WHUT? Trump’s Treasury Secretary Says to Move From Blue States to Red States to Lower Inflation

The advice offered by Donald Trump and his Cabinet cronies has always been something less than credible, and more likely dangerous. It began years ago when Trump told people diagnosed with COVID to inject bleach, and it continues through his recent suggestion that it’s okay for service members to follow illegal orders, Trump has been a veritable fount of reckless counsel.

On Sunday morning, Trump dispatched his Treasury Sycophant…er…Secretary, Scott Bessent, to another interview on another television program. Which appears to be the main duty of everyone in Trump’s Cabinet, who spend more time in TV studios than in their offices. On this occasion Bessent was there to make bizarre excuses for why inflation has persisted throughout Trump’s second occupation of the White House. Heaven forbid they take responsibility for anything. Among the prime directives of MAGA World is “Blame Others.” For instance…

Let’s set aside why a Trump Cabinet official is appearing on “fake news” NBC (as Trump calls it). During his interview on Meet the Press with Kristen Welker, Bessent sought provide the Trump administration’s solution to the inflation problem that the country is mired in. Never mind that Trump says that there is no inflation and that the economy is better than ever. Bessent offered this advice to make everything even more betterer…

“The Council of Economic Advisers has a study. You know the best way to bring your inflation rate down? Move from a blue state to a red state. Blue state inflation is half a percent higher. And that is because they don’t deregulate, they keep prices up, energy is higher.”

Bessent is disgorging utter nonsense. First of all, the Council of Economic Advisers is a board comprised of Trump flunkies who say whatever Trump tells them to say. Secondly, Bessent’s explanations for why inflation might be higher in blue states have nothing to do with inflation. Regulations may increase the costs, but they are not the same as inflation. Energy prices are driven by industry manipulating supply and demand for maximum profit. And WTF does he even mean by “they keep prices up”? That’s not an inflationary factor. It’s just a disconnected swipe at Democrats that has no factual basis.

More to the point, Bessent’s claim that “Blue state inflation is half a percent higher” is entirely made up. He doesn’t offer any sources to validate the claim, because there aren’t any. On the other hand, the Wall Street Journal published a story last year that revealed the results of an independent study that found that the opposite of what Bessent said is the actual truth. The article’s headline was “Trump Voters Don’t Just Expect Higher Inflation—They Get It Too.” It began…

“Republicans right now think inflation is a much bigger problem than Democrats do, and a lot of that is just politics. But here’s another possibility: Many of the places Republicans live indeed have had significantly higher inflation than Democratic enclaves.

“In new research, economists Carola Binder, Rupal Kamdar and Jane Ryngaert examined Labor Department inflation figures for U.S. metropolitan areas, and compared them with voting data. Their finding: Metro areas with more Republicans and independent voters tended to have higher inflation in 2022 than places where Democrats live.”

So if anyone were to take Bessent’s advice, they would end up moving to a state that likely had higher inflation. Plus, they would have had to quit their jobs in the blue state, and would encounter worse unemployment in their new red state home. Plus, they would have fewer services available to mitigate their suffering in red states where they have cut funding for education, healthcare, financial aid, housing assistance, etc., to the bone. Although they would have lots of new neighbors who hate them because they came from a blue state.

On a more positive note, if enough Democrats were to move to red states, they would become less red, which would result in more compassionate leadership and more benefits for everybody. Including those remaining in the blue states who would have fewer, or less red, red states counteracting all the good that the blue states do for the nation. So maybe Bessent’s idea isn’t so bad after all.

Trump Accuses Democratic Members of Congress With ‘Seditious Behavior, Punishable by Death’

In a flurry of rancid posts to his dedicated propaganda platform, Truth Social, Trump is accusing several members of Congress of “SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, punishable by DEATH!” Will this abomination convince Republicans that Trump must be removed from office?

Trump’s basis for these accusations are as weak as his perpetually tedious lies about having won the 2020 election, or his constant boasts about his divine brilliance on every subject. However, these charges are far more dangerous than most of the laughably incoherent remarks he makes. This episode of his demented hostility began with a segment that aired on Fox News…

The Fox News segment featured an interview with Tennessee Republican senator, Marsha Blackburn, that grossly misinterprets a video produced by several Democratic members of Congress encouraging service members to honor their oaths to the Constitution (Video below). The segment played above Fox’s preposterous and hyperbolic chyron that read “Critics Say Dems Calling For Treason From Military.”

In the video the Congress members reminded those in the military that they have a legal obligation to refuse to follow unlawful orders. It is stated explicitly in Article 92 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), which requires service members to refuse orders that are illegal, unconstitutional, or violate military law. However, Trump has preposterously misinterpreted this as an act of sedition. He posted the following comment on Thursday morning…

“SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL. Each one of these traitors to our Country should be ARRESTED AND PUT ON TRIAL. Their words cannot be allowed to stand – We won’t have a Country anymore!!! An example MUST BE SET. President DJT”

To be clear, Trump is accusing members of Congress of sedition, and demanding that they be prosecuted, and even potentially put to death, for reiterating the actual legal obligations of the military as stated in the UCMJ. And if his own posts weren’t bad enough, he reposted 18 more comments (so far) by random people on his website saying such things as “Insurrection. TREASON!” and “HANG THEM GEORGE WASHINGTON WOULD !!”

The members of Congress in the video that Trump is accusing of sedition are Sens. Elissa Slotkin (D-Mich.) and Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.), as well as Reps. Jason Crow (D-Colo.), Chrissy Houlahan (D-Penn.), Maggie Goodlander (D-N.H.) and Chris Deluzio (D-Penn.). They were all either military veterans or intelligence operatives before being elected to Congress. Which makes Trump’s accusations all the more reprehensible considering his notorious refusal to serve by falsely claiming five medical deferments for “bone spurs” during the Vietnam war.

What will GOP Senate leader John Thune think about Trump wanting to execute his fellow senators? And what will former senator, now Trump’s Secretary of State, Marco Rubio think about killing his former colleagues? Is there any line that Trump could cross before they consider impeachment, or the 25th Amendment to remove him from office?

The brazen and purposeful dishonesty of Trump is meant to excite and increase the hatred of his MAGA cult disciples toward Democrats. It is intended to put a wedge between the military and the American citizens they serve. It is abominable and unconscionable rhetoric that will further divide the nation and potentially incite violence.

In other words, it is entirely expected of Trump whose aversion to fellow Americans who fail to unflinchingly worship him is an integral part of his character, or lack thereof.

In just the first year of his second term, Trump has wildly exceeded the anti-American aspirations of his first term. He is imposing retributive and inflationary tariffs on most of America’s allies. He is sending troops into U.S. cities to suppress peaceful, lawful dissent. He is directing his “Justice” Department to indict and persecute his political foes. He is attempting to muzzle the free press via government pressure and ludicrous lawsuits. He is trying to rig future elections with partisan gerrymandering. And that’s an abbreviated list.

In short, Trump is working tirelessly on poisoning the institutions that hold America together. He is hellbent on twisting every one of those institution – from governmental, legal, academic, diplomatic, legislative, and even cultural – into slaves to his personal obsessions. And among the most worrisome are his efforts aimed at the institution of America’s military.

In addition to Trump’s hostilities toward U.S. cities with Democratic leaders, he is escalating his war on members of the Democratic Party itself. He recently ordered his Attorney Genuflect, Pam Bondi, to investigate Bill Clinton and other Democrats over baseless accusations of associations with Jeffrey Epstein. And on Wednesday his Ministry of Propaganda, Fox News, aired a segment that explicitly accused Democrats of advocating treason.

I find it inconceivable, but that is what they have chosen to do, and we will see what the response to them from Democrats…I find this just so disturbing that they would say defy the orders if you do not like the orders.

“Inconceivable”? Blackburn says that twice. But as was noted by Inigo Montoya in “The Princess Bride,” “I do not think it means what you think it means.” For one thing, they never said to “defy the orders if you do not like the orders.” They referred only to unlawful orders. And the Uniform Code of Military Justice (Article 92), literally requires service members to refuse orders that are illegal, unconstitutional, or violate military law. But don’t expect anyone on Fox News, or among the MAGA GOP, to know that.

The brazen and purposeful dishonesty of Blackburn and Fox News is meant to bring the animosity of their viewers toward Democrats to a furious boil. It is meant to further divide the nation and potentially incite violence. It is intended to put a wedge between the military and the American citizens they serve.

As such, it is Fox News and Trump’s flunkies who are engaging in the most heinous sort of unpatriotic rhetoric that should be regarded as – not treason – but at least inconceivable in civil society.

Trump Media (Truth Social) Falls to Its Lowest Point Ever – And So Does Donald Trump

In the fall of 2025, the fortunes of Donald Trump have fallen on hard times. The November 4th election saw him lose virtually every contest in which his influence or reputation was a factor. And the snowballing scandal regarding his unsavory association with child sex trafficker, Jeffrey Epstein, has picked up steam even among his Republican confederates in congress who just voted to release the Epstein files.

Donald Trump Circling the Drain

No wonder Trump is furiously freaking out and throwing some of the most deranged tantrums of his decade in politics. Which given his record of bizarre and psychotic episodes to date, is really saying something. It also explains in part his desperation to rig the upcoming elections next year for which he is likely to be the biggest burden crushing the prospects of his Republican cult…er…Party.

Reflecting the animus that Trump inspires in America, his scam business venture, Trump Media and Technology Group, is suffering its worst week since it went public a year and a half ago. It has lost a whopping 80% of its asset value since then. Just in the past month its stock lost 32% marking its lowest price since listing. And these declines have occurred while the stock market indexes have been surging.

The last quarterly report for the company showed yet another “net loss of $54.8 million.” They made a huge and poorly timed $2 billion bet on Bitcoin, which then promptly plummeted from their $118,000 purchase price to about $95,000 in the past couple of months. They also reported a massive $20.3 million in legal fees to fend off allegations of fraud and financial misconduct.

Not surprisingly, Trump’s own approval ratings have performed in sync with his corporate enterprise. Which is to say that they have cratered in historic fashion, settling at or near the bottom of his placing since his reoccupation of the White House. As reported by Newsweek…

“Trump’s approval rating remained at the lowest level since his term started in January [40%]. His popularity has been within a percentage point or two of its current level in every Reuters/Ipsos poll since mid-May. The share of people who say they disapprove of his performance has grown, from 52% in a May 16-18 poll to 58% in the latest survey.”

This translates electorally to disaster for Trump and the GOP. Recent polls show that 44% of Democrats said they were “very enthusiastic” about voting in the November 3, 2026, elections, compared with 26% of Republicans, who appear to be severely depressed and disillusioned. And the percent of Democrats who said that the Party had “lost its way” declined by 10 points since August. Which suggests that their decision to “cave,” as some have described it, in order to end the Trump Shutdown not only hasn’t hurt them, it may have helped.

None of this should surprise anyone who has been paying attention to Trump’s financial and political status in recent months that has been anything but promising. What follows is a brief summary of the disaster we know has Trump World…

But on the heels of his disastrous and record breaking government shutdown, he and the GOP are being held accountable for the turmoil, chaos, and suffering that it caused.

Donald Trump Sweating

The election results earlier this month were another warning sign for Trump and the Republican Party that they are sinking fast in the minds of the American people. He lost in virtually every contest despite his frenzied politicking. Trump’s focus on extraneous matters that are of interest only to him and his most MAGA-tized cult followers predictably alienated most voters.

Consequently, Trump is now turning in desperation to efforts to rig the 2026 election by grossly gerrymandering districts in Republican states. He knows that he can’t win by campaigning on his achievements or agenda. So he posted the following threat aimed at his fellow Republicans on his dedicated propaganda platform, Truth Social.

“I will be strongly endorsing against any State Senator or House member from the Great State of Indiana that votes against the Republican Party, and our Nation, by not allowing for Redistricting for Congressional seats in the United States House of Representatives as every other State in our Nation is doing, Republican or Democrat. Democrats are trying to steal our seats everywhere, and we’re not going to let this happen! This all began with the Rigged Census. We must keep the Majority at all costs. Republicans must fight back!”

First of all, Trump’s crusade to turn red states even redder is an admission that he’s losing and has to resort to cheating. He’s too scared to let voters make their own choices for who they want to represent them. What’s more, it is wholly improper for him to inject himself into the electoral affairs of the sovereign states. But he was just getting started. His comment consists of several brazenly dishonest, and frankly demented, assertions that deserve further scrutiny. For instance, Trump says that…

  • “Every every other State in our Nation is” redistricting.
    Actually, it’s only 13 states. And more Republican (8), than Democratic (5).
  • “Democrats are trying to steal our seats everywhere.”
    However, it was Trump and the GOP who started it in Texas. Democrats still prefer independently drawn districts and are only trying to level the playing field.
  • “This all began with the Rigged Census.”
    The last census was conducted in 2020, when Trump was occupying the White House. So is he confessing that he rigged it, but just did it badly?
  • “We must keep the Majority at all costs.”
    That’s a frightening position that reeks of totalitarianism and suggests that it includes breaking the law and engaging in violence.
  • “Republicans must fight back!”
    As noted above, Republicans were the initiators. It is Democrats who must fight back.

Despite his determination to undermine democracy, Trump and his Republican confederates may be surprised by the election results next November. Many of the districts that they rejiggered to favor themselves weakened their advantage in adjacent districts, while failing to sufficiently improve their position in the new districts. They could end up losing both.

Furthermore, they based their redrawing of the maps on 2024 election data where many Latinos were swayed by Trump’s economic promises that he has not come close to fulfilling. Consequently, recent polling shows that Latinos are shifting back into the Democratic column, which would seriously screw up the GOP’s new maps. This was confirmed by CNN’s poll analyst, Harry Enten who reported that…

“Donald Trump’s net approval rating on immigration among Latinos. He is 38 points underwater. That is a 36 point shift from where we were a year ago. […] Whatever Donald Trump is doing in office in the minds of Latinos, it is not working. They have turned against him in massive, massive numbers.”

No wonder Trump is resorting to threatening his own party members. Trump’s loss of support among the public is translating to the loss of support in his party. There was always going to be a tipping point where Republican members of Congress would be more afraid of their voters than they are of Trump. We may be at that point now.

STRANGE DAYS: One Trump Renounces Marjorie Taylor Greene, Another Trump Embraces John Fetterman

Donald Trump, Woman, Fear

The Epstein saga has survived long after the villainous degenerate’s demise. And its longevity is largely due to the cowardly reticence of Trump, and his MAGA minions in Congress and the press, to be forthcoming about his role in the matter. To the contrary, he has been fiercely suppressing any discussion or disclosure that would have the potential to exonerate him if he were not in fact guilty.

Consequently, the controversy over the question of releasing the Epstein files in the possession of Trump’s “Justice” Department just keeps snowballing. And among the outgrowths of the bizarre storyline are the coalitions and conflicts that have developed.

For instance, one of Trump’s most fervent supporters throughout his occupations of the White House has been Georgia QAnon Representative, Marjorie Taylor Greene. When not proffering her theories on “Jewish space lasers” and the “Gazpacho Police,” she was promoting Trump as a near deity who could never be wrong.

That is until this business of Epstein and the files that Trump is so desperately trying to bury. Greene’s punishment for defying Trump’s mission to muzzle all things Epstein has resulted in her being cast out of the Trump cult. on Friday Trump posted a lengthy diatribe disparaging Greene on his dedicated propaganda platform, Truth Social, saying in part that…

“I am withdrawing my support and Endorsement of ‘Congresswoman’ Marjorie Taylor Greene. […] all I see ‘Wacky’ Marjorie do is COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN!”

Setting aside that Trump appears to be describing himself, his complaint against Greene was triggered almost entirely by her staunch advocacy of releasing the Epstein files. Although Trump may also have been bothered by her concern for the welfare of her constituents who have been harmed by Trump’s policies on healthcare and his tariffs that have raised the cost of living.

The bottom line for Trump, of course, is that Greene failed to be wholly obedient and subservient. You have to wonder what is going to become of Greene’s boyfriend, Brian Glenn, who is a dedicated Trump-fluffing reporter. Meanwhile, Trump’s anger drove him to post a subsequent comment declaring that “Marjorie ‘Traitor’ Green is a disgrace to our GREAT REPUBLICAN PARTY!” To which Greene responded on Twitter/X saying that…

“President Trump just attacked me and lied about me. […] he’s coming after me hard to make an example to scare all the other Republicans before next weeks vote to release the Epstein files. […] But I don’t worship or serve Donald Trump.”

Ironically, while Donald Trump was laying into Greene, his daughter-in-lawlessness and Fox News host, Lara Trump, was on Fox and Friends gushing over Democratic senator, John Fetterman. Ms. Lara seems to regard herself as an expert on what Democrats should think and do. And she is enamored with Fetterman’s alleged moderate positions and willingness to bash his fellow Democrats…

“He’s a person who the Democrats may want to look at and emulate a little bit more. He’s the most common sense Democrat in the entire party. I would say John Fetterman has more in common with Donald Trump than he does with the general population of the Democrat Party at this point. They need more of him not less of him. So they might want to embrace that.”

Why Lara thinks that having more in common with Trump than other Democrats would make Fetterman more appealing to Democrats is a mystery. And while Fetterman has been a bit of a disappointment to Democrats in some respects, he still votes more often with his party than he does against it. Particularly notable is that he is strongly in favor of releasing the Epstein files. Just like Greene.

However, for some reason Fetterman’s stance on the Epstein files hasn’t made him a pariah to the GOP as it has done for Greene. And Fox News has been actively praising him. But if you want an alternative view from an actual Democratic Party moderate, here is what James Carville had to say to Fox…

HUH? Trump Orders Pam Bondi to Investigate Bill Clinton and Other Democrats Re: Jeffrey Epstein

The desperation of Donald Trump is rising to unprecedented heights. Only a few days ago new revelations about his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein were disclosed in emails that Epstein wrote that further implicate Trump in his unsavory and illegal affairs. It was a bombshell story that overwhelmed the breaking news of the end of the record setting 43 day Trump Shutdown.

For the first 24 hours after the Epstein disclosure, Trump posted nothing on his dedicated propaganda platform, Truth Social. That’s extraordinarily uncommon for the online Troll-in-Chief. He must have been profoundly shaken by the public exposure of his lack of morality. Which he needn’t be because everyone already knows that. Maybe he was just huddling with advisors to figure out a way to spin the bad news.

However, Trump’s reticence to disseminate more lies appears to have been overcome this morning as he has posted a couple of tediously long comments on the Epstein matter that actually make him look even more guilty. In the first comment Trump whined pitifully that…

“The Democrats are doing everything in their withering power to push the Epstein Hoax again, despite the DOJ releasing 50,000 pages of documents, in order to deflect from all of their bad policies and losses, especially the SHUTDOWN EMBARRASSMENT.” [And that…]

“Some Weak Republicans have fallen into their clutches because they are soft and foolish. Epstein was a Democrat, and he is the Democrat’s problem, not the Republican’s problem!” [And whined…]

“Don’t waste your time with Trump. I have a Country to run!”

Trump is well aware that the documents released by his “Justice” Department thus far are all innocuous distractions that have been sanitized of any mention of his name, or other incriminating information. And as for the alleged “SHUTDOWN EMBARRASSMENT,” that really lands squarely on Trump and his MAGA minions in Congress. Democrats succeeded in raising the awareness of the cruelty of Trump and the GOP, and the American people saw right through those efforts to gaslight them.

Trump’s comment went on to attack his own party as “weak,” “soft,” and “foolish.” And it’s hard to argue with him about that. But in this case he’s making the accusation because they had the courage to defy him, for a change. And he simply cannot comprehend or tolerate that. So he lashed out with obviously desperate allegations charging that Epstein is “the Democrats problem.” It was an angle that he liked so much that he elaborated on it in his second comment, along with a menacing threat…

“Now that the Democrats are using the Epstein Hoax, involving Democrats, not Republicans, to try and deflect from their disastrous SHUTDOWN, and all of their other failures, I will be asking A.G. Pam Bondi, and the Department of Justice, together with our great patriots at the FBI, to investigate Jeffrey Epstein’s involvement and relationship with Bill Clinton, Larry Summers, Reid Hoffman, J.P. Morgan, Chase, and many other people and institutions.”

First of all, if Trump really believed that Epstein was “the Democrat’s problem,” he would release all of the files immediately to expose them. Instead, he’s fiercely battling to keep them secret. What does that tell you about who he really thinks are the problem?

More disturbing is Trump’s continuing weaponization of the DoJ to persecute his perceived political enemies. He has already ordered his Attorney Genuflect, Pam Bondi, to indict former FBI Director James Comey, New York Attorney General Letitia James, Rep. Adam Schiff, and Rep. Eric Swalwell. All on the same trumped up charge of mortgage fraud, which he himself was found liable of in a New York civil suit.

A significant difference between Democrats and Republicans is that Democrats aren’t afraid of investigating anyone who might be guilty of sex crimes in association with Epstein. But it’s painfully conspicuous that Trump is only interested in going after Democrats. He literally demanded his GOP cohorts to not “waste your time with Trump.”

Trump and others on the right have questioned why Democrats didn’t release the Epstein files during the term of President Biden. The answer to that is simple, but still to complex for Trump and MAGA to grasp. For one thing, the Biden administration wasn’t weaponizing the Justice Department. And more substantively, the criminal case of Epstein’s partner, Ghislaine Maxwell, was still in progress at the time. And it is improper to release evidence while a case is ongoing.

Trump went on to complain that “This is another Russia, Russia, Russia Scam with all arrows pointing to the Democrats.” Which is just his goto whimpering about any of the many credible charges against him. He also alleged that records show that Democrats “spent large portions of their life with Epstein.” But for some reason, he has never produced those alleged records. However, the evidence of his long and close friendship with Epstein has been public for years.

Trump’s attempt to shift criminal suspicion to Democrats isn’t going to work. The public is already aware of his rank immorality and convinced of his guilt. These comments will only serve to make him look more guilty and desperate. But at this point, it’s all that he has left. And the worse things get for him, the more outrageously he will react. So don’t be surprised if he pulls a “Wag the Dog” move and declares war on Venezuela.

UPDATE: Pam Bondi has predictably obeyed Trump’s unethical command to launch an investigation into Democrats and Epstein. She posted a comment on Twitter/X saying…

“Thank you, Mr. President. SDNY U.S. Attorney Jay Clayton is one of the most capable and trusted prosecutors in the country, and I’ve asked him to take the lead. As with all matters, the Department will pursue this with urgency and integrity to deliver answers to the American people.”

So Bondi is agreeing to persecute only Democrats and leave the more likely pedophile Trump alone. We can expect the “urgency and integrity” of Bondi to reflect the immorality and corruption for which she and Trump are so well known.

Trump Mouthpiece Whines that the Epstein Story Gets More Press than Trump ‘Winning’ the Shutdown

This week has seen a couple of significant stories competing for the attention of the media. One of them is the end of the longest government shutdown in United States history, which broke the record set by Donald Trump in his first occupation of the White House. The other story is the Jeffrey Epstein emails that implicate Trump in his pedophilia activities.

Both of those are important stories to keep the public informed about the state of the government and the affairs (no pun intended) of the president. However, one of them is weighed down by the dull details of economics, while the other is bursting with the excitement of scandal and melodrama. So take a guess. Which one is the media most anxious to cover? And subsequently, which one is the Trump regime most worried about?

That’s right. Trump has been working feverishly to suppress any media mentions of the Epstein story. He is blasting the press for promoting what he calls a “hoax” (as usual). And he is pressuring his MAGA minions in Congress to deep six the issue. Meanwhile, he is hardly talking about the shutdown at all. As of this writing, he hasn’t posted a single comment on it in more than 24 hours on his dedicated propaganda platform, Truth Social. But not to worry. His Propaganda Secretary, Karoline Leavitt, is on the job. She tweeted Tuesday morning that…

“If not for the Jeffrey Epstein story, CNN would be forced to talk about how Chuck Schumer and the Democrats got shellacked by President Trump and Republicans in the government shutdown fight. It’s clear this is another Democrat + Mainstream Media hoax.”

See? The Epstein story is just another hoax that is being spun by the fake news. And if Epstein’s emails, that tell of Trump having spent hours with an Epstein victim in Epstein’s home, weren’t revealed, we would all be “forced” to talk about Trump’s magnificence at “shellacking” the Democrats.

The problem with Leavitt’s argument, besides her callous dismissal of the gross and potentially illegal behavior of Trump, is that there was no “shellacking” of Democrats to brag about. To the contrary, Democrats crushed Trump and his MAGA Republicans by raising the issue of healthcare to the top of the news cycle.

Democrats also succeeded in attributing the blame for the shutdown – and all of the harm it has caused for the American people – to Trump and the GOP in Congress. They also insured that a vote will be held to hold the GOP accountable for the skyrocketing healthcare insurance premiums. They also secured funding for SNAP for a full year.

To be sure, there are problems with the agreement to open the government, but they pale in comparisons to the gains, and they will be brought up again in two months when this Continuing Resolution expires.

The bottom line is that compassionate Democrats compromised in order to get SNAP funding for children, seniors, and others flowing. While simultaneously putting the cruelty of Trump and the Republicans on display. And the evidence of that was shown in the latest polls that have Trump underwater on every major issue, particularly the economy and the Epstein files…

If these numbers hold – or more likely worsen – for the MAGA movement, there will be a massive blue tsunami next November. And while Democrats get most of the credit for that, Republicans can take some pride in knowing that they were at least partially responsible for sinking their own ship.

Trump’s Press Flack, Karoline Leavitt, is Spinning Furiously to Cover Up His Epstein Ties

Donald Trump and his MAGA Minions have been pulling out all the stops to protect him, and any other adjacent pedophiles, from the revelations that are lurking in the “Justice” Department’s files of child sex trafficker, Jeffrey Epstein. Their determination to keep those files secret belie their claims that they would prove Trump’s innocence. If that were true, they would have released them long ago.

On Wednesday a new batch of Epstein’s emails were made public by Democrats on the House Oversight Committee. They revealed more about how deeply Epstein and Trump were connected. So naturally, Trump Propaganda Secretary, Karoline had to make an appearance in the White House Press Briefing Room to lie about the emails and Trump’s frequent mentions in them. It’s what she has been been doing – very badly – for months…

Among the disclosures about Trump in the emails was Epstein’s statement that one of his victims “spent hours at my house with him [Trump],” and that “Of course he knew about the girls.” At the press briefing Leavitt was asked about the emails by CBS News Senior White House Correspondent, Weijia Jiang.

Jiang: Separate from why you believe these emails were made public, can you address their substance? Did the president ever spend hours at Epstein’s house with a victim?
Leavitt: These emails prove absolutely nothing other than the fact that President Trump did nothing wrong. And what President Trump has always said is that he was from Palm Beach and so was Jeffrey Epstein. Jeffrey Epstein was a member at Mar a Lago until President Trump kicked him out because Jeffrey Epstein was a pedophile and he was a creep.

Notice that Leavitt conspicuously didn’t answer the question regarding Trump spending hours with the victim at Epstein’s home. Instead, she made a blanket denial, bizarrely claiming that the emails proved that Trump did nothing wrong. Where exactly they said that is a mystery. She went on to repeat the lie that Trump kicked Epstein out of Mar-a-Lago because he was a “pedophile and a creep.”

However there is no evidence of that being the reason for the fallout between them. Trump didn’t even say that. What Trump said was that he booted Epstein for “stealing” his girls from the Mar-a-Lago spa. Although other witnesses have testified that Trump booted Epstein because Epstein tried to cheat Trump out of a real estate deal. PBS published a detailed timeline of these events.

In a statement to the press, Leavitt accused the Democrats of having “selectively leaked emails [to] create a fake narrative to smear President Trump.” She elaborated that…

“These stories are nothing more than bad-faith efforts to distract from President Trump’s historic accomplishments. And any American with common sense sees right through this hoax and clear distraction from the government opening back up again.”

If Leavitt is worried about Democrats making selective leaks, she could easily solve that problem by having her boss release everything. But for some reason, they aren’t doing that. Instead, she’s calling the whole thing a “hoax,” which is Trump’s description of any truth that reveals his corruption and dishonesty. For his part, Trump posted a comment on his failing Twitter ripoff, Truth Social, whining that…

“The Democrats are trying to bring up the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax again because they’ll do anything at all to deflect on how badly they’ve done on the Shutdown, and so many other subjects. Only a very bad, or stupid, Republican would fall into that trap […] There should be no deflections to Epstein or anything else.”

For the record, The Epstein matter is being brought up on a bipartisan basis. Several notable Republican Trump supporters are pressing the administration to release all of the Epstein files, including Marjorie Taylor Green, Thomas Massie, Nancy Mace, and Lauren Boebert. Trump’s comment above is his passive-aggressive threat to them to fall in line or suffer his wrath. Will it work? Stay tuned.

WHUT? ‘Doctor’ Oz, Tells Fox News That He Has to Keep Trump’s Healthcare Plans Secret – Why?

After more than 40 days, the longest government shutdown in American history is nearing an end. It broke the record that was previously held by – you guessed it – Donald Trump during his first term. However, the deal that was agreed to by Republicans and a handful of Democratic senators is hardly satisfactory to anyone.

The deal to end the Trump Shutdown consists mainly of a promise to hold a vote on extending the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) subsidies after the government is open. It also guarantees that fired federal employees will be rehired, and others will receive backpay. Most importantly, it funds SNAP benefits for one year to keep families from starving while Republicans held them hostage to their demands to kill Obamacare.

Many Democrats are not pleased with the deal. They are disappointed that they went through this melodrama without getting significant concessions from Trump and his MAGA minions in Congress. But Republicans aren’t especially thrilled either. They will still have to vote on the ACA subsidies in a couple of months, when they will face another potential shutdown. In the meantime, they will suffer politically for having adopted such a cruel agenda that harms children and seniors.

It is notable that Republicans aren’t taking much of a victory lap upon nailing this down. In fact, they are making excuses and running from questions about the deal that they orchestrated. Among their weakling apologists is Trump’s administrator of the Centers for Medicare Services, “doctor” Mehmet Oz. He dashed over to Fox News for an interview with their Senior Trump-Fluffer, Maria Bartiromo, to try to spin the deal as a win for the GOP. It didn’t go very well.

BARTIROMO: How do you want this to play out once the ACA subsidies expire?
DR OZ: We have lots of great ideas, but I don’t want to show our cards. As the president often says, why would I telegraph to you what we’re gonna do. We have to have an open government.

REALLY? Oz wants to know why he should “show our cards” to reveal Trump’s healthcare plans. How about because that’s his freakin’ job? This isn’t a top secret military mission. It is a public servant describing what he’s doing on behalf of the people he is supposedly there to serve. It’s his obligation to keep the people informed so that they can make decisions about whether or not these bureaucrats are performing up to their expectations. But Oz has the gall to refuse to tell the people what he’s going to do, and in the same breath say that “We have to have an open government.”

The claim by Oz that he has “lots of great ideas” is obviously a lie. If he did he would be proud to say what they are. But Republicans have been pretending to have an alternative to Obamacare for ten years. And for that entire time they have never presented it to the public. Trump himself has promised his plan in the oft-repeated “two weeks” that has never materialized.

So now we have another promise of a healthcare plan that for some reason needs to be kept secret. And this is the stance that the Trumpists are taking in the wake of their Trump Shutdown. Trump et al will undoubtedly endeavor to spin this as a win for themselves. That’s a lie. Trump and Republicans are already taking the heat for this fiasco. So we shouldn’t help them by bashing our side and suppressing turnout in the future. We are winning and we need to keep up that momentum.

What’s more, even if Democrats got the ACA subsidies from the Senate, the House GOP would have voted them down. We could not allow people to starve in the meantime. Democrats need to point that out and, conversely, deploy their own spin as it being a Democratic win. Whether you believe it or not. Our goal needs to be longer term. We need to win elections in 2026 and 2028 and beyond. Unless you think that Republicans would be better.
