decision ending the constitutional atrocity known as Roe V Wade.”

It is remarks like these that cement Trump’s support in the low 30’s, and make him entirely unelectable. They are, however, useful for grifting off of his gullible cult disciples. They couldn’t care less that he can’t comprehend the law, or that he uses it for unscrupulous purposes. In fact, they adore him specifically because of his desecration of, and disrespect for the law and law breakers. It’s what cult leaders and their minions do.

Where is Donald Trump, Tucker Carlson and Putin’s Puppets in the US Regarding the Russian Coup?

Nearly a year and a half ago, Russia invaded its peaceful neighbor, Ukraine, in a wholly unprovoked act of imperialistic aggression. Many of the “experts” at the time predicted that Russia would quickly prevail and Vladimir Putin would expand his tyrannical empire. But that isn’t exactly the way it has turned out. With the help of the United States and other Western allies, Ukraine has steadfastly held off Putin’s armies, although not without significant and painful losses.

However, now Putin is battling not only Ukraine, but a mercenary force that he had recruited to fight on his behalf. The Wagner Group, led by Yevgeny Prigozhin, has turned on his Russian bosses and is marching toward Moscow in what appears to be an attempt to topple the Putin regime.

This is a complicated state of affairs. It’s difficult to know precisely what is going on as both sides are notoriously dishonest. And Prigozhin is a terrorist for hire who is no better than Putin. What we do know is that Prigozhin is undercutting Putin’s narrative about the war against Ukraine, and “has accused Moscow’s leadership of lying to the public about the justifications for invading Ukraine.”

All of this raises questions about the pro-Putin contingent in America. It’s a group that includes shameless shills in the Republican Party and on their Ministry of Propaganda, Fox News. Most prominently the Putin faction features the likes of Donald Trump and Tucker Carlson. Both have fiercely defended Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, and have argued for Ukrainian President Zelenskyy to surrender and give Russia everything that it wants. And both have been conspicuously silent since the coup effort began.

Early on Trump praised Putin as a “genius” for invading Ukraine. Among Trump’s other public adorations of Putin are…

Meanwhile, Republicans and Fox News are floating bizarre conspiracy theories that the coup was staged by President Biden to distract from the problems of his son, Hunter. Or that the U.S. is somehow orchestrating the coup to topple Putin. Either way it assumes an astonishing measure of backbone and strategic prowess by Biden, who the GOP regards as too senile to dress himself. Needless, to say, they have no evidence for any of their conspiracy mongering.

Perhaps a better conspiracy theory would be that Putin is staging the coup as a false flag to deflect from his military bungling in Ukraine. Or maybe he’s trying to help Trump by creating a diversion from his recent indictments and upcoming trials for obstructing justice and stealing and hoarding classified documents. Or it’s a plot to cover up his secret romantic interludes with Hillary Clinton at Moscow-a-Lagostan. Sure, it sounds crazy. but it’s no crazier than what the American Putinists are dreaming up.

In that span of time they have produce little of substance, but did manage to nearly tank the national (and global) economy by threatening to default on U.S. debt. Now the Shadow House Speaker, Marjorie Taylor Greene, has set forth what she has determined are the top issues for Republicans in Congress. It’s a list that reveals just how unserious these political hacks are, and how unconcerned with the interests of the public that they pretend to serve. Green’s priority list consists of imbecilic impeachments, support for GOP criminals, and blatant hate and discrimination…

However, don’t dismiss Greene’s tempestuous tenacity. She has also introduced articles of impeachment for DHS Sec. Alejandro Mayorkas, FBI Director Chris Wray, D.C. U.S. Attorney Matthew Graves, and Attorney General Merrick Garland. Before she’s through there will likely be similar resolutions for everyone from Vice-President Kamala Harris, to the White House Chef.

In the meantime, Republicans have completely ignored the issues that they ran on, such as anti-abortion laws, racist immigration policies, pandering to corporations and the wealthy, befouling the planet, and manufactured outrages against buzzwords like CRT, DEI, and “wokism.” So perhaps it’s a good thing that they are too hateful and dumb to keep their minds on matters that actually affect people’s lives for more than a nanosecond.

As if to confirm their small-minded political hackery, Republicans held a vote on Lauren Boebert’s resolution to impeach Biden. [Note: Greene, who recently called Boebert a “little b*tch,” are engaged in a bitter feud to see who can smear Biden worst and most] They failed to proceed to a floor vote, but instead referred the matter to the Judiciary Committee. And to their everlasting shame, every single Republican in the House voted for that. The Committee that will now consider this atrocity is chaired by Trump-flunky, Jim Jordan. He will surely get to the bottom of that situation with reason and fairness, right?. Just like he did in a recent hearing on “Weaponization of the Federal Government.”

The effort to impeach Biden is not the only preposterous waste of time that Republicans are pursuing. Another useless and wholly political endeavor by Greene was just introduced to expunge the impeachments of Trump. Even if that passes, it won’t erase the historical record that Trump was impeached twice on solid grounds. But it will be another diversion from matters that Americans care about. Which, in the long run may have an unintended positive effect. It will drive more votes to Democrats in 2024.

Scared and Desperate Trump Begs Congress to Save Him From the Meanies Prosecuting His Crimes

The legal comeuppance of Donald Trump is continuing on its course in a fairly rapid fashion since he was officially indicted on 37 felony counts ranging from obstruction of justice to violations of the Espionage Act. A trial date has been set at August 14, although there are expected to be routine deferments.

On Wednesday special counsel Jack Smith provided Trump’s attorneys with discovery materials that include grand jury witness testimony. Which means that Trump now knows who will be testifying against him and what they’ve said. And if Trump wasn’t frightened before he was indicted, he surely is now.

The morning after Trump’s legal team received the truckloads of evidence from Smith, Trump took to his floundering Twitter ripoff, Truth Social, to vent his seething outrage and fear. in a series of all-caps rage postings, Trump revealed his descent into dread and reached out in anguish for help from his flunkies in Congress…

“CONGRESS, PLEASE INVESTIGATE THE POLITICAL WITCH HUNTS AGAINST ME CURRENTLY BEING BROUGHT BY THE CORRUPT DOJ AND FBI, WHO ARE TOTALLY OUT OF CONTROL. THIS CONTINUING SAGA IS RETRIBUTION AGAINST ME FOR WINNING AND, EVEN MORE IMPORTANTLY TO THEM, ELECTION INTERFERENCE REGARDING THE 2024 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION. IT WILL BE THERE (sic) UPDATED FORM OF RIGGING OUR MOST IMPORTANT ELECTION. LOOK AT THE POLLS – THEY CAN’T BEAT ME (MAGA!) AT THE BALLOT BOX, THE ONLY WAY THEY CAN WIN IS TO CHEAT. STOP THEM NOW!”

Could this pleading be any more pathetic? Here we have a former president imploring his troll army to leap to his rescue from the fearsome clutches of justice. It’s especially pitiful considering that the Republican gnomes he is relying on to do battle with the “witch hunters” are so inept. There is nothing they can do to stop the wheels of justice from turning. Although they have threatened to defund and/or abolish the DoJ and the FBI, which they can’t do without the Democratic controlled Senate and President Biden’s signature.

Trump continues to argue that he is the victim of forces determined to destroy him as “RETRIBUTION AGAINST ME FOR WINNING.” Of course, in the real world he lost decisively to Biden in 2020, his candidates failed miserably in 2022, and he has done nothing to grow his meager and dwindling base of support since then. So he resorts to posting anxious outbursts whining that “The Radical Left Investigations of me now…are a SCAM,” and wild accusations such as…

“Congress will hopefully now look at the ever continuing Witch Hunts and ELECTION INTERFERENCE against me on perfectly legal Boxes, where I have no doubt that information is being secretly “planted” by the scoundrels in charge.”

That’s right. The “perfectly legal Boxes” that he refused to turn over, and purposefully tried to hide, contain documents that were “planted” by law enforcement. Those are the same documents that he previously claimed didn’t exist, or were declassified with his mind, or were all returned, or that belonged to him. And the fact that Trump has “no doubt” as to the information being planted should seal the case since he’s such a bastion of credibility.

For the record, this isn’t the first time that Trump has floated the smear that the documents were planted. And with that inanity, along with his baleful beseeching of Congress for deliverance from the demons of democracy, he can look forward to a future of political purgatory.

MSNBC’s Nicole Wallace: Trump is a Crazy Hoarder for Stuffing Classified Docs in With His Pants

Donald Trump is nothing if not predictable. And among his most easily anticipated – and warped – behaviors is his tendency incriminate himself in ill-advised interviews when he’s asked about his pending investigations and indictments.

On Tuesday Trump sat down with Bret Baier of Fox News and provided more damning testimony that special counsel Jack Smith can use in his upcoming prosecution of Trump for stealing classified documents and obstructing justice. And even in an interview with friendly media, Trump couldn’t help himself. He seems determined to be the prosecution’s best witness.

Baier was surprisingly aggressive in parts of the interview and, on at least a few occasions, didn’t allow Trump to dominate the conversation or evade his questions. A good example of that was evident when Baier pressed Trump on the matter of his illegally taking hundreds of documents that belong to the government and hoarding them at his Mar-a-Lago home/hotel. This led to the following exchange…

Trump: I had boxes, I want to go through the boxes and get all my personal things out. I don’t want to hand over to NARA [National Archives and Records Administration] yet. And I was very busy. […] Before I send boxes over, I have to take all my things out of them. These boxes were interspersed with all sorts of things. Golf shirts, clothing, pants, shoes, there were many things.
Baier: Iran war plans?
Trump: Not that I know of.

There’s a massive quantity of derp in there. For instance, he’s confessing that he took the documents that he has previously said didn’t exist, or were declassified with his mind, or were planted by the special counsel and/or the FBI. He’s also revealing that he violated the Presidential Records Act that says explicitly that “Presidential records automatically transfer into the legal custody of the [National] Archivist as soon as the President leaves office.”

Trump also attempts to justify his criminal conduct by claiming that he was “very busy,” as if that’s a valid excuse to break a national security law. Well, golfing, watching himself on TV, posting hundreds of comments online, and those cult rallies, do take up time. Furthermore, his complaint that there were “many things” in the boxes that were personal really amount to only wearable items (“Golf shirts, clothing, pants, shoes“). Apparently he couldn’t think of any other things that he could claim were personal. As for highly sensitive Iran war plans, he simply doesn’t recall.

Reporting on these remarks by the future “POTUS” (Prisoner of the United States), MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace couldn’t help but notice one of Trump’s prominent behavioral defects…

“Trump doesn’t seem to know what he wants. On the one hand, “Can’t catch me. I can stand trial. I didn’t do it. They’re mine.” But on the other, he’s so addled he’s talking about stuffing his pants in with his desk stuff. I mean, that’s not a good look either. Why were his pants in with his papers? He sounds like a crazy hoarder.”

Indeed. Why would Trump pack documents with national security information, including many labeled as classified, in with trivialities like golfing attire? For that he didn’t have time to sort though the boxes he was unlawfully withholding? And he seems to believe that retaining his wardrobe was more important than the welfare of the nation.

It is performances like these that are likely to lead to Trump’s conviction on the multitude of charges pending against him. At the very least, it will lead to further audience erosion from Fox News and other right-wing media. Which has already boosted MSNBC into the top ranking cable news network. So, thanks Donnie.

Squeaker McCarthy Thinks Hunter Biden’s ‘Sweetheart Deal’ Enhances His Sham Congressional Probe

After a years long investigation, President’ Biden’s son Hunter is finally being held legally accountable on charges relating to unpaid taxes and unlawful gun possession. It’s what Republicans and have been drooling about relentlessly ever since Biden was inaugurated.

Notice that Democrats aren’t complaining about this, because they actually honor the law. But now that Hunter has been charged, his GOP pesterers are less than thrilled. They regard the plea deal that he accepted with prosecutors as a too lenient “sweetheart deal.” Which is ironic because one might think that Republicans would support people who resist paying taxes and embrace gun ownership. But no. Because Hunter’s last name is Biden he must be severely punished no matter how minor the crime.

Trump himself is appalled that Hunter is getting “a mere ‘traffic ticket'” as punishment. He whines that “Our system is broken.” However, he could have had his own plea deal if he were willing to admit his obvious guilt. But he arrogantly refused. And in disparaging the justice system he neglects to acknowledge that the U.S. Attorney in Delaware who charged Hunter was a Trump appointee.

In Congress the Hunter case has ignited a flurry of allegations that there is a two-tier justice system. They’re right, but not in the way that they think. Hunter received a sentence that is line with other defendants on similar charges. It’s Trump who has so far gotten off easy. And his criminal accomplices do so as well. For instance, Trump whisperer Roger Stone settled a $2,000,000 tax evasion case last year with zero jail time and not even any probation.

The Republican Speaker of the House, Kevin McCarthy, weighed in on the Hunter matter as well. And he exhibited his notoriously deficient capacity for logic and reason. McCarthy told reporters that…

“It continues to show the two-tier system in America. If you are the president’s leading political opponent, the DOJ tries to literally put you in jail and give you prison time. But if you are the president’s son, you get a sweetheart deal. Now this does nothing to our investigation. It actually should enhance our investigation because the DOJ should not be able to withhold any information now saying that there’s a pending investigation. They should be able to provide [House Oversight Committee] Chairman [James] Comer with any information that he requires.”

McCarthy’s suggestion that the Hunter resolution “enhances” the sham probes he is conducting is downright absurd. Republicans in the House are going after Hunter and President Biden on matters that are completely unrelated to the ones just wrapped up in Delaware. James Comer, chair of the House Oversight Committee, is trying desperately to manufacture crimes of bribery and corruption from thin air. In fact, he even admits that the evidence he has been harping about doesn’t exist. And his “star witness,” who no one has talked to in three years, seems to have disappeared.

What’s more, McCarthy thinks that the resolution of this Hunter case means that the FBI can’t withhold information about totally unrelated pending investigations. Which makes no sense at all. The fact that other investigations are still in progress is justification for the FBI to decline McCarthy’s inquisition.

For his part, Comer continues to expose his biases and legal prejudice. In his response to the Hunter plea deal he said that…

“Hunter Biden is getting away with a slap on the wrist when growing evidence uncovered by the House Oversight Committee reveals the Bidens engaged in a pattern of corruption, influence peddling, and possibly bribery.”

Comer still hasn’t presented a shred of his allegedly “growing evidence,” or any hint of the criminal “pattern” that resides in his imagination. He went on to say that “We will not rest until the full extent of President Biden’s involvement in the family’s schemes are revealed.” Which further reveals that he has already predetermined Biden’s guilt, despite having no legal basis for that conclusion.

Meanwhile, McCarthy and his Ministry of Propaganda, Fox News, continue to disseminate lies and make hollow threats. It’s all that they have available, considering that they have utterly failed to accumulate any of those little things that we know as facts and evidence. And they will persist in that farce until they are thrown out of the majority next year.
